The Sanches thing just reeks of Gaitain style agent games

No reputable English source has touched it
Dailymail said we are negotiating hard.
I don't know who it is but I'm sure we are looking at buying someone from Benfica. We have scouted their matches a ridiculous number of times in the past two months.

West Brom turning down £21m for a player they don't really use. Either they are thinking of selling to a relegation rival or they are crazy.

He will be worth less in the summer with only 12 months to run on his contract. West Brom also don't seem to play him enough to warrant rejecting £21m, unless they don't like how it is structured.

But everyone keeps talking about this new PL TV money that will come in, and on that basis it's quite easy to make the claim that the 21 million won't be such a good price for West Brom if it means they get relegated because Berahino is scoring goals for one of their relegation rivals.

At the end of the day,it's still up to the player, and there's no way he's going to a worse club

I don't know what I'm more shocked by, Newcastle bidding 21 MILLION for a player, or them turning it down!!

Seems a barmy price and talk is it will end up at £24m. I guess however over priced it seems if you have the money Ashley has it's meaningless. Would be a good transfer window for the Toon if it happens.

I don't get West Brom. He's been nothing but hassle for them and they consistently turn down big money for him. How much do they think he's worth?

Vodafone are sponsoring Sky Sports Transfer Deadline Day. You should see some of the other tweets with @VodafoneUK replying to every single one asking what people think etc. #4GTDD is the hashtag

How long before there's an illegal wire tap/listening post with respect to the Transfer Deadline Day case? Worth thinking about it.

Absolutely stellar, and would shut a lot of people up. They'd need something new to complain about :D

Why the f*ck are WBA rejecting 21 million for a player, whose contract expires in 18 months, doesn't want to play for them and hasn't even been a regular starter since the summer?

Because they know they can easily get more for him.

He has a few clubs after him right now.

to piss Berahino off

I suppose they take the view the will need his goals to guarantee their premiership status, which is worth a alot more than £21 million to them, plus if he bangs them in he'll still be worth a fortune in the summer.

But he hasn't even been a regular for them? Waiting for more than 21 million for him seems like a dangerous game as well, but on the other hand clubs have been overpaying for home-grown reserves all month.

There was a report on Sky a while ago that their chairman has a fee in mind and won't sell unless it's met by the buying club, as he'd also be happy to lose Berahino on a free transfer in 18 months as they're likely to get at least 10 million if the matter goes to a tribunal.

I don't know what to think really, it's baffling. The scenario above is highly unlikely, IMO. It'd be hilarious if he joins a foreign club on a free just to piss them off.

Maybe once this window is closed he could get his head straight and start putting it all in for WBA, if he does he'll probably get better clubs wanting him in the summer, and even have a chance at making the Euros, he's certainly got talent it seems.

Re the money is £21 million all that much nowadays, especially when he'll still likely be worth the same in the summer, also Newcastle are below WBA in the table, if he goes there and they rocket up the table whilst WBA slip into he relegation zone then it'll be a disaster of sale for them.

Because they wouldn't be able to replace him with similar quality. That could hurt them even if he's not first choice.

There is very little incentive for any club to sell any player when their accounts are in the black.
