Oh this one must have slipped through with me completely. Interesting, remember him touted highly but then he sort of disappeared from the headlines.
Was announced during the first/second group stage games of the World Cup so unsurprisingly it went under the radar a bit.

And if this money ended up paying off and leading to success ?
It may or may not.

That's not even the point, the only thing I wanted to convey with that whole overspending was that Barca do not have a definite plan regarding their transfers.
They began last summer trying to buy Verratti, a defensive #8/#6, then when they lost Neymar, a LW, they went ahead and bought a RW and an attacking #8/#10 for world record prices.
Then they were after a #10/shadow striker and when he snubbed them shifted their attention to a CM like SMS who plays as a #8/#10
Now they are looking for a RW
They then bought a young CB, who has a few bad matches and so now are looking to sell/loan him in order to buy another young CB

All of this IMO does not feel like a very well planned approach. Also I'm not very sure they spend the Neymar money well. Dembele for me, doesn't suit the Barca style. Coutinho is better but even he's best near the box in a counter attacking set up and neither of them have been a runaway success.
Its too early to judge, they will probably come good and I could be wrong, but that's my opinion.

I said in a previous post I don't their policy as a perfect at all and they have problems as well, but at the same time they most be doing things right having the team doing well on domestic level the recent years.

Think it's time to agree to disagree then. :)

Yup, agree to agree to disagree

Emery's Arsenal is taking shape nicely, all the signings fit 100% his style. All his teams start the season pretty poor usually, but if he survives those first months in charge something interesting can happen for them.

In Duncan Castles podcast he mentions we have agreed personal terms with Alex Send but Juve are asking for €60m.

Hope we go in for Maguire he is the dominant centre half with great distribution that we so badly need. We have to be in for him.

"The transfer is currently in a studious stage, as its something Juventus are just pondering at the moment. The issue for Juventus is not the 120 million euro transfer fee that is being demanded by Real, but the player's wages, which would be around 150 million euros and bring the whole operation to roughly 400 million."

I'll agree with that, nice blend of Centre backs at good ages too:
Lindelof the cool one
Bailly the animal
Maguire the Rock
Just need an experienced one
Rojo, Jones & Smalling can all be sold for all I care.

At least it's not united being used to get Ronaldo a new contract this time.

Whatever that means.

I don't know who is but apparently he was right about Griezmann and Lemar

Why are the press constantly talking about a release clause when Madrid have maintained that they will let him leave if he wants??? If Ronaldo leaves the release clause is irrelevant because he will have Real Madrid's permission and the clubs involved will work out a fee.

Oh boy...the best World Cup in ages and Ronaldo might actually leave.

@carvajal he looks like the French version of 'ITK' accounts who claim something then delete the tweets that predict wrongly. Looking at the replies to one of his old tweets, he used to have a picture of a dog with a man as his display pic but changed it when people said it was fake.

Also from the replies to another of his tweets he basically copied what someone else had said an hour ago but changed a few words.

Don't know why I'm going in this much detail but twitter accounts which you can't pinpoint to a real life person, have no followers of note and have dodgy avatars know as much as you and I.

The crazy thing if these moves end up going through (Ronaldo and Mbappe) it might be us financing both sides to a certain extent (Sandro and Bale)

Madrid possibly offloading Bale and Ronaldo for Mbappe and...Hazard (?)

I'd do that if I was Perez.

It'd be exactly the sort of thing they'd do, and it's indicative of why they are so successful. They keep strengthening even when they have a team of world class players

Ah ok,sorry for posting it.I thought it would be something more serious. Now that it seems that Cristiano is leaving I think what if we sell Cristiano and finally we do not sign Neymar / Mbappé and we end up being the fools?.
I'm surprised that jugones/Pedrerol have been so direct if they don't have a top transfer very close

Cristiano is hurt: or Florentino rolls up/acts(don't know how to translate) or he leaves. He thinks that the club didn't treat him well in details that affect him emotionally. His relation with the president is broken.Juve lurking

Not only the lap of attackers with Cavani at the top of the list, but after the World Cup Juve could meet Mario Mandzukic to take stock of the situation. If the Croat asked to leave, Juventus would not keep him despite being aware of Mario's technical-tactical importance. At that point, eye on possible crossings with Manchester United. Mourihno appreciates not just Mandzukic, Juve has asked Darmian to be patient. And if the fullback was still free on the market, an exchange could take place between the bianconeri and the United. For the midfield we confirm the difficulty of finding the quadrature with Lazio for Milinkovic-Savic: the name to follow - one year after the expiry with the PSG - is that of Rabiot

So a swap deal for Darmian and Mandzukic could be on the cards. I say yes to that.

What a soap opera.

Would love Mandžo in United.

No way, he's a donkey work horse that barely scores any goals! Forget about all these different managers considering him a top player because I want United to play the way I see fit.
