Their midfielders arent what they once were.Herrera isn't good enough for Barcas midfield. Nonsense story.

There's nothing better than seeing a BBC Sport transfer tweet. You just know it's some official shit.
Hopefully its about renewal with Barca.

I think Alves might be off.
I'm happy with him staying if that's what happens. Feel you'd be better off promoting a young right back if here is one who is ready, or buying one. LvG doesn't seem keen on Rafael. Please, keep him.
Is he still first choice at Barca? Don't see why he should leave if he is
Schneiderlin sounds like the perfect midfielder for United and an excellent long term replacement for Carrick (yes I know they aren't like for like but i don't think you can replace players like that). I wonder how much Southampton would want for him...25-30m you'd imagine. Not bad a price. And Southampton have Wanyama, but Schneiderlin is box to box unlike either of them. He can play next to a DM and Chelsea would be a lot more solid with him in CM, and Fabregas playing further forward

The heir to Sagna's throne/bench.Wouldn't shock me if he ended up at City.

What Dinorah really wants to say: "We've another offer but what we really want is PSG to make one, so that Dani can chill out in Paris for his last few playing years"
Lately at least, Schneiderlin has been deeper and Wanyama has been box to box, which makes sense as he's faster, less disciplined and not quite the distributor Schneiderlin is.

I don't think it's anything to do with his quality. He's starting for Barcelona which says a lot.Don't think Alves is as bad as people are making out.

My issue with it is we are in a rebuilding phase and are signing a 32 year old on huge wages to be part of that. That isn't rebuilding to me.
However, he has experience. Something we lack in our defence right now, and hes a winner. No doubting his quality and therell be no transfer fee. It wouldn't be the worst signing to get him in.
Also we need to add to other areas as well, a free transfer let's us do that easier.
Please be true !
Zabaleta on ~£90,000 per week, Sagna on ~£100,000 per week, Alves for maybe ~100,000+ per week. All of them contending for one position in the starting XI.
Isn't Sagna supposedly leaving?
He's ours for surehttp://www.ad.nl/ad/nl/1433/PSV/art.../09/Memphis-gaat-naar-de-top-van-Europa.dhtml
Translation:
Director Marcel Brands of PSV says with pain in his heart that it's very likely Memphis will leave PSV in the summer for a topclub. 'If you see which clubs informed about him, they really are the top of the football world. We had offers last season but Memphis wanted to become champion and topscorer in the league first (which both should be a matter of time, he's topscorer with 19 goals and could be champion if Ajax lose their next match). We would like to see him stay another year but if I'm realistic and I would run a big club I'd sign him up aswell. We're happy to sell but we would lose a great kid and a fantastic footballer'.
I agree. It's not my first choice at RB but it's a very good option.Well that he's still quality player can mean he's part of this rebuilding. Van Gaal said he sees a rightback in McNair and we've got Janko aswell. If we get 2 years out of Valencia/Alves for our youth to mature, that would be a good reason to sign him. I'm not the biggest fan of this idea, but I wouldn't mind Alves on a free if van Gaal sees something in him.
