Yeah, the 12 hour deadline starts for all bids at 12:00. So every bid before noon still runs until midnight.

To what extent can the bidding for a particular player go down to the wire here? Example: Crappy/Viva and me keep matching each other on Conti throughout the day. The highest bid is 100m at 23:55. Then, at 23:59 my wily adversaries launch a 105m bid - which I don't register until 00:01. Do they get Conti - or do I get a chance to match their new bid?

Absurdly hypothetical, I know - but still, something like it could happen.

Every time a new bid is made the deadline changes. Every time you make a bid you also include the time you made the bid - deadline for that bid is 12 hours after you post it.

The deadline goes back to 12hours after every new bid. Players are sold if no one bids on them for 12 hours. It's a never ending auction until everyone has a complete team. That's why we need the timestamps and move the players to the bottom of their category. The ones on top are the ones who run out the earliest, the ones at the bottom of each category run the longest. If you bid on Maradona at 3pm, the 03:00 timestamp means the bid runs until 3am in the morning and he's sold then.

We really need to make sure, that everyone moves the player to the bottom of the list with every new bid, or we're fecked. The 12 hour deadline is much more difficult to follow than the 24hour one.

Actually, now that I think of it, it shouldn't be more difficult with the 12 hour dealine, but we probably have way more players in the auction list than list time, so keeping the right order should still be important so that it won't turn into a very confusing list.

Something I've been meaning to ask you, but I keep forgetting it: how highly do you rate Sebastian Deisler? Very troubled career, ultimately ruined and cut short by injuries - but how would you rate him in terms of talent/potential?
 
I'm sure some players have disappeared off the auction list.

How does it work after the first round of matches? Do we take players off our opponents? Would 12 TP points still be the maximum you can have?

A couple of bids have been withdrawn - with Annah's permission.

Re: the TP points, I think so - i.e. 12 is and remains the limit. I like that personally. Increase it and you just end up with the same, old line-ups. If you want a TP as a playmaker and a TP as a winger...that's it. You can't sport a TP up front - or as part of your defense. I think that's brilliant - the emphasis is on balance and choosing the right player(s) to build your team around.

Deisler would still stand out in this generation of highly talented German AMs. It would have been wonderful to see an experienced Deisler leading this team, he was basically a better version of Kroos. More pace, more balls to play risky passes in attack with the same wonderful passing range and tactical understanding of the game. I would have loved to see him play during his peak with Schweinsteiger and Khedira in midfield, could have made the difference at the worldcup in 2010.
