Really? Because SW make it sound like FF source their own story.
Sorry I re read it and yes it adds French Football claim a pre agreement of 50m was reached.

Pre agreements.. Like James Rodriguez and Falcao when he was at Atletico :wenger:

We will just have to see I expect some sort of announcement shortly after the game. Whoever we're signing I think those deals are pretty much done.

Hopefully King continues his good form this season and you've got a front two worth 25 goals or so? Not bad.

Would be an awesome signing for Bournemouth, Defoes offers a lot to even the top teams. IE - He will actually score goals and will be happy with a squad role.

If SAF was our manager, you can bet he would have signed him. IIRC he wanted to sign him when he was at West Ham. Would be similar to the Larsson signing.

He is correct though. The Rodriguez you remember hasn't played in two years. He had potential, sure, but went backwards as the whole Wolfsburg team did.
You don't just unlearn to play good football, especially at that age. Nothing you can do as a left-back in a non-functioning team with no cohesion, no matter how good you may be. Put him in a working team, and he'll shine again.

Is it just me or does that seem like a much better deal for Everton?

I mean Spurs already had Sigurdsson and he's better than Plug
No, its not just you. Sigursson has a terrific assist rate. Barkley would give spurs a bit more of a direct runner though.

So who's he replacing and where will he play? We've already got 2 similar players in our squad who have been inconsistent, as we don't play to their strengths. I don't get why people are excited by replacing one of them with another such player. We need players who will suit Jose' methods and system.

Lingard, right side of midfield

Lingard, right side of midfield

He's only playing as Mhiki is hardly setting he league on fire, or Martial isn't doing the business. When we have players who are very similar who aren't getting played as they don't suit the system, why do we need a new player who will still not fit into the system! Doesn't make sense, he's no better than what we have. Saying he'll replace Lingard is wrong, he fits the system, not a world class player but does what the manager requires.

I don't think there's anyone in this squad who can dribble like him

I also think he will fit the system fine, he's a hard worker

Could we not be changing the system by bringing in these types of players?

A front 6 of

Herrera Pogba
Silva Griezmann Mhki
Rashford

Would play some scintillating stuff. Also most of them can play different positions so the alternating of positions between them would be a nightmare for defenders

Who do we have that's similar to Silva?

Lingard is terrible and Martial has had a shocker of a second season. We've also resorted to putting Fellaini up top. But Silva is no better than we have I don't understand what you have been watching all season.

If he performs better than Mata, Martial or Mhiki in the Premier league, then you can say he's a better player than them. But you'll harp on about Lingard, as he's a squad player. We've bought players who don't fit Jose' system and if these reports are true, I don't see him being the player we need. Sorry if that bursts your bubble.
Oh and just to point out Fellaini (as you've brought him into the equation, yet another squad player), I don't consider him a skilful 10 or a winger, not sure what you've been watching all season? Or even all his career?

Lingard isnt terrible. When used properly, with the right players around him, Lingard can be highly efficient. But you need to put him in a position where he can run at people, rather than trying to go past them like a winger would.

You can't really judge our current players on how they are performing now as they have clearly been advised to protect their fullbacks lately. When we was an attacking side though our front lacked killer instinct, not just finishing but the ability to pick the most direct pass. What I hope to see this summer is players designed to play this type of football and unfortunately I don't think Mata is; Martial is hard to judge; Rooney is just Rooney; Fellaini definitely doesn't have the skill sit to play a forward pass.

Having a front 3 of Miki, Griezmann and Silva gives you footballers prepared to hit you on the break with quick 1 two's but for me this can only work if we have a proper DM. It's a better front line than what we currently have with a lot more speed of thought. Lingard although a squad player would actually play better with these players too.

Which of the players we've bought doesn't fit the system of Mourinho? He brought in four new players last summer that alle suited perfectly to his system. Pogba, Bailly and Zlatan have all been playing very well, and Mkhitaryan is obviously a very talented footballer. Mourinho knows what kind of players he need in the team, and we will for sure bring in players that fit into his system. For me, Bernardo Silva is a perfect Mourinho winger as he is very good on the ball, has a fantastic understanding of the game, and is very consistent in his defensive contribution. The only thing he is lacking is a bit of pace, but if he was sprinting like Mbappe og Rashford, he would be at the level of Messi and Ronaldo already.

If this transfer is brought to fruition, then Mata's days are numbered. Jesse is the backup and Henrikh was bought the past summer. Bernardo is a more traditional RW than either Mkhi or Lingard so I dont agree that he's in the same mould as our current squad players.

Lingard isn't a squad player. He's out starting winger. Every option for 'those positions' is fit at the moment, yet he will likely start tomorrow. Just as he started he season in the side.

Basically, Jesse Lingard is Manchester United's first-choice winger. It is Martial and others who are 'squad players'.

The only problem I see with this is Pogba is not great in that deep-lying midfield position. His best attributes are passing and dribbling, and I feel like to an extent, these are wasted when he plays so deep. Plus he doesn't excel defensively, which means it's better for the team if he plays further forward. I feel like our ideal front 6 would look like this:

New Winger/Martial---New ST/Rashford---New Winger/Mkhi

Pogba/Mata----------New CM/Herrera

---------New CDM/Tuanzebe---------
