To be honest I wish Ronaldo and Griezmann would just feck off at this point, great on the pitch but off it they both seem like they'd be better suited to Hello magazine. What is going on with professional football these days...

I just hope things get more concrete after this press conference. Maybe Atletico/Barca/we made a breakthrough in talks yesterday? Best case scenario I can imagine for us is him saying he will leave Spain for the next stage in his career. I need to know whether to continue on this ride or hop on to the next Muppet Coaster.

Dunno who is more annoying at this point, AG7 or CR7.

They are the Kardashians of Football
Exactly, I am starting to get irritated by all this saga. If they want to move the just fecking move and not beat drums all around the world.

Imagine not doing both. Posts like this make no sense.
Imagine not having parents buying everything you point at? Posters ridiculing posts without backing it up make no sense. Or should at least not be listened to in a mature debate

We should improve the players we have AND buy new players. Why the hell do you think Pep is trying to sign Mahrez and Jorginho? Your original post was not 'mature' either.

AG7 pulling these stunts is justified in this thread alone, it gets people talking.

Rightly or wrongly, it works.

In regards to us letting a player announce it etc.. we were all edge of our seats waiting on Hazard to do the same.

Greizmann will either announce he is staying at Atletico or will be leaving Atletico. He won't be announcing that he is moving to a particular club.

I don't understand why people are so worked up about Greizmann holding a press conference. I don't see anything wrong with it. And for those who say this is just before a world cup, I don't see how that is a problem either if he has received permission from Deschamps.

He's a world class player who is entitled to make a decision in his own time. Its not his fault that journos shove a mike up his mouth and constantly ask him if he has made a decision and he responds cagily.

The clamour for a LB is very strange, as if we have some sort of deficiency on that side. Our right side is far more of a concern.

Ashley Young is a genuine modern fullback, does a job in defence and most of his contributions come in attack. The only problem is that he is constantly cutting onto his other foot. Valencia is a far bigger concern who really struggles against deep defences, whereas Young is great at beating his man and delivering the ball into dangerous areas. Forget about our RW where we have played Mata and Lingard who are terrible when starting there because they just crowd other areas.

If not getting a left back means we can splash the cash on a RW then I'm all for it. A top class RW will do a lot for our attack.

Both areas need attention.

A LB is important, as is a RW. Why do we have to settle for upgrading on just 1 .

Sign a LB, then sign a RW. Very do-able.

If we want to progress - we need both

Because we don't spend £250m in the transfer window. This has happened every season, fans think we'll completely revamp the squad with City and PSG levels of spending but we end up spending well below £200m.

If we get a top class LB, we'll have to sacrifice a little on RW and vice versa.

If we were to get Sandro and Willian I would be quite happy, and they would cost £40-50m each. But then we would miss out on younger alternatives on the RW like Mahrez and Douglas Costa who would cost much more. If we were to do the unthinkable and get someone like Gareth Bale then we would almost always get a cheaper alternative at LB like we have done with Dalot at RB.

We can't miss out on players like Mahrez and Costa if we're not interested.

I don't get how people still mention Mahrez, a player who has been on the market for years, we're clearly not signing him.

We've also not signed a RW in years, does that mean we wouldn't want a new one? Willian confirmed that we tried to sign him in 16/17 but Chelsea didn't want to sell. We are obviously looking for a RW but you can't always get what you want and have to work with whats available.

We could have wanted Mahrez, but his asking price could have forced us to work on other transfers. Now that we have a better team we might be able to focus on these positions.

The class ones that are available are Mahrez and perhaps Bale or Willian depending on the new trainers of RM and Chelski. Then there's a couple of top talents who are available like Malcom and Gelson Martins. They would all be an upgrade on Mata/Lingard on the wing. At this point I don't really care who we end up signing as long as we sign one of them. Our right wing has been neglected long enough. If we want to challenge City we can't solely rely on our left wing for any sort of threat.

Who does Griezmann think he is? He shouldn't be the one to hold a press conference about his destination, the club he signs for should do that. If Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, or whoever, accepts that, they've lost the plot. He's not Lebron James. Just stop, please.

The press conference is for the French team, who have Griezmann and Nzonzi up for questions. It's it organised by him to tell us his "Decision". However, it is inevitable that he will be asked, again, where his future lies.

Saw an article from the german newspaper Bild linking us to Augsburg left back Philipp Max.

Any of you think there's any truth to this, or just another false rumor to increase a players price?
