The most to benefit from this would be Rashford IMO. It gives him time to stake his claim as our main striker. It will be ideal for the club too as 2018 is World Cup year and many players would be willing to move clubs only after its over.

With two more reliable sources - yesterday Rheinische Post, now Sebastian Weßling (AKA fluestertweets) - it looks as if this could be happening. SportBild insisted today that Dahoud has an exit clause, something RP dismissed.

Most overrated player in the league.

He's an attacking only player and he has less goals and less assists this season than Heung-Min Son - If you count all comps Son has double the goals.

Also calling him a playmaker is laughable. He's a dribble and shoot style AM he's completely out of depth creativity wise and playmaking wise if compared to Eriksen, Ozil, Mkhitaryan, etc.

I have a feeling that Dahoud's move was announced today to spoil the BILD party:
They went full clickbait this morning, hallucinating that there'll be a bidding war between Tuchel (who was particularly keen that Dahoud joins, wanted him last summer) and Klopp. :D

I hope that he leaves Liverpool leaving them without one of their two best players.

I heard recently that Barcelona would swap Rakitic for him... I'd take Rakitic everyday before Coutinho to be honest.

Rakitic can be one of the best midfielder of our league if he comes.

Lacazzette's agent speaks on behalf of Atlético to try to open the negotiation.

"Yes, I want" "Unzúe tells his relatives to be able to train Barça and he hopes to be the chosen one."

Cheers. It's a shame, I'm in the minority who think some stability with a DOF will do us wonders

I don't think you're in the minority on here...just the dissenters are much more vocal than the supporters. Monchi with our budget...phew...that would've been something to behold.

Not really, his abilities lie in clubs that thrive on picking relatively unknown talent and selling them for a profit, at the elite clubs his qualities would be largely void due to the simple fact we can't afford to give the lesser known players time to improve and make mistakes!

He does that because of the budget and strategy that's necessitated at a club like Sevilla. The idea that he and his scouting team wouldn't be able to scale that ability to secure higher ceiling players with United's astronomical budget is inane to me.

Also, United as a club has never operated how you described. This club has made it's mark on giving young players a chance and this club has never had a problem allowing the young starlets they've acquired, from Ronaldo to De Gea to Martial, work through difficult periods.

When the telegraph runs with a sub header like that it makes me question the credibility. Tongue in cheek I know, but come on, weather!?
Do you think climate and weather don't matter to some players?

I think looking at rainy days is a much of a muchness when comparing England and Germany. I think other factors like the club, wages, teammates and management would play a bigger impact. Yet Telegraph decided to make a sub-header about Pogba re-assuring Griezmann that the weather isn't that bad.

Just sounds like lazy journalism. I'd expect it from the Sun tbh.

True in this case when speaking of Germany, but in other cases I can definitely see it being a big factor. Look at Nainggolan for example. One of the main reasons he decided not to come here last summer after speaking to Conte was because the weather is so much nicer in Rome.

I think weather includes other perks of living in Manchester. Where you work is a big factor when you look at a job offer, it's not different for footballers.

Yeah, I can understand it if our direct competitor were a Serie A club like Juventus. I'm a firm believer of Di Marzio (as is most the caf after the summer) so reckon its us versus Bayern as it stands.

Can't see Real going for him over Hazard as Perez has his favourites.

According to quotes from Griezmann it is one of the major things that concerns him. It certainly sounds trivial to us but that could be down to the lack of first-hand experience. Also, you mention things like wages, teammates and management, but Griezmann is in such a premium position that he'll get that wherever he goes.

Yeah, just revisited the quotes and I suppose he did say along the lines of " I have many doubts about moving to England. The rain, weather affects me. I need to be happy outside".

Fecking hell  Its not even that rainy anymore comparatively. If he wants to leave Atletico, which eventually he will, he will only really land up in Germany or England at the rate its going. City, United, Chelsea, Bayern are the ones who will probably want him and only the English clubs can really afford him.

Figure reported to be in the £10m region for Dahoud - I understand that he only had 1 year left on his contract, but that it still great value for money in today's market. We would've had to pay at least twice that if we were in for him.
If you look at previous transfers German transfers within German club to German club often go for very cut rate prices compared to what others often expect.
