Now crappy is done... What do people think of Montero-Tudor-Iuliano as the defensive unit with Sorin/Alves either side? And Peruzzi in goal!

We liked the logic of it but couldn't help but feel Marquez/Helguera would be FAR better than Tudor in that central role linking with the midfield, and once you broke down the theme you may as well get a better defender than Iuliano (who was sound, a good man-marker, but not much more).

Don't fully agree on Henry, but Kaká should have stayed. It's a clear counter-attacking side, you want Kaká and Henry in it, everything else will sort itself out somehow but you want to keep hold of Kaká, surely. Think he dropped a bollock there.

Kaká is an interesting one. It was only a few drafts ago that Theon had that diamond with Pirlo, Gattuso and De Rossi and faced with a reinforcement he went Xavi instead of Kaká. In fact Kaká went unpicked altogether. No one batted an eyelid (well, I did, but it was a private rant ). Last draft you could already see him coming bck and now people are fighting over him. Mind, loads more people playing diamonds and such.

Yeah I'd prefer Cocu and Simeone flanking Veron. Give Veron his head because he's a brilliant (and under-rated nowadays) player in the right system. Simeone and Cocu are both archetypal box-to-box machines. The beauty is all three of your midfield can play in any of the three positions, but I'd certainly opt for Veron through the middle.

Now crappy is done... What do people think of Montero-Tudor-Iuliano as the defensive unit with Sorin/Alves either side? And Peruzzi in goal!

We liked the logic of it but couldn't help but feel Marquez/Helguera would be FAR better than Tudor in that central role linking with the midfield, and once you broke down the theme you may as well get a better defender than Iuliano (who was sound, a good man-marker, but not much more).

Thoughts?

I agree about a Marquez/Helguera figure through the middle there. I liked Crappy's 3-4-2-1 type idea, Sorin and Alves lend themselves very well to that formation.
