Why don't Chelsea just go for Belotti and even Aubameyang instead of mediocre players? Is Roman tightening the purse strings or what?

Conte wants a old fashioned target man.

Aubameyang doesn't fit that mould. Haven't seen much of Belotti but he may be too high price for them after buying Morata.

Giroud + money makes sense for all parties here. Dortmund won't find a better striker at this stage, Arsenal will have the kind of striker he likes & Giroud will get regular football he craves. I'll wager that's the way it happens.

Think it's more to do with their current trajectory than their league position. You'd like to think that if they feel he can stabilise results then 10th would be sufficient for a club with their budget.

Yeah, beeing 10th doesn't also mean that much when you are only a few points away from relegation zone. On current form Watford will slip the league further down and will have a huge problem soon.

Not sure that fits Dortmund’s way of buying young unknown and selling at a profit. Or taking former players back they have sold for cheap.

I havent seen a lot of Auba.. Whats the deal there? 60m isnt crazy expensive in the current market and those wages dont look astronomical either.
Regardng the wages: they could mean €10m net since it is an italian news outlet.

Did I say he wasn't gonna go there? I said they aren't the biggest club in the world. Nothing about the rest.

That's a matter of opinion though isn't it. You might measure it by Facebook followers or commercial partners, others might not.

And the point of my post was not to get into a subjective argument over which club is bigger than another, it was that he'd be interested in going there, like 99% of players in the world. Since you don't disagree with that I don't know why you bothered replying to my post other than to take an obtuse point.

Because they refused to let their manager leave in the middle of the season? Surely that was the only sensible thing to do.
Nah, I was saying that in light of them considering sacking him now. And more broadly the general way the club is run. Bring in a manager with big ideas and make noises about ambition. Sack him by the end of the season. Rinse, repeat.

Barnes is not a bad choice. He´s a master flopper. The things he could do at a big club like Chelsea with better supporting from the referees.
