Transfer fantasy draft

Alright, Aldo can set it up I came back to do it but I am quite busy so if he can that is splendid.
 
Quoting myself (not very gentlemanly but I can't be arsed to repeat the points:

I've always been of the opinion that drafts should impose severe limitations on the managers - if not, you will end up with unplayable teams sooner rather than later. It's the nature of the game. Perhaps we're better off without players who will sway the vote to such an extent - this draft has been better than most in that regard, though. But I'd be interested in doing a draft with extreme limitations, just to see how that pans out. Could work - or it could be dull as feck, without the best players involved, who people love to talk and reminisce about.

Having thought some about it I will now say this:

Removing a certain pool of players who are so good that they hardly get scrutinized during debates - just taken for granted, really - doesn't detract from a draft at all. The ones who are really interesting to scrutinize and quarrel a bit over, are the ones who fall just outside of this group. Promote these players to the status of must-haves - and that in its turn opens up a for more unrecognized, but undoubtedly brilliant players - of the sort who will divide opinions and create entertaining discussions.

You can't aim to build a team around Maradona, Messi, C. Ronaldo, Real Ronaldo, Platini...and who else? And you can't sport a human wall in front of your keeper in the shape of Baresi, Nesta, Cannavaro, Stam, Kohler, Thuram, Maldini...and who else?

NOTE: I'm only mentioning players who have featured in this draft - but the principle is the same for old-time heroes as well. You have your share of untouchables there too.

The challenge is obviously to exclude the right ones - but I think with the experience of many regular drafters here we know fairly well who these usual suspects are.

Well, it's something to think about.
