Double dHuez was so worth it. Should do these double climb stages every year......though tomorrow isn't so supposed to be any easier, just climbing the classics climbs twice is just ultra special.
 
So much clutching at straws here with comments like 'after lance getting caught, no one would be stupid enough to dope'.....
Well someone who fancys becoming amulti millionaire many times over from victory and endorcements would probably feel the risks are worth it...
Lance arstrong was the highest earning athlete on the planet at the height of his career...his net worth was estimated before he came clean at $125 million and it is estimated after all his law suits and winnings cash has been returned that his estimated wealth will still stand between $50 to the$70 million big ones....if thats not enough incentive for an athlete to cheat a system that is not as straight forward as once was but still very easy to cheat with a bit of imagination then I don't know what is
Sorry to be the guy that tells you that Santa doesn't exist but you'll find out one day or another whether you wish yo or not...I guess its only a matter of time before some of the very elite players in football start to get caught but any allegations against them will probably come 20 years after they retired such is the protection they will have from major sponsers

Riders aren't allowed to get water/food from their cars during the last part of the stage. Sky broke that rule. Insane from a top-professional like Froome to make such a mistake (needing the food at that stage).

Pretty stupid rule, they aren't happy with you eating but they are fine with fans putting flags in riders faces

Probably got off easy to be honest. If Froome was running very low on sugar he could easily have dropped more than 20 seconds on the last part. Luckily it most likely won't mean anything as it seems like he'll win with a big margin, so the penalty is most likely just for show really. Would've been interesting to see if the penalty had been different if an opponent was within a minute or two.
 
I swear the fans are getting worse. They are getting closer and closer to the riders. There's going to be a real problem soon which will end up with fences.

What a great stage again. Tomorrow will be tough too and even 20 is no easy stage. Thinking the overall will finish 1. Froome, 2. Quintana and 3. a coin toss between Contador and Rodriguez.

Ah, ok - fair enough then. Still seems a bit low to me though, but if that's the rules. :)

Just read Froome's explanation. Of the thing - pretty pathetic tbh:
"At the end of the day a rule is a rule and if I’ve been given 20 seconds I’ll have to take that, but if you look at the technicality it was actually Richie Porte who fed from the car not myself. I fed from Richie Porte so maybe that’s something that needs to be taken in consideration," he said.

"I’m just happy to get through the stage and come out of it with more of an advantage than I went into it.

"We had a mechanical problem with the car so it wasn't with us at the bottom of the last climb, that was the problem. I was just getting in (to the finish) the best I could in the last few kilometres. I don’t know if getting something from the car made any difference really."

Just admit it, you idiot. If the car did have issues on the climb and they couldn't get gels from it sooner that sort of excuses him for ending up in that position, but acting all innocent doesn't really help him. It was clear as day to everyone that he was always the one needing it and Porte just went to collect it for him. Froome even called for the car himself :rolleyes:

Only heard that the officials called for an extra check at the end shortly after Contador changed bike for the second (I believe) time. Can't find any news on them finding the bike too light.
