The competition for his signature next summer will be much tougher, though - the relative affordability of the release clause will mean that both of the Spanish giants will definitely be in, as probably will Bayern, United, Juve, Liverpool etc. Chelsea and City have an advantage this summer, in that they can feasibly afford what none of the others currently can. That advantage evaporates next year - it's now or never for Chelsea, I reckon.
