The man knows his football

Assuming you're talking about the guy above? Anderlecht are Belgian!
Oops. Definitely didn't read the post properly. Still applies though, I think.
I've had that impression about Dutch football for a while.

Aren't they hindered by FFP? I thought they only had a budget of €48m.

Fees and wages are spread across the length of a contract... it was explained in an article about Hazard a while ago, can't find it ATM. Say PSG spend 75 Million EUR on Pogba and 11 Million EUR in wages, this totals to 141 Million EUR over the length of a let's say six-year contract. Annual costs would be 23,5 Million EUR, which is still an awful lot but comfortably within FFP.

That's another reason why we won't have any trouble spending £100m+ again this summer.

Ah, that makes sense. feck

Re. Di Maria being unhappy. Mitten said last week that he is happy in Manchester.

Who do you believe?

I can see us going for Pogba but we'd be a really offensive minded team so who knows what we got planned. PSG can keep dreaming about Di Maria. If they want him, they would have to give us two of their best players :) Money is no interest really. Di Maria for Verratti however, might be good business.

The PSG Di Maria loan so they can buy Pogba is still the most ludicrous thing I've ever seen, there's more chance of me swimming to the moon.

I can see Pogba's agent fancying the PSG move, 3 seasons there and then at 25 he makes the Real Madrid move for an even bigger fee.

If we were to do a loan with a commitment to buy deal with them for PSG then I am sure we'd have to get more in return................

Usually RMC are always well documented regarding Paris. They are connected will the PSG staff since few years; they have contact in supporters, the team etc, so I would take this very seriously, but only the part saying that Di Maria is not happy.... Being sh** since 4 months and a substitute this end of season are obvious reason.

But as a lot of you said, I can’t see why we would afford a direct concurrent now (in Europe) having our best player (supposed) for free when we still have to pay for Madrid 50M this summer, and letting them signing Pogba that we are also convoiting ….

Jorge Mendes is pushing for a transfer for Guimarães starlet Bernard to Man United for €10m. Valencia, Inter and Monaco interested. [O Jogo]

Mendes owns 35% of Bernard's economic rights, so he's obviously keen on a move. He got what it takes to make it in England, but still raw.

Bernard is an attacking midfielder with a lot of power. He's a never-stopping engine, good passer and difficult to stop when going forward.

New Pogba perhaps?

That's not really a 'loan' though; it's a purchase with delayed payment.

That's a loan with an agreement to purchase. I suppose that in this case there is a payable clause, if you don't want to purchase the player.
Just think about it, clubs don't pay on the spot, their his installments the payment is most of the time delayed.

I agree Di Marzio has bollock tonsils. After the mess that was the Vidal saga I don't think I'll ever trust him again, just like how I can't really believe what Balague says after that first Herrera debacle!

It's impossible for a journalist even with all the best contacts and sources in the world to get everything right, there's so many factors at play you'd need to be able to see into the future to correctly predict how every transfer will play out. Not even Vidal and Herrera could have told you where'd they'd be playing at the end of the transfer window at the times Di Marzio and Balague were reporting on it. What is obvious though is that Di Marzio and Balague do have some genuine contacts within the game and what they say often has some substance to it. At the same time they have to make a living, and only reporting on stuff they know to be irrefutable fact is not going to be enough to satisfy the modern obsession with transfer gossip. I believe Di Marzio and Balague to be credible journalists in that they will not outright create a rumour, but as I say, they have a living to make, and they will twist, exaggerate and manipulate whatever genuine information they have (or at least what they believe to be genuine) to suit their agenda.
