What's the stop them saying in January ''oh, hold on until the Summer actually'' and get him on a free?

Becuase he'd sign this summer. Apparently its a registation ban, not a transfer ban.

Thats what a tweet suggested a few pages back anyway.

A player we will probably never see in the first team. I find our record of these type of signings making any first team impact quite bad. They either get released, join lower teams or bugger off and be very good elsewhere.

It's like that for all clubs, sometimes it work out and sometimes it don't, you got to take the chance right?

We have Januzaj who we all know have alot of potential and Peirera is on his way to making it.

Low risk high reward type signing. Even if it fails we would not lose much.

Madrid to sell 58 goal a season player when they face a transfer ban? I suppose his age would be a factor. It is an insane fee for a 30 year old. He would destroy the French league though.

If there is even a slight chance of Real thinking about selling Ronaldo, I can see Woody being on the front of the line

There's also a point to be made about making sure they youth teams are stocked with reasonably good youth players so the guys that have the potential to make it won't have to train with dross week in week out.
I don't know anything about this lad. But surely there's no harm in bringing in a young, talented player every now and then? We'll always need squad players who can do a job too, especially with the homegrown rules.

Second signing of the summer....get in!!!

Fourth.

Ask permission? Do PSG realise it's not up to UEFA to hand pick instances where they can ignore FFP?
Ok, just this once PSG but after this you follow the rules like everybody else..

I'm sure it's nothing more than lazy journalism but I suspect the "ask permission" is referring to the 'relaxing of the rules' that hasn't yet been defined. They're effectively asking if the spend would come within the new relaxed rules that are TBC.

That's how I understood it too, but surely there is relaxing the rules and then there is taking the piss! They only have about £50Million to spend this year, so asking for £100Million + wages on one player is surely OTT?

"Di Marzio claims Dani Alves is off to PSG. Almost moved last year, but club backed off paying a transfer fee."

Get French Football‏@GFN_France
Dani Alves is set to join PSG on a 3 year contract at €3m a year, according to @DiMarzio.

€3m a year? I thought he was only leaving Barcelona for one last big pay day. Surely he got offered more than that at Barca already and he would be guaranteed a starting spot and trophies.

3,000,000euro per year seems way too low! That comes to around 60,000euro per week.

Even if it's after tax, it's still only around 110-120euro, gross, per week. (assuming a French tax rate of 40-50%).

Surely he'd easily get 150,000 pounds a week, minumum, in the EPL? Especially if it's a free signing.
