Didn't see a thread on it.

Should be interesting this year with the Sky team from a Noggie and British viewpoint. Looking forward like hell to see Boasson Hagen this year. Fantastic prospect, and I think he will take a stage win or two. Has been injured by showed great form just today by winning a stage in the Criterium Dauphine.

I think Cavendish will be interesting to watch to, really wants the green this year. Hushovd has been injured and hasn't had the optimal spring, but will still be a contender.

For the allround it is hard to look past Contador. Hopefully the Schlecks and Wiggins can be up there as well. Lance I hope fails.

Contador is definately the man to beat. And to be honest, apart from Andy Schleck, I don't really see anyone who can. Not if Contador is in good form and doesn't have too much bad luck.

But there is a stage through Holland and Flanders, so big chance of a peleton broken up in lots of pieces because of the wind. If you're not attentive at such a moment, even the best riders can lose a huge amount of time.

The same with the stage over the Paris-Roubaix cobblestones. Anything can happen there.

For the green jersey, it's quite open I think. Cavendish is the most naturally gifted sprinter, but this year he's been quite far from his form of last year. So we'll have to wait and see. People like Farrar, Boonen, Hushovd, etc. have a chance as well.

For the white jersey, I'm hoping on Van den Broek (assuming Andy Schleck is too old now to compete?). Big climb-talent riding his first Tour now. His Daupniné was quite good so his form should be ok.

Contador is big favourite. However, he didn't look anywhere near as good in the Dauphine as he did last year in that race. AND the RadioShacks will have a much stronger team than Astana at the tour, that must concern Contador.

Well, most of the main riders did move from Team Astana to RadioShack who were also from Team Discovery I presume.
I like that rider Popovych who is a good team player. He excelled with Discovery and then with Astana.

Team Sky has Bradley Wiggins (and great talent Boasson Hagen). But I don't think they can form a team that can match either Astana, Team Saxo or Radioshack.
Cavendish is still employed with Team Columbia (the old T-Mobile).

Janez Brajkovic seems to be in good form and could do well in the GC if he goes with Radioshack. Armstrong doesn't have a shot, but Leipheimer could.

Really looking forward to this year, I don't take as much interest in cycling as I'd like to.

I'm being fickle and 'supporting' two teams this year - RadioShack (purely for Armstrong, my idol) and Team Sky.

Incidentally Armstrong has just confirmed on Twitter this will be his last Tour.

Where is this broadcast in the UK?

UK Eurosport will be showing live coverage every day, plus a highlight package.

ITV 4, tend to show highlights of the day and then the final hour's racing every day.

I don't think Wiggo will win, but I do think he may improve on his placing from last year, I think Sky have surprised a few people with the way the team have come together so quickly. Lance is perhaps one Tour to many for me, he looked old at times last year, and another year and another year disrupted by time off injured. However, he's great for the sport, loads of publicity and you mention the race and everyone mentions him. Contador isn't such a figure just yet, well not world wide to those not interested in cycling.

Haven't been able to watch the prologue because of the football, but apparently the rain is making it very difficult for the late starters.

Yeah, Wiggins went early to avoid the rain but it had started by the time he got out there. Tony Martin went 30 minutes before, in the dry, and is still leading.

Stopped raining but still very wet on the roads.

Armstrong did great last year.

Will be hard to beat Contador but anything's possible. Would be great if he could bow out with a 8th TdF

David Millar just got second place, 10 seconds behind Martin. Two Brits in the top 3 as it stands. I still think Cancellara will be up there at the end of today, he's one of the last to go.

Armstrong looks ready.

He's in 4th place at the moment I believe.

Not bad. Please inform me when Contador and Armstrong get going :D

They should be going last and 3rd last respectively, right?

Schleck is off. This guy has a serious chance this time. He and bro were great last year.

Yeah, think Armstrong is off in about 15 minutes, then Cancellara then Contador.

Andy Schleck finished quite a way behind. 103rd as it stands.

Schleck will do better in the mountains in the 2nd and 3rd weeks.

Hope Armstrong does well

Lance is off, big cheers for him. Contador off now too. He got just as many cheers.

Cancellara just went through the first checkpoint 6 seconds faster than the current leader. Wow. He's quick. Roads drying now.

Armstrong finishes 3rd as it is.

Cancellara's got his race number upside down, the gimp.

feck me, Cancellara is brilliant. 1st place, 10 minutes.

 Yeah number 13 right?

 Yeah.

1. Cancellara
2. Martin
3. Millar
4. Armstrong
5. Thomas
6. Contador

Big result for Armstrong over Contador, but brilliant from Cancellara.

Just 3631 kilometers more for Armstrong to maintain a lead over Contador. :D

Yeah it really looks much better than his Astana of last year

Lance's bike today was

If Landis is to be believed, he used to sell some his bikes to pay for doping.

Cancellara won last night, which was no shock. Amazing how strong he is at time trials.

Today might be the first mass sprint. I think both Hushovd and Cavendish are a bit unsure about their form (Hushovd is anyway) so it will be interesting.
