Spoke to Mitten ahead of the game the other day. Asked him about these "preparing bids" and all the other BS stories. He said what we all know... there's such a demand for this stuff and people don't really care if it's BS or not, and that 95% of all these stories are just out of thin air.

We all know it, but when we see news regarding a player we want and some journo says some other club are preparing a bid we all panic
Not everyone, people are already losing their minds and we're only two days after winning the cup and Jose and Ed are a disgrace and need sacking

I love muppet season as much as the next guy but Jesus this place is so depressing... if any fan base should know it's ours that signings and pounds spent don't automatically dictate who wins the PL. None of our transfers (besides the big money ones) are ever reported in the media until just a few days before we go in for them. Stop the overreaction.

Lucas plays on the wrong flank for what we need, we need a LW as Greizmann will be on the right side.

You want us to spend millions on an SS and use him as a winger? I thought people might have realized by now that square pegs don't fit in round holes.

We spent £89M on Pogba and have constantly played him out of position, and our RW doesn't operate as a RW, look at Mata, he spends most of his time central anyway so it wouldn't be a big deal.

Griezmann played several times in his career as right-winger, where's the surprise if we would use him there in a 4-3-3, for instance, on an European away game?

Pogba out of position? :nono: You're right about Valencia covering all the right-wing and that allowing the right-midfielder to drift inside, but I guess Mourinho would want some variation on that next season.

Pogba is out of position when he's made to play in a 2 man midfield, he does his best for the team but it shackles a wonderfully gifted player with needless defensive tasks that can be avoided in a 3 man midfield.

At my old job a few of us used to laugh about the transfer system and how the journalists use the same terminology all the time 'Preparing a bid' 'Activating the release clause' 'Monitoring (insert player here) situation' and a favourite one which always seems to be directed at United 'Relaxed about the situation' I'm sorry guys and girls but the truth is none of them have got a clue, especially when they're churning out the same generic headlines all the time.

When I was younger I used to get excited about nearly every player we were linked with and nowadays I never am and the reason why is like Mitten told you @Bogga the majority of it is rubbish. I don't see the point in getting excited over a player who hasn't even signed on the dotted line. There's no point in getting upset over the fact a player has joined another club rather than us, there are reasons why this could be 1. We were never interested and the club/agent are using us to drum up interest 2. They don't want to play for us (Who wants another player here like Di Maria? I don't) 3. They wanted to join another club more than us (Not for monetary gain because we appear to not be in short supply ourselves)

If there's any truth to this... What did they expect? We'd sell one of the top three goalies in the world for 25-30 million £?

Of course we should. They are Real Madrid, footballing royalty. We should see it as an honour that a club like Madrid is interested in one of our players.

I think it has more to do with Keylor's form and Them paying 45 million for Vinicus and now wanting Mbappe too. Looks to me they want all the bling players and a goalkeeper no matter how good will be less attractive to fans than an attractive attacker.

They're not keen enough to pay what's necessary to get him. Also David doesn't seem desperate to leave either and is happy at the club.

Hes supposed be reiable, no?

I also think we need 6 players (rather than four): wide attacking player, central forward, 2 midfielders, center back, full back

He should be banned from transfer tweets tbh. He's as bad as they come in terms of reliability.

If De Gea does end up staying I hope he tells Madrid to feck off once and for all. Can't have them in a year or two deciding that they want him again for a third time.

Hopefully Navas saves a penalty in the final or something and they proclaim him a hero for a couple years yet,
before they eventually boo him out of the stadium as is inevitable from that lot.

especially when the fans seem to rate Navas highly. And De Gea is an Atletico prodigy

I think with entry of Milan clubs and PSG, we will have to really fight for signing players. We need to sign players or we will be left scraping the barrel and pay insane amount for low quality players. Really jealous of City's business so far, Silva and even mendy they have improved their side by a huge margin.

Cheeky cnuts tried to get him for like 15m 2 years ago and then thought they'd get him free. I'd be on some Dr. Evil 100 billion dollars shit with them but if the lad wants to go to Spain so badly I'd be reasonable if Atletico came in.

If they get him, Mendy and Silva . They will have the best squad in the league.

Mendy and Fabinho is far more of a concern than Silva. Its them plugging gaps where they had it, at the full backs. We really need to address our full back situation too with Valencia not getting younger and no capable LB able to have a good run of games.

I have faith in Mourinho though, perhaps he has Semundo in mind and other defensive midfielders that Ed is working on. Although I'd raise a question mark if we're targeting someone like Dier ahead of Fabinho.

City will buy half the Monaco team, then find out they can't cope with the physical Premier League, or only did well cause they played in a system that suited them better than Pep's.
Would be absolutely hilarious.

Juve sussed them out, any team with a well organised defence will do the same.

Valencia have been very reliable at RB. Not the best out there, but he gets the job done. Good fitness too. Thats why he got a new contract until 2019. He will need a rest here and there but thats where Darmian/TFM/Tuanzebe comes in. And that O'Conor kid in our youth team is supposed to be good right?

Aye. The Monaco system has a lot in common with Klopp's Dortmund system. It wouldn't surprise me to see some of Monaco's players struggle to reach the same heights elsewhere.

Our best games this season December-beginning January where with him in a midfield two in 4-2-3-1 and Mkhitaryan #10. Poor Pogba, best midfield in the world but can only play one system… not!
