Transfer deadline day

Inter have confirmed the signing of Japan international Yuto Nagatomo from Cesena. Great little purchase that.

Newcastle are smart - they obviously know Liverpool have the cash and desperately need a replacement for Torres. They are trying to stretch that fee for Carrol.

Just to add to the ridiculousness of the modern premier league - I have just switched on Chelsea TV to see if anything is going on - right now on is 'At home with Essien'

It is a nice house:

I'm so proud of united....we haven't been taken in by this. Liverpools owners are not chelseas or cities...they are going to have nothing in the summer when the more realistic deals are done...

 Sheesh, where'd that money come from. £72 million. I'm gonna be gutted if this is added to debt on the club. :(

I guess outgoings so far have been Torres and Babel for £57 million so a net outlay of £15 million and possibly a quiet summer window.

Torres + Babel + £15m = Suarez + Carroll + Adam

:lol::lol: I'll be very very depressed if I'm a scouser.

At least between the two of us (LFC and CFC) in this transfer window we've pushed already silly prices to ridiculous ranges now. Teams like Arsenal and Manutd who need strengthening too will be looking at crazy horse prices in the summer, specially for the likes of Modric and Bale.

Yeah, you spunking high prices is really a massive feck you in our faces

Good point, I'm looking forward to reporters asking Ferguson about value in the market.

The new UEFA rules should mean that City and Chelsea calm their spending from now on. Spurs will not qualify for the CL. Madrid and Barca will have their budgets tied up buying Llorente and Fabregas.

There are reasons to think that the market will calm down and this window was a high water mark for transfer fees.

I think what we're seeing is that FSG mean business.

Let's wait and see on the Adam fee. One guy saying 14m another saying 8m.

Ajax must be gutted they didn't hold their nerve now.

Going by price, Mesut Ozil + Sami Khedira + Rafael Van Der Vaart + Javier Hernandez = Andy Carroll. Going by weight, you get Charlie Adam.

This deadline day has eclipsed the Berba/Robinho one IMO

It just gets better and better and better

Tbf I wouldnt include Ozil on that list given he was in his last year of his contract, so his price was considerably low, would have gone for much higher had his contract still some time left.

Owen Coyle on Sky Sports: "Danniel Sturridge is the best young English striker."

Liverpool: Facepalm

That poor reporter, must have drawn the short straw, standing outside Spurs

Is Carroll going to proclaim that Liverpool are the greatest team in the country?

Andy Carroll on Merseyside! He came on a helicopter! Torres now on a helicopter!

Bloody helicopters.

@rioferdy5

Gotta say if sky sports news went pay per view on the last day of transfer window I'd pay and get my popcorn + ice cream out all day!

Sky and their helicopters again

What does it say when transfer deadline day on SSN is more enjoyable than the world cup itself?

Hear from Spanish agent that Guiseppe Rossi is very close to joing Spurs for €35.#thfc
