Really well taken goal, playing well so far.

Still not sure why so many on here don't rate him that highly, he's clearly a very good little player, with bucket loads of potential. Beautifully taken goal today.

Such a clever player for someone so young as well. He's got such a good football brain, always seems to be looking around him, very Scholes-esque in that respect.

2/3 fantastic performances on the bounce now. Seems to be developing more and more to his game - today he looked excellent in the tackle.

Great goal.

Great game from him today and thought he showed a lot of willingness to make things happen, lovely goal as well, him and Carrick are getting a good understanding and balance well. Still needs to work on the defensive side of his game which was much more evident when Carrick went off.

Said this in the matchday thread but I really think Tom wouldn't look out of place in the current Dortmund side, his quick one touch play is fantastic and he immediately makes himself available as soon as he releases the ball. Man of the match for me as well.

Very good in the first half, really got forward and influenced the play at times and kept things moving in deeper areas as well.

Please please please can someone GIF that pass he made in the second half, where he fizzed it across to Young I think, it was beautiful

Indeed. Second goal was class. movement was perfect

Him and jack wilshere are going to be the future of the England squad. We might actually get to see an England side that can pass the ball properly in the near future. Imagine that.

Nah we'll still have Steven Gerrard still around to pump the ball to the opposition and run around a lot no worries.

More limited in the second half, partly due to Scholes for Carrick and partly due to the whole team's attitude (grrrr), but in the first half that 'lack of creativity' people have been moaning about was nowhere to be seen. Plenty of decent balls over the top and through the middle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - all it takes for Tom to move from being an incredibly good possession player to being an incredibly good possession player with a sharp eye for assists and goals is a run of games. He's only had three so far and he already looks more dangerous and influential.

Course he'll probably start next to Jones or Giggs or someone next week, so it'll all be academic.

weakest part of his game. Staying with the play. He did the same last week at City.

And this from a guy who apparently only makes short passes...

...or so I've been told. ;)

Also been informed the lad can't shoot either and that all his short passes simply keep the play going and never lead to anything. This 1-2 with Carrick, clearly another road to nowhere...

goals/assists change perceptions. It's a shame it takes that just to notice how a good a player is. Excellent game from him. Lovely gifs.

In that gif showing cleverley's goal, notice carrick's movement to open himself up as an option. If that doesn't solidify these two have something going, I don't know what does.

Likewise watching him develop as a player is wonderful to see. I really hope him and welbeck are the new giggs and scholes type figures for us.

I've been told he has no outstanding attributes to become the top player here, actually, he has, look at the way he make space for himself, the way he pass and move, definitely top drawer.

His finishing isn't bad either, eventually he'll gain enough confidence to bury those long range shots he sometimes likes tot take. Cleverley can get himself among the goals as we saw yesterday with a sublime finish.

I've been critical of Cleverly in the past, but he looked very good yesterday. I was quite impressed, hopefully he can push on and keep adding more facets to his game and gain more confidence.
