Why the dislike for Perisic? He's a pretty good player, plus if Mourinho think he'll fit in well with what he wants for next season then why should we be upset about it?
36m + addons for Perisic when we have Martial and Micky who can play on that side of the field.
If we get Perisic then Lingard falls down the pecking order. He provides all the qualities Lingard provides while also giving double the goals and assists.
Remember all the times Lingard gets into good positions only to bottle the 1-on-1 or miss a sitter, Perisic will score those for you.

The problem is with the price tag, for 6m more City got a much more talented player in Silva.
So half of what he is earning here? I don't know if he would settle for that. I think a huge chunk of those 45m is supposed to be wages

Silva is a completely different player to Perisic. I don't care about how talented a player is, I care about what qualities he brings to the team.
If Mourinho wants a wide player that works hard for the team, has good end product and provides width then Perisic is a better fit than Silva. Vice Versa if he wants a wide player that drifts inside and is very creative.

And Mou made 3-4 good signings out of 4 last year. If he buys Perisic this early, it is definitely not a sign of panic, but a player he truly wants/has been scouting a lot.

Exactly. As an outright winger Perisic is definitely the better option then Silva. Some people seem to value the sound of the name, and the way a player moves a lot more then his actual value to a game of football. That said, i'd rather see Perisic at AC Milan, my second favourite club. I was still hoping that we can get a real star for our wings, but not too many of those around anymore. Perisic would probably mean the end to Lingard though, similar work rate, similar qualities, but technique a bit more refined. Splashing so much cash for just a slight upgrade however, i don't know. I'd say he would be a bigger upgrade then Bernardo Silva would have been though
