Pogba has gone from not technically good enough for Barca to a primary target for Barca.

I'm sure on balance Pogba would move to Barca if he had the choice. But he doesn't have the choice. He has a fecking mega contract at a club with the finances to tell Barca to feck off, which is inevitable given how we'd never be able to sign a replacement this window.

Real or Bayern are the only clubs who could possibly sign Pogba this window because they're open to selling Kovacic and Thiago, and including them in a deal for Pogba could work. PSG and Juve could do that as well with Veratti and Pjanic but they ain't that crazy.

There's no debate, you've just come in here being hysterical, like the majority of the board. It's tedious and a number of people are fed up of it, don't be so sensitive. If you've got a rubbish opinion you're going to be called out for it, get over it.

Football is about emotion, as a fan you need a place to vent so it doesn't really bother me. If it annoys you don't look in, that's the way I see it.

No, i meant this. I agree that you have right to write your opinion. And some of guys maybe overreacted like most of us doing these days here. But when you piss 4,5 people off with your post than just move on. You can't win in that fight and everything that you will get is abuse, the rest of us will get ruined thread, and you will look as a wum also. Just give it a rest mate

Whilst it may as valid there’s certainly better ways of getting it across. Acting like Manchester United are doomed because Barca have bid for Pogba is a bit tedious. I love Pogba and without him our season would become a lot harder but it’s because of that there’s surely no way we’ll sell him this year. If he goes next year then it’ll certainly be closer to £200 million than £100 million and that can be used to replenish the squad in more needed areas. By all means have a discussion but dont throw toys out of the pram before the season has even started.

It doesn't annoy me, I find it quite entertaining to read the reactions. I asked if opinions in the match day thread are as valid as any other opinion. Would you place the same amount of stock into an opinion in the matchday thread compared to an opinion with in depth analysis, good structure and evidence based reasoning?

Nice to see nearly every single one of these rules broken multiple times in the past hour I've been away. Will re-open thread in 15 minutes to give you all a bit of time to cooldown. I don't want to see any of the last two in particular - take the whinging and bitching at other posters and shit elsewhere. Yes, you may disagree on things with other posters but there's no need for abusing someone for having a different opinion. Any more of that tonight and there'll be threadbans.

It is because you think he will leave this window. Why on earth would the club sell when Barca popped up with their interest less than a week before the window closes, leaving us with no time to sign a replacement?

I feel that Pogba most likely will move, but there is simply no chance we are selling him this summer. This feels like ground being prepared for them to buy him next summer.

Your Ronaldo comparisons do not apply in this case because he was continually linked to Madrid for years before we sold him. He almost moved the summer before, but SAF convinced him to give us one more year, which he did before moving early in the next window.

So your ‘the sky is falling!’ Meltdown has no basis in reality. The club don’t need the money and Pogba has a 4 year contract. I recognise that we don’t want an unhappy player which is why I think we will probably end up selling him if he still wants out after this season (maybe next summer), but there is simply no way for Barca to force a sale in the next few days apart from offering a figure that we cannot refuse (£200m+ in the current market).

Barca are a bigger club than us, but that doesn’t mean they can just take players when they want. Pogba has a contract with us and therefore we will sell him only when it suits us.

Biggest, to me, has always meant most fans. I think we're the biggest in that regard. I'd swap that for most successful which is what you're talking about, though!

If so, between this and Benzema case, Di Marzio was played hard by his sources. Sure he may have legit sources, but look like they don't care shite about his reputation and gave him shittiest info to break thus making a fool out of himself.
