I think Lascelles is quite good actually.

Not that I don't think he's not good. It seems they're shopping in a different market these days. You look at some of their signings they've been bang average.

Well this will be Jose’ third CB he’s bought having already spent £70m on Bailly and Lindelof let’s hope Alderwerield will do the job.

We need to clear some deadwood too we already have 5 first team CB’s.

Ah, it's that time of the year...
  • Clubs spend crazy amount of money for transfers
  • Fans are going crazy - refreshing pages, tracking tweets and putting their best line ups for next season (even though some of them contain 12 players which is prohibited in football)
  • ITKs are appearing everywhere and out of nowhere - on twitter, youtube, even RedCafe, the bloke who lives next to you can also be an ITK
But there's only one true winner : flightradar24.com

so who goes? Rojo? Just singed a new contract? Bailly? Smalling, Jones? Lindeloff?
Jones and Rojo for me.
I think Rojo signed an extension as a thank you from Jose so he can recuperate before being sold.
That would leave four CBs which is perfect imo. Maybe even sell Smalling if Umtiti wants to come.

What is this. Boy needs to follow proper procedure of two weeks of rumours, back and forth, medical flight tracking.

It's more than 2 months though. He was linked with Inter for about half a season or a year.

Or they'll sign players before signing a manager like loads of clubs have in the past.
True, but it shows Sven mislat or whatever his name is, is getting on with his job. Whoever comes in will have to accept him as having authority over recruitment.

Cut the middleman and go for De Ligt. He is going to be a superstar. Alderweireld is 29 and seems to have one lengthy injury ever season.
What is wrong with this place? Why doesn't anybody wants proven players?

I bet loads were having issues with RVP signing.

They still have to conduct their business. I assume it will be the basic team concept (manager/DOF/scouting department) working as a cohesive unit after King Wenger. The only argument to be made is that the new manager should be sorted out already and be integrated in the player recruiting process.

It seems I can keep posting these stats forever and no one reads them. He's had 1 serious injury, that's it!

Yeah, I’m not doubting that they need to get their business done, it just seems they may have shut the door on candidates who would want to wield a lot more say in transfers. Ie none of the experienced senior managers linked.

Sandro, Alderweireld and Fred would make our XI a lot strobger .

Jose Mourinho wants to sign at least one central midfielder to replace the retiring Michael Carrick, with a second required should United fail to agree a new contract with Marouane Fellaini. The Old Trafford boss is in the market for as many as four new defenders and would prefer to move on a number of high-salaried fringe players, including Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw.

So Castles says Mourinho us after 2 CM and upto 4 defenders. I'm guessing that means an attacker only if one of our attackers leave.

It seems Kroenke Jr. wants a young manager, cause it worked so well with the LA Rams, who they also own. That guy won COTY immediately as a 30 year old rookie head coach.

I still think Fred is a scam, made up by Donezk and doesn´t really exist.

Ah, did not know that. Nagelsmann could be a good shout then.

Can't just sign every player with potential. City are likely to dominate for the next few years so if we want to challenge in the short term we need proven quality.

So, we get Fred and City are after Jorginho? That about sums up the difference between second place and first place. Just that little bit more quality in all their acquisitions. (assuming they do get Jorginho, of course)

I don't think we will buy a CB, because
If there is new LB and RB (what we really need) that mean we will be with new back four that has never played together and 3 ( in the worst case) of them never played in PL and this in a crucial season where we must challange for the title.

That’s the Pep factor. The guy is as big a superstar as exists in football management, you just can’t compete with him for signings most players will want to play under him.

Before Pep joined City hadn’t made any top signings in years (apart from KDB), they were getting guys like Bony, Jesus Navas, Otamendi, Mangala etc decent players but not the top tier.

Tbf though Mous pulling power is probably the second best after him, we don’t get Pogba, Sanchez, Ibra or Lukaku without him imo.

Fred was their first choice in by all accounts, they tried to sign hi in January but they tried the old 'we want your player for cheaper than you want to sell them for because Pep' line and once again, it failed.
