It's got to be getting close to the point at which City can almost field an entire team of players they bought for 40 million +. It's truly an insane amount of money they've spent.

No more romanticism and love in modern football. Players choosing money over playing for Saint Pep for a few quid. Sad times.

Yarmalenko + Felipe Anderson on the wings for West Ham, footy manager at it's finest!

Good to see things finally moving even if we aren’t involved just yet. This period of inactivity has been ridiculous from all clubs, with the new deadline looming large. Yes, there’s been a World Cup to deal with but why did they agree to this new earlier deadline knowing they’d have 3 less weeks to get things done? Obscene.

West Ham are going crazy this summer, geez.

Is anyone else concerned with how much West Ham are spending? Please do not tell me we are funding it with Arnautovic money:lol:

Why did I read this like an Opta Stats tweet?

In euros they've already reached that point (13 players currently at the club).

Mkhitaryan and Sanchez were bought for over 40M at United and Arsenal respectively but as they ended up moving on a swap deal, they don't technically appear in the list though they're basically 40M+ assets.

We seem to be after CBs while a right winger and a LB are more necessary.

It's clear to see that Jose has given up on us trying to out-score or out-play opposition. He saw City and Liverpool last year, he knows what to expect from them and knows his squad and tactics / style will not win anything trying to go blow-for-blow with them.

He knows his best bet for glory is to go full blown defensive, even more so than last season. He has the world's best GK and a rather stingey defence, already. In his head, if he adds a world-class CB we can win the majority of games 1-0, including against our big rivals, and hope we drag ourselves to glory.

Why are we chasing a CB? We have 6 at the club and glaring holes at LB and RW that need filling.

And none of them world class or close to it. It's part of the reason JM has been extra defensive in his tactics (yes even by his standards). He doesn't think we have a leader at the back and he'd revamp our defense if he could I'd wager

I thought Martial was an initial £38m? I guess that you probably have added a triggered bonus, but I bet many players listed above received certain bonuses.

None are top class correct but for the most part they are competent and I dont see the need for a new CB as bad as the other two positions I mentioned unless Mourinho is switching the system up next season.

I think the reason for JM's overly negative style is due to him not trusting our defenders that much. It's the only possible reason as to why we'd actively pursue another CB

 he could become good, but needs experience and minutes. He played the World Cup with Morocco

Fair enough, its not often Dortmund get it wrong and they usually turn them into either world beaters or expensive flops, either way Madrid win. A cunning plan by your boys.

It was 28M for Mkhi.

Yeah, you forgot Mangala for 42M for city (french media said that it was 52M at the time).
