The latter, I presume. Based on the OP it's wheeling and dealing between the managers. I suppose it would be common courtesy to inform everyone of a bid, though - so that another interested party can enter the fray should he wish to. But I would think deadlines for such deals are decided by the selling party - on an individual basis - and ditto for prices.

I am glad I am young, don't get me wrong but half of the players around in this draft I have never seen play. Can you guys recommend a ass. coach that has more knowledge about some of the older names around? I am just worried that I will look stupid when the times come to play some of the teams.

That is the fun of the game, I would have PM's instead with the other managers they can help you. Balu and Antohan has been great help to me for example teaching me a lot and a lot you learn by googling players and so forth.

It is just fun if you have your own views on things.

You'll do fine, I'm sure. The main thing is that you know your own players - and then you proceed to downvalue everyone else's something criminally. That's the fun of it all.

Seriously, though - I don't think you'll have any trouble, especially since you're upfront and sincere about it. Discussing who was what and would do what against who - is the whole purpose of the game.

This essentially, my love in with the eastern Europeans started with the drafts, learning about players such as Masopust and Vasovic, going out and doing the research about just the players opens up a lot more beyond that. Other than the fun of the drafts itself it is probably the thing I am most grateful for since becoming involved in them.

We need to make a sales list of all sold players, I will do it when I get home in some hours. Has Seedorf and Beckham been sold? Otherwise I put in a 10 million bid on them both.

We have one, if everyone would just fill it with their purchases, it wouldn't be a problem. Pretty sure both Seedorf and Beckham aren't sold yet.
 
Just to make sure, does Sammer count as a defender, so only 2 TP points? Or as a midfielder? I was under the impression that he's a defender, if you play him in his libero role?

Any player acting between the defensive line and the midfield line is counted as a midfielder in terms of TP points. As a libero's role changes depending on the match-up - he will count as a defender when his role is nearly only as a defender but as a midfielder if he is supposed to help out the midfield battle.

So if you are in a match-up against a 4-4-2 and you want Sammer on the striker duo's all night long - then he is counted as a defender.

If you are playing a team playing 4-5-1 and you suddenly want Sammer to leave the defensive line to not be 3 vs 1 there - he will count as a DM/midfielder in that match-up.

Sorry, but that's totally stupid. He's playing the exact same role both times, just adapts to the opponent. Either the libero/sweeper always counts 3 TP points as a free roaming defender, or he always counts 2 TP points. It really shouldn't be dependent on the formation of the opponent, that's a fecking nightmare to plan then.
 
Count on him as a 3 point player, but the bonus that if you ever need a pure defensive 5 then you can play him there.

It's not a bonus, quite the opposite. I would have never bid 35m for him, if his Ballon d'Or winning role as a libero doesn't count as a defender, even though he's listed as a top centerback in your op with no word mentioned that the liberos from the centerback list are all of a sudden midfielders :lol:.

Would've won the Ballon at the grand old age of...fourteen, then - if he had been eligible.

I will take him off your hands mate no worries if you don't want him. Every player acting in between midfield and defense are counted as midfielders which a libero does.

It is just a one point difference between a defender and a midfielder so if one truly wants to use a libero then they are worth as much for a team as a midfielder. If you only want to play a libero if he costs 2 points, then you probably don't really want to play a libero at all just to earn a TP point.
