Gaston Ramirez has signed for Hull, 1 year loan deal.

Ben Arfa close to join Hull

That's Abel Hernandez, Ben Arfa & Gaston Ramirez all to Hull now? Fantastic piece of business.

He is on loan, if his knee goes for a third time we won't sign him. If we do he will be 30 in his second season with us.

All depends on how well he does this season then I guess. If he performs better than our current strikers and manages to go through the season without a serious injury, then I don't see the problem. Falcao will be capable for another 4 years or so in my opinion. Not very worried here. RVP, almost 32 now, is too injury prone and seems to be on the decline and likewise Rooney is just not as good as he once was and has had the worst run of games I can remember him playing in, including towards the end of last season where he was almost as woeful. Come to think of it, excluding pre season, he has been shit ever since he got the new contract. If anything, Falcao will be our saviour up front. Hopefully he will work well with one of them or we will have the same problem we did before. I have faith in LVG to see what works best for us in the long run.

Falcao is closing on 30 and just had his second ACL reconstruction. No guarantee we sign him.
He turned 28 5 months ago.
We really need to get away from this idea that players are finished when they hit 30, this isn't the beer swilling, cig smoking 1960's anymore. We are living a lot longer as a species and combined with good diets and training etc, players will be playing well into their late 30's in a lot of cases.

Disagree. Falcao's class, fine... but so's RvP and Rooney, and Hernandez was excellent too, but they've all looked shit for a while now, and it's not because of lack of ability. Super bummed that we saw it fit to ship out Welbeck, if that's indeed happening now.

De Maria's an excellent signing, no question, and we'll have to wait and see when it comes to Rojo and whether we get our shit together in defence, but I'd rather have seen a marquee signing to make sure we don't get overrun in midfield, and I'm not sure that what we have done there is going to be enough. The ONE area we ought to sort out, IMO, and instead we go the De Maria Falcao route. Excellent players, but so was Mata, and we still completely lack cohesion in the last third, so that's clearly not where we're failing at present.
Disagree on the Hernandez front. Falcao is a great signing because Rooney isn't in form currently and RvP needs surgery. I agree we needed a marquee CB and CM this summer but we have Rojo, Rafael and Shaw to come back, and Carrick, Herrera, and Blind in midfield so I think we'll be fine. Plus we can look at signing a CB and a CM in January.

But overall this summer, I think it's been an excellent transfer window for us and it's particularly pleasing that we can still attract world class talent without the lure of the champions league.

Indeed. Dependent on how their body handles the strain, some strikers such as Di Natale can stay in top form until the age of 36 or so. I think Falcao has around 4-5 good years left in him, which is certainly more that I can say for Rooney/RVP.

Bit of a kick in the balls to lose Welbeck and it will surely bite on the arse at some point in the future, but on a day when we've signed Falcao I frankly couldn't give much a shit right now to be honest. We have better options, and more promising young players.

LVG also clearly has a large set of balls and doesn't worry about appeasing anyone. Got to love his ruthlessness.

Just turned on Sky Sports News... Who on earth was that goddess that I just saw? Don't say Rene.

Don't think we'll be going for Romero now that Lindegaard's agent has confirmed he's staying.

Delaney is saying that there is absolutely no truth in the Romero to United news.

Thats Ed Woodward mate.

Ed Woodward looks like Pinocchio when he gets turned into a real boy. No mate, the woman that I saw would um... I'm trying to think of a wood or nose growing bigger joke...

I'll be very surprised if another midfielder of defender doesn't come. I mean we obviously could do with one (both really) and all the talk after DiMaria was 2 more players, probably a midfielder and defender and i know we have just bought Falcao out of the blue but i don't see why we would buy Falcao and then abandon what was really needed in terms of another defender and midfielder (yes i Know Blind can play both but he still only counts as one).

Is anyone else getting worried that we might not get the Falcao deal done? :nervous:
I wouldn't of thought so, i mean everything was sorted apart from the medical i believe so the only way we wouldn't get him was if he failed his medical.
I hope i'm right there!.:nervous:

With one hour and 15 minutes to go i doubt it.The club as enough on it's plate with the current comings and goings.
