For once I think it will do us good, get all our players fit and a chance to get to know each other and hopefully hit the ground running in our next match.

Yeah me too, although I hope he finds regular football. I think he deserves a shot playing properly up front for a good run instead of playing out left and being on and off the bench. Good luck to him.

Well then if we don't sign Falcao then we will be for another striker.
 
My phone died halfway through the day because of transfer deadline day, madness.

There's part of me that loves it but then there's another one that utterly loathes it. £18m for Welbeck is a great deal for you lot, wonder how he will do with the Arse.
 
Gutted that it's a permanent deal for Danny. Really like him and rate him and he's never had a long run of games here to prove himself. Would have much preferred him to go on loan so we could see whether he can score any goals or not. But still maybe LVG doesn't see a future for him in his plans and if so, £18 million is a good deal.
 
BBC saying that United and Arsenal have agreed a 16 mil pound fee for Welbeck. Permanent deal.
 
Not sure how teams can negotiate multi million pound deals, sort out contracts, agree terms and conduct medicals in a two hour window. It's madness. It's a risky game this deadline day madness

Disagree. Falcao's class, fine... but so's RvP and Rooney, and Hernandez was excellent too, but they've all looked shit for a while now, and it's not because of lack of ability. Super bummed that we saw it fit to ship out Welbeck, if that's indeed happening now.

De Maria's an excellent signing, no question, and we'll have to wait and see when it comes to Rojo and whether we get our shit together in defence, but I'd rather have seen a marquee signing to make sure we don't get overrun in midfield, and I'm not sure that what we have done there is going to be enough. The ONE area we ought to sort out, IMO, and instead we go the De Maria Falcao route. Excellent players, but so was Mata, and we still completely lack cohesion in the last third, so that's clearly not where we're failing at present.
 
Interesting to hear what Rene has to say about his boys Cleverley and Welbeck maybe leaving the nest tonight..
