If there's even the slightest chance of signing Demebele we have to do everything we can to ensure it happens. I dont see Barcelona letting him go. He will develop there alongside Messi and co. But we should be alert to the possibilities.

I Know we can’t sign everyone, but it is genuinely baffling when we seemingly aren’t in for or don’t go all in for players that would be quality buys.

It would be laughable if we allowed Sessegnon to go to bloody Spurs. What only for us to want to fork out three times what they pay to buy him in a few years time?

They have linked us with the likes of Umiti, Kroos, Verrati, Alderweireld, Fred, Savic, Willan, Bale, Neves, Sandro, Dybala, Malcom, a lot of quality players.

Fekir will definitely get injured a lot in PL due to his style of play

I don’t think he’s even going to end up playing LB, but if you’re not annoyed about missing out on him, you’ve simply not seen him enough. He would be a typical Utd signing a few years ago.

Yeah, he really isn't a LB. He's a left forward similar to a young Bale, he may have started out as a LB but as Fulham found out this season he's a much better utilised as a left forward.

I think he's made the right choice anyway. Personally if I was his agent i'd advise coming to United and if possible pick one of Tottenham or Liverpool. They both have a good track record recently of developing young talent with a Manager keen to give them a go. Don't think he'd go much playing time at United with Rashford/Martial/Sanchez in the way. He's only really got Son as direct competition at Spurs while at Liverpool he's got Mane.

If he was that good he wouldn't be signing for spurs. Or something.

Nabil Fekir to Liverpool is a depressing news for me. For the last one year I have been constantly following him and wished we had bought him. He can play the KDB role for us perfectly. Man I love him the ....

 major issue with the Caf now is how just a run of the mill transfer leads to depression in some.

If Fekir and Dembele are off to Liverpool, who's leaving? Surely, it cannot be Salah as that has 'transfer of the summer' written all over it with a potentially record-breaking fee, surely we'd have heard something of this by now? some rumbles at least, especially as its a World Cup summer, whoever is after him would have wanted an agreement in place.

Klopp's transfers have been excellent so far so I have no doubt that Fekir will slip effortlessly in his team and style of play.

Liverpool are an injury away from starting Solanke. Their squad is complete piss. I'm sure they have room.

The only way Dembele would be coming is if Liverpool is sanctioning a big sale. There is simply no way we buy a 70m+ without a big player leaving, see Torres, Suarez, Coutinho. It all points to Salah leaving. There were no rumours in December of Coutinho to Barca, until after we bought VVD then the we knew the deal was pretty much done, so it maybe like that. For Fekir and Ousmane, I'd be OK with that.

True, but no chance Dembele swaps the Barca bench for ours. He will be a starter. Someone has to leave.

We've let Sturridge, Origi and Coutinho go with no replacement other than a clearly not good enough Solanke. Think we can do with just bringing in one top attacker, but if we do bring in two, it's not like there will be problems finding games for him.

What we desperately need is a first team attacker who can play the same positions coutinho did (8/10 and wing), a holding midfielder good enough to unseat Henderson and a first team centreback who won't just be VVD's sidekick.

After that, we can start wondering about a goalkeeper and another attacker, depending on how much is left in the pot.

Are we still going to pretend Klopp is a miracle worker on a budget after this?

Hopefully we will actually spend the budget we've been accumulating this summer.

But signing Fekir for 60m after having to sell Coutinho for 140m is hardly calls for "look at how many shedloads klopp is spending, should be winning titles."

It would be nice for us to spend in a way that reflects our ambitions though, even though our full spending power can't match the likes of city and united.

Good for Liverpool. They have been playing great football and are in the running for these types of players. They would do well to sell salah for 200m or something and buy those two while he is at his most valuable.

You bought VVD in January, was that from the transfer budget for last season or from the Coutinho money?

This forum seems to think you're paupers though, I'm one of the few who thinks your board were telling the truth about the VVD money having nothing to do with Coutinho.
Fekir / VVD / Kieta would be 200m worth of transfers, behind a front four that he bought for 120m odd?
Coutinho is one transfer that every top side loses against the top 2, I'm not sure it proves anything in terms of budget constraints etc.
You are right to back Klopp but I read a discussion on here last week asking about the wonders he would do with Utds budget as if we were at Citys level

Out of the front 3, Mane is probably the most 'droppable'

It would seem an unnecessary purchase though

Yeah he might.

In your opinion, what might those good reasons be?

He might well prefer to stay in London, where he was born and where his family live. And he might believe his opportunities for developing as a player would be better with Pochettino compared to Mourinho.

But of course there may be no truth in the tweet ... and in any case any deal (or at least any loan-back terms within it) would probably hinge on whether or not Fulham make it into the Prem via the play-offs.

Now that Southampton are relegation fodder, it seems that 'pool are now looking elsewhere.

Gonna be an interesting season next year. All the top 6 have intriguing sub plots going on right now.

That's one of the things to be evaluated against FSG this summer.

Arsenal's board also delighted in telling the fans that the money is there, with the assiduous agreement of the manager. We're sort of going through the same here and having to trust that it's all true for a couple of summers in a row now.

The VVD money ought to have been there in the transfer budget for last season. Same as Keita. So if FSG is on the level, we ought to have the coutinho money + further sales + a decent summer budget. A 200m+ gross expendity wouldn't be a total surprise. That assumes the money will be made available though.

Looking at FSG's modus operandi though, I somewhat expect a case of "the money is there, but... we just couldn't seal the deal at the right price and would rather wait than spend it unwisely / Transfer deadline day didn't pan out according to the projections in our master plan".

If we spend less than 100m though, it's time to call porkies on them.

Fekir and Dembele to the scouse cnuts will spur me into a deep depression.

Think Keita will give you some bite in midfield. As long as he doesn't fall foul of our refs.

We'll need more in midfield, I think. Honestly wouldn't be surprised to see us play a brand new midfield for large parts next season. Fekir-Keita-Neves or something like that. And a steely centreback to play with VVD.

If clyne returns to fitness, we'll have the option to go between solid all across the backfour, or two flying fullbacks going forwards (Robinson being both. I love him). And then look to a midfield that's gonna do more than harry and hit early balls to our forwards. There's been a distinct lack of subtlety and penetration without a Oxlaide-Chamberlain or Lallana in there. Guys like Milner, Henderson and Wijnaldum are good players who can hold their own in a good midfield. But they need some stardust sprinkled on them from proper top players next to them to be part of a good midfield. You can't have a midfield three with what is essentially three water carriers. No matter how well they carry water.

Not fussed. However many attackers they add, they are only going to score similarly as they have done. Not as though Fekir and/or Dembele would get them scoring 200 goals instead of 100. What matters is Klopp's system and how to counter it, and if Jose does that, it will be fine.

Dembele? They will sell Salah.
They won't sign dembele. Barcelona aren't going to sell willingly and i doubt liverpool would have the arguments to convince the kid to give up on his dream so soon. Dembele really really REALLY wanted to play for barcelona
