Transfer Deadline Day - 2/2/2015

and Harry Wheeler-Dealer was already in top form on Friday too

On selling Jordon Mutch to Crystal Palace: "We had an offer for him, it was a money-back type of deal. Jordan's a good lad and I like him a lot but he hadn't got up and running."

On potential incoming transfers: "I'm sure there's plenty of potential with Jordan but we're looking to bring in one or two so we had to bring some money in. But we're still struggling to find someone to bring in - that's the problem."

On whether he is looking to offload wingers Junior Hoilett and Matty Phillips: "I would rather Junior and Matty stay here. Les Ferdinand said there has been some interest in Junior from a German club. But we're not overloaded with players and we're looking to strengthen not weaken."

On speculation linking Dutch winger Leroy Fer away from Loftus Road: "Absolute rubbish. Nonsense. I've had no offers for anybody."

Emmanuel Adebayor?: "I don't see that happening. He's an excellent player - you don't play for Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Tottenham if you're not. I wouldn't see him leaving Tottenham - it's too expensive a deal for us. We're looking for loans. I' don't know if he is available on loan."

Dani Osvaldo?: "No. Nothing there. That's not because of the baggage of his history at Southampton - he's a good player. We couldn't afford him basically. He's on big, big wages. I think there are options in Italy for him."

Bakary Sako?: "Made an enquiry and that's as far as it went. Les Ferdinand spoke to the people at Wolverhampton - it's not gone any further."

Yann M'Vila?: He belongs to Rubin Kazan, that's not going to happen.

Rudy Gestede?: No, not going to happen.

Aaron Lennon?: Good player - not spoke to anyone at Tottenham about that.

More from Harry: "We can sit and talk about players all day, but you need to get them over the line. We're nowhere near yet."

Said in another thread, think this will be the worst deadline day in years. Can't see any big teams making moves apart from potentially Cuadrado for Chelsea.

They said on BT last night that he would have fitted our team better than Chelsea's. It was James Horncastle their Italian expert who said it. Said he would suit our system better. Whatever system that is.

I tend to agree with them, would of been the best RWB option for Van Gaal if he wants to play the beloved 3-5-2 in the future.

I appreciate LVG's honesty so I don't waste my entire evening watching this.

I used to watch it just for the fans at the training grounds getting excited over someone they had never ever heard of. The idiots in the summer have put paid to that. Will just put it on to annoy my son. No Jake and The Neverland Pirates for him.

gonna be a long sad day lads

Nah going to be pretty much what I expected this window to be. Unless a player we were after became available we were not going to buy. We were not going to buy just to buy. Overall seemed like a pretty quiet window this year, not just for us. A few players moving but no 'HOLY SHIT" moments.

Wonder who they will link us with to try create interest.

Even Jim White as is work cut out for this transfer day.

Deadline day is a good example of something jumping the shark. It was all good fun for about 5 minutes, but now whenever they cut to Jim White walking into the building i just cringe. It's like your teacher laughing at a joke they overheard you telling your mates.

Transfer Deadline Day is sullied forever since Jim White carried out The Benatia Betrayal.

Cuadrado to Chelsea, can't see anything else major happening

How ridiculous that the transfer deadline ends at different times for different football federations. All GMT: Germany 5pm, Spain midnight, Portugal tomorrow and Russia … 27th Feb!!!

How can that even work? Who can Russia trade with for the rest of the month other than other Russian clubs?

The deadlines only relate to buying and registering new players. Anyone can sell a player after their own deadline so Russian clubs can buy from anywhere.

Maybe it's just for us? So our transfer muppets can get an early night instead of waiting until midnight to find out whether we really are going to sign a deadline day double of Mats Hummels and Kevin De Bruyne!

I didn't want us to sign anyone this window so I haven't had even a fleeting interest. I'll happily sign up for a dose of muppetitis in the summer.

If Anderson goes today Ed can pat himself on the back and we can all be happy.
