Shiiiiiite
Ashley Young will be our first choice next season. Mourinho even said that he hoped he plays 50 games.
Like vodrake said, there was an option to buy in the loan deal. Clearly Juventus was going to activate it.Shiiiiiite
There never was an option..it has always been an obligation, but Juve just sold it as an option. My guess is for accounting reasons, cos an obligation mean its your asset and you need to balance it..no obligation means you can activate all costs directly P + L. Rummenigge has told it all the way..indirectly until last GAM, then he said it openly. Not really surprising, Juventus said last year that they would activate the option to buy in the loan deal
Jose has previously said Rojo was not a good left back so I doubt we'll see that. He likes Young over Shaw and it's clear Shaw won't win him over this season (I put that down to Shaw more than Jose tbf). Dalot will likely be used more as a RB so I'm really hoping we sign some gem at LB and sign him soon. Unfortunately I don't think there's anything in the Sandro links. Got a feeling we are looking elsewhere.Well....we have got Dalot now who can play on both sides and Young/Shaw as well if Shaw ever gets his act together. And Rojo. (Although Rojo at LB horrifies me).
I wonder have we needed to hold back some funds earmarked for Sandro (e.g) in order to sign some megastar previously unavailable.

Yeah, looks like we've walked away from the hugely overpriced alderweireld deal.
Yeah levy will get 25-30m for him. They can hold teams over the barrel for players like bale but huge money for alderweireld isnt happening.Good. I hope we're never held to ransom by Spurs again.
They released Huth, he's probably just a cheap option to make up the numbersMaguire to United ?
Yeah it would appear so and at that price well worth a punt. He's got a better record with fitness than Rojo, Bailly and obviously Jones and has a higher ceiling (perhaps he's equal in quality to Bailly). He's left footed too and good in the air. I'd just be concerned that if he signed our best pairing of him and Bailly and our potential full-back situation we'd lack real experience or leadership at the back.Is he better than what we have?

I'm getting the feeling we are getting two more players even though we really need three filled in (LB, CB, RW). I think we'll still be left with something of the makeshift/unsatisfactory variety in one position.
Please for the love of god no.Maguire to United ?
I think I put the priority order atI hope you're wrong but fear you are right. For me the priority is RW. We can't go another year without properly filling this position. We can definitely do better in the other 2 positions but I think we can get by.
Fair enough, don't think you're alone. Some matches everything seems to come down the left. Even the player we stick on the right keeps appearing on the left. I just want us to have a credible threat on both flanks.I think I put the priority order at
1. LB
2. RW
----
3. CB

He's talented but had bad luck with injuries and i believe this is his level in the moment. If he manage to succeed there he can move to a top club.Underwhelming move in his career if true.
Wow. It’s kinda funny seeing a Dane with such an Irish name
It depends, at his age I'd assume he would want first team football above anything else.If Barca want him, they'll get him. Apparently they still have interest despite Umtities renewing his contract.
Like others have said, i'd prefer an experienced ball playing centre back to come in a la Alderweireld but if Spurs are being unreasonable I would simply ignore the CB situation and reassess next season. LB & RW need to be sorted this summer and should be our number 1 priority.
Levy will believe he can get Grealish for as little as £15m, despite Villa’s attempts to stress they will not sell their prized asset on the cheap.
He's deteriorated at Lazio over the past couple of years. Used to be highly rated but now more of a bench player.
