He suffered the same fate as Conti in the worldcup draft, post-'70 European winner was just so fecking difficult to use in the team with the restrictions.

I thought about Littbarski, Rummenigge, Klinsmann as my 3 attackers in the 352 I'm trying to build here, but didn't want to play a German theme again.

One of my favourites - Littbarski. What a player. A dribbler of rare quality - but with a product to it, always. Dangerous, lethal player - who proved it at the highest level.

EDIT: Forget it, he's a bit shite actually. No reason to bid for him, everybody.

Aye, he fecked up quitting international football, would have probably bagged at least one World Cup to his name ('86), would have been a worthy inclusion in 1990, and had he not been injured he most likely would have proved the difference to unlock the Italians in '82.

I love this TP concept for future drafts and great credit to Annah for bringing it in but as we go on it would be good to have a second look at the names in the list. Schuster and Kalle have gotten the wrong end of the stick here, for example.

I guess it was because we took the xtratime lists as a reference, and a lot of names that are rated highly there are often underrated here. I think the right process to go about the TP lists would be to identify genuine vote pullers on redcafe.

Yup, a TP list is great and its imperfections will make the next draft different which makes it more fun. Rather than the same TP list for the same generation, the imperfections will make it durable long-term.

That Mathaus bid is not valid

The deadline was 04.22+12 hrs which 16.22

When you bid it was something like 17.30

Both Boniek and Lothar are ours for 50m and 70m respectvely

The last part is scarily true. All conjecture of course. But I believe you're right. They could've beaten Italy in '82 with him. Could have - I stress. But could have, as in - it's a likely enough possibility. He was a bloody good football player - and he remains a very underrated one.

Yeah, agree. I liked Anto's suggestion with the tiers of greatness from that thread on the Caf. Goats 6 points, Gods 5, Semi-Gods 4 and so on. Not sure how they named all the categories. Then give everyone 20 or 25 points and let them build a team.

Sadly no one seems to care about the Euros. Best player in our Euro win in '80, but it's usually forgotten while everyone remembers worldcups. Now that I think of the Euro '80, Ceulemans probably won't get picked either. Shame :(

Aye the important thing is to keep this in whatever form and shape. We have the room to modify it and re-categorize players and the limit of points, etc. It just gets boring by the latter stages otherwise seeing random big names being lumped together.

I had him in mind, but for a different setup, once I moved away from it he was pretty much out of it. With Platini and Guardiola he would be an overkill.
