Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • Really surprised by those selecting Dalot. I'm not one of his "haters" but he's been poor lately and was particularly poor against Leicester. Amad and Dorgu at wingback please.
He’s started every game under Amorim I think so it’s not surprising they are selecting him.

The 'not enough time to train' excuse will become 'too much time to train' if Spurs win.

If Kinsky is in goal for Spurs we simply have to bombard him with shots on target... none of this zero in first half and 1 or 2 in 2nd half please.

United should go at them like it's a cup game. Spurs couldn't be any closer to rock bottom right now and they seem to get turned over by any team that has a bit of fight.

Trouble is, do the MU players have any fight left or will Tottingham be spurred on (sorry) by decent results in the past few years.

They seem ripe for the taking though. Some team is going to put 6/7/8 past them at some point before Big Ange gets told it's over now.

    El Pathetico
    :lol: :nervous::lol:
    I truly believe that this setup is our best hope for goals(can't continue playing so pragmatic, doesn't help our shit concentration at the back anyways...);

    Onana
    Maz-DeLigt-Yoro
    Amad-Ugarte-Bruno-Dorgu
    Zirkzee-Garnacho
    Højlund
Hojland and goals just don’t really work in the same sentence

    Onana
    Maz — — DeLigt — — Yoro
    Amad Ugarte Bruno Dorgu
    Zirkzee Mainoo
    Garnacho

    Onana
Mazraoui - De Ligt - Yoro
    Dalot - Ugarte - Bruno - Dorgu
    Amad - Zirkzee - Garnacho

Makes complete sense but you know we'll scramble those players around for shits and giggles, get twatted and then come the 2nd half we'll line up like this.

We haven’t beat them in the last 5 games and if we lose this one, it would be no win vs spurs in 6 games in a row and losing 3 games in a row in one season. It’ll be embarrassing if we let spurs do that. So please win.

    Onana
Mazraoui - de Ligt - Yoro
    Ugarte - Bruno
    Amad - Mainoo - Garnacho - Dalot
    Hojlund

My only input is that Garnacho should not start.

When he comes on as a sub, he makes things happen. That is 1 out of 3 ways we score goals at the moment via a Garnacho cameo. If he starts, we lose one of the ways we can score.

Amorim's going to spring a tactical surprise again, isn't he? Hojlund as a goalkeeper and Onana as a striker, just to see if it suits them better...? Hojlund doesn't seem to be very good at scoring and Onana at goalkeeping, so would swapping them work?

    Onana
De Ligt - Maguire - Maz
    Dalot - Ugarte - Bruno - Dorgu
    Amad - Mainoo
    Hojlund
Garnacho/Zirkzee coming off the bench. Really hope we see Dorgu on the left. Don't want Garnacho to start simply because he's so much more impactful coming off the bench.

I think we will beat them. It's long overdue, we're away from home and we'll have had 9 days to train and prepare.

If you look at how we played in the last 30 minutes against Leicester it was actually pretty good and very much on the front foot.

I spoke to a guy at the weekend who is a qualified coach and he said he can see some very good attacking patterns in the way united are playing and it's more the issue that players are not getting into key positions fast enough to finish it off. Hence about 4 cut backs to nobody on Friday. He liked what he saw of Dorgu as well. Thinks he's made for this league. He's not a United fan just to be clear so no red tinted specs.

They're rock bottom and I still doubt we'll win.

Not a great time to play them, actually. They've looked dead on their feet for weeks but have several key players returning to full training this week and no midweek game. Unfortunately, with fresh players and a week's rest, I think they'll be much improved at the weekend, particularly their pressing game.

Would love to lock up the middle and use our flanks to attack

    Onana
    Mazraoui De Ligt Yoro
    Amad Ugarte Collyer Dorgu
    Mainoo Garnacho
    Bruno
Hate Bruno anywhere in the middle as he hits too many silly long balls and here he can't do that.

Or, their returning players will not be quite match fit or fully match sharp and we catch them at the best moment to play them.

I expect the reality will be they come at us like wild things for the first 30 minutes playing on adrenaline, and if we can see that out without conceding we'll have every chance to beat them.

Two teams in dire form, even if we've managed to win four of the last five. Tottenham is missing so many players that we really should be winning it, though.

I hope we don't use a cowardly line-up again. They are missing so many defenders, so let's actually get at them.

    Onana
Mazraoui - De Ligt - Yoro
    Amad - Ugarte - Collyer - Dorgu
    Bruno - Garnacho
    Zirkzee
Use Amad at RWB, where he has generally been most effective. Ugarte and Collyer to provide the highest amount of energy in midfield. Garnacho is in form so start him with an actual left-footed overlapping LWB in Dorgu. Start Zirkzee and hope we see more of his decent hold-up play.

I will be extremely disappointed if we go with Dalot on LWB and Mazraoui or Dorgu on RWB, but I half expect that to happen. It seems like Amorim is married to the idea of inverted wingbacks on both sides.

Zirkzee and Garnacho have played their way into the starting 11 for now. I would also like to see Amad at RWB and Dorgu at LWB but that's probably asking for too much from a manager who loves starting with 7 defensive players and writing off the first half of games.

I've honestly never been more confident of a Man Utd side losing games than this one. Anything else would be a welcome surprise.

    This is the turnaround game....

Were going to win and its going to be a really good performance.

    Mark my words

    Or dont

Tactically I think he'll start Hojlund given their high line. I hope he starts both Hojlund/Zirkzee to be honest, play Bruno lone 10, if ever there was a team to try and go a bit more offensive it is Spurs who basically can't defend.

I hope he just goes Dalot RWB and Dorgu LWB and we try to put a lot more crosses in.

First game in a long time where I honestly couldn't predict how it's gonna go. Can see every scenario, a bore 0-0 or scoring draw, them beating us by a couple or a defensive mistake, us somehow getting our act together. Just please play folk in their right positions at least.

This is the worst these two teams have been in a long, long time. And yet we've managed to lose to them twice already this season. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 3 or 4 times by the end of the season.

Hopefully we can click into gear vs Spurs. I think they suit us and leave gaps behind, if we can put together a controlled performance with chance creation, it could go a long way.

    Ha ha. Aren't we all?

But in all seriousness , I would love us to beat Spurs for once (Keeganasque). We have had some dodgy results against them recently and just can't seem to beat them. Esp with Ange.

My only hope is we have now had a week of training ,, hopefully some ideas have percolated through.

On current form this could truly be a clash to determine the shiniest of two turds.

You’d hope we will have enough about us to get the win.

    It should be

    .................... Onana

    ...... de Ligt - Maguire - Yoro

    Mazraoui - Ugarte - Bruno - Dorgu

    .... Amad - Zirkzee - Garnacho

    You sonofabitch, I’m in.

Two teams just as shite as each other but they are slightly more clinical than us and are at home. Narrow win for them I would guess.

Probably the best line-up we can field atm
