Watford also have a fairly difficult set of fixtures coming up as well (Crystal Palace in their vicinity, Newcastle table-toppers and QPR also in their vicinity) - not surprised Watford took him off (along with Helguson and Graham, probably their other best players).

Hope this doesn't come to pass. We've got a very nice loan deal happening for once, don't want to see anything spoiling it.

Cash-strapped Watford face administration threat
• Watford need £5.5m in three weeks to survive
• Championship club facing 10-point deduction

Watford have until Christmas to secure new funding or they could be forced into administration and face a 10-point deduction. The cash-strapped Championship club's holding company revealed the severity of the situation yesterday, despite being loaned £1m by the club chairman three days ago.

Watford Leisure borrowed the money from Valley Grown Salads – which is controlled by the club's chairman, Jimmy Russo, and his brother, Vicenzo – to meet immediate cash-flow demands, but had to announce on the London stock exchange yesterday that an additional £5.5m would be needed in just over three weeks if the club are to stave off administration until the end of the season. "The November loan will only be sufficient to cover the company's cash requirements until 22 December," the statement said. "In the event that further funding is not available to the club before 22 December 2009, then the board would seek a suspension of trading in Watford Leisure's shares pending clarification of its financial position."

Watford, who sit ninth in the Championship table with 27 points from their opening 18 matches, have outstanding loans of almost £5m, the vast majority of which is owed to Russo's Valley Grown Salads and secured against the club's Vicarage Road stadium. The manager, Malky Mackay, has exceeded most expectations so far this season following a summer exodus that saw his predecessor, Brendan Rodgers, leave for Reading after just six months in charge. Rodgers took the midfielder Jobi McAnuff with him to the Madejski Stadium. The striker Tamas Priskin joined Ipswich Town and last season's top scorer Tommy Smith, along with the defender Mike Williamson, departed for Portsmouth as the Hornets tried desperately to cut their wage bill, which was estimated to account for more than three-quarters of their turnover.

It's possible, although he seems settled there and enjoying his football so it may be the best option for him to stay for the remainder of the season.

Hypothetically speaking, is there any chance he would stay if he came back? I can't see it myself, but he might provide valuable squad cover as well as being eligible for the CL knockout stages (I think he still qualifies on the B list so there wouldn't be any problems registering him), especially if we had an injury crisis on the wings.

The problem would be that it's the business end of the season so less chance for giving younger players a chance and it might stall his development as he has progressed past reserve level football. I would prefer him to take another loan, if Watford doesn't work out then he could maybe go to Leicester where he was succesful the season before or even Newcastle, but only if he has a chance of becoming a regular. The pressure of being involved in a promotion fight could be very beneficial for him.

There are 2 Carling cup fixtures and atleast 1 Fa cup 3rd round match.. If he is not cup tied for those I can see him staying atleast till the end of the month i.e if Watford do not take him on for the rest of the season..

TBH we have a form crisis on the wings. To the extent the left wing is ruled by a former winger. Who we can't do without anymore. Yet he is too old to use all the time.

thanks for this .. was bored ..
*goes looking for a stream*

veetle is good
is that ben watson in the QPR starting XI.. wasnt he at wigan

He's done well so far, he's certainly not afraid to have a go at goal.

cleverly getting into the game .
looks very comfortable .. wants the ball , passes it around well

1-1
cleverley played an important part .. kept the ball , played it wide left

While I would love to see a young player succeed there's no need to overstate everything he does. He was involved in the build up but the Watford right winger did very well to set up Doyley

Heh, though he did open up the play with a slick turn which lead to the goal, but he can hardly take the credit for the goal.

There has been a lot of talk about Gibson's mobility - Cleverly is certainly mobile, it's been great to watch him in action.

:D

he did switch play from right to left .. lost his footing , kept the ball , got up and found the doyley out wide . not bad

Great assist by Cleverly, the boy looks very promising.
