Gaming Tom Clancy's - The Division | Division 2 announced

The clan is currently set to open, so you can search for RedCafe and join or add me and I'll invite you - Brocky36

Glad to hear they're sorting the skill bug. It's so annoying seeing your Striker drone vanish on the way to it's first target. When the thing actually works, it kicks ass, too!

I hit level 30 last night then ran DZ for a while. I got an instance with nobody else in and played for a couple of hours, picking up some decent gear.

Thanks. I’m only level 5 at the moment so not sure if I’ve unlocked clans yet, but will join when I do. Think I read somewhere you need to be level 8. I’ve got a day off work tomorrow and I’m going to have a decent session so should be level 8 some time tomorrow.

Yeah, you need the staff member If you add me, I can send you the invite which you can accept when you're able.

Have you changed your account? I already have Swooshboy. Sent a PSN invite to that one, though.
I told my son he could join the clan - so swooshboy will join although he said he won't be on the mic when he plays :)

Have you sent an invite to my s_w_oo_s_h_b_o_y account as well?

Will try and join this eve!

Buying this today I reckon.

I have 200 Ubi coins that are expiring on March 31, 100 gives me a 20% discount at the Ubisoft store. Anyone want a discount code? PM me.

So what’s the consensus with this? I’ve had my eye on it but have read divisive opinions.

I only played the beta for the first game and thought it was alright, then never touched it again. I did enjoy the first Destiny game though if that’s any indication as to whether I’d like this.

I’m also certain that none of my mates would be interested in getting this, will I be alright on my own?

I love it, but i also loved the first. The only real reason i stopped playing the first, is because they may of listened to the community to much and things just kept changing, the endgame wasn't great and other games came along.

How ever they have sorted out the endgame, and it seems they got a lot of stuff nailed so they won't be changing certain systems every 5 minutes like they did with the original.

You can play on your own, i have done at times, but it certainly is better in a group. Luckily they have a great system to get you into a group with other players if you don't have friends to play with. Also their is a lot of people on the caf that play.

Hard to really say if you'll like it, tbh. If you enjoyed Destiny and get the whole 'replaying the missions to get better loot' thing, then that's a good start. As for playing on your own - you can do that but it's going to be much better with others. There's a Caf clan running with 9 members so far. There's no real commitment required but you can hop into groups with others as and when you want to.

Thanks guys. I took the plunge and I’m downloading it now.

What platform does the caf clan play on? I’m on PC.

So, I'm up to GS 289 now and just got bumped up to WT2. So basically from now on it's just a matter of doing the invasion missions and then doing the strongholds? Is there a GS cap for the PvE activities that require you to go into the DZ in order to max out your gear score?

So I’ve been playing this coming in blind (not played the first game) and have reached level 7.

So far I’ve done everything solo which I’ve been managing just fine. Will there be a point where I’ll probably have to group up to deal with tougher content or will I be OK to carry on lone wolfing it?

Playing solo is very punishing because while enemy hp is scaled down you don’t have anyone to revive you if you make a mistake and die. Plus, progress resets in activities if you die halfway through and some checkpoints in missions can be really tough. Also, there are some deaths that are pretty much unavoidable with the AI flanking and pretty much killing you before you have time to react so that was very frustrating for me to have to do stuff over and over due to things that I felt I really couldn’t avoid.

I’ve been matchmaking for the later story missions and strongholds. The matchmaking system is top notch though so I’d definitely get on that if I were you.

At what point did you start match making? As in what level range?

Brocky started helping me out from level 5, so I couldn’t tell you to be honest at what point I would’ve started, but I did the rest with matchmade groups from level 26 and onwards.

Nah, I'm around 430-something GS and I've barely been in the DZ. I actually forgot it even existed until my mate mentioned it last night. I did the missions to get to World Tier 4 then replayed some missions on hard and it started raining loot on me. Once you get to WT4 you get the control points having levels, you do connected activities to raise alert levels which makes control points harder and gives better loot. You can get it all from the main game without touching the DZ.

Really enjoying this game, but the lack of character customisation really lets it down. Only getting to pick from like 4 hairstyles is awful.

No I’m 450 and not even unlocked the DZ yet

gonna repost this information here because its useful

the Division 2 first major content update releases next Friday, April 5th. It's a pretty impressive one. It's also free for everyone. (this is not one of the already announced 3 planned episodes that are also free for everyone)

The title update includes:
- Tidal Basin stronghold mission (a new, lengthy mission with plot unlocking more invaded missions)
- World Tier 5 unlocks upon completing that mission (a new world tier dropping stronger gear than is currently available - level 450-500)
- The first 3 gear sets released (gear sets are green-coloured drops that give bonuses for being fully equipped in them (**True Patriot, focusing on buffs for your team when they hit debuffed enemies, plus Ongoing Directive (focused on resource gathering) and Hard Wired (focused on skills adding shock effect, reducing cooldowns and getting buffs to damage)
- A new heroic difficulty level (no checkpoints, akin to challenge of level 4 control points, drops more gear, but no gear is locked behind this difficulty - you just get more of it -- very generous rewards, not exclusive rewards)
- New invaded missions (these reset on a weekly timer and are not limited to the missions that are already invaded on the map - aka, essentially new missions in old environments). When these are active during a week, you can toggle between the standard or invaded mission types. Completing them for the first time each week nets you a bonus reward.

Before that, patch 1.7 (dropping tomorrow) includes:
  • improvements to frame rate drops
  • fixes to the remaining bugs plaguing skills not deploying correctly
  • fixes to scaling related to playing with friends above your level (mainly armor changes)
  • fix to menu bug with controllers where marking mods as junk and skipping categories were mapped to the same button
  • push-to-talk enabled by default for VOIP player.
  • colour for clan members being changed in game (so not same colour as elite enemies)

It's all a bit too good to be true compared to experiences with other live service games in the past - even including Division 1

You have to hand it to them for doing a terrific job with Division 2 so far.

Got all the parts for the desert eagle... bbut don't have an exotic desert eagle to upgrade them with. Arg.

Need a shower after saying this but I’ve slightly warmed to Ubisoft lately. Never thought that this year they’d be amongst my favourite publisher, an EA game is my currently most played and Bethesda and Epic are my currently most disliked publishers.

From gameinformer:

It wouldn't be a patch without some weapon balance, and I'm sad to report that the fan favorite M700 and Mk17 are getting weapon-damage nerfs to bring them more in line with other weapons in their classes. Conversely, the lightweight M4, ACS-12, MG5 and LVOA-C are getting buffs. Those who chose the sniper specialization will be happy to learn Massive has fixed the accuracy issue causing players to miss with their special ammo.

@Brocky You were right.

Very annoying they are nerfing the MK17 - love that weapon!

I think if they do, then it makes the Rifle class a bit of a non-starter and people will just use an AR instead, which is a shame for build diversity.

Other patch notes here:

Invasion: Battle for D.C.
Maintenance
The Invasion: Battle for D.C. – Update will drop on Friday during the regular maintenance from 9:30 am CET – 12:30 CET that will last for about 3 hours.

First Apparel Event
  • With the “Invasion: Battle for D.C.” we will also get the first Apparel Event

  • The Special Event will last for four weeks (April 5th – May 2nd) where players can get Special Event Caches.

  • The Special Event Caches contain cool new outfits and other things like emotes.

  • You can also get Masks from these caches.

  • Everybody will get one Special Event Cache for free in the first week – if you log in before Thursday.

  • Year 1 Pass owners get three additional free caches when they log in during the event.

  • There will be ways to gain more free caches – like specific projects that you can finish.

  • Special Event Caches don’t have any duplicates.
These are only highlights of the upcoming update.

Announced Bug Fixes

  • When your Crafting Station is stuck on a lower World Tier, that will be fixed with this update.

  • You will get a sensitivity slider for when you zoom in.

  • Field of View slider will also be added with this update.

  • There will be many more bug fixes that will be listed in the Patch Notes

Balancing Changes

  • With “Invasion: Battle for D.C.” we will also have the first balancing pass

  • Keep in mind, it is very early in the lifecycle so this is a first step in balancing to address some peaks.

  • There is also a lot of talk about PVP – this update will not focus specifically on PVP balance, this is something for a later date – but some of the small changes will, of course, impact PVP.

  • The Sniper M700 and the Rifle MK17 will get a damage reduction.

  • Crit Damage and Headshot Damage will be lowered across all existing gear, so if you have equipment with these stats on it, they will be different when you log in on Friday.

  • “Safeguard Talent” (extra healing) will get an internal cooldown so that it can’t be up all the time

  • Demolitionist Talent “Crisis Response” (when armor breaks you replenish your ammo) will also get an internal cooldown.
Skills Changes
Sniper Turret
  • Sniper Turret has been reworked

  • You will have a button above an enemy and the Turret will then shoot that NPC and it will automatically track it.

  • When you aim at the same NPC you can also specifically control where the shot will go (headshot or weakpoint etc)

  • That should make the Sniper Turret more accessible.
Chem Launcher
  • The handling of the Chem Launcher has been a bit awkward.

  • Now when you activate the Chem Launcher, it will activate and you can use it like a weapon until you put it away.

  • That should also give you more control about the skill
FireFly
  • Aiming mechanism has been reworked, so you can mark targets faster
Skill Mods
  • The Skill Mods have been revamped

  • The Bonuses you get from the Skill Mods correlate now with the amount of Skill Power required to unlock them.

  • They are now within the bounds of the Skill Power that you can get on your gear and they also changed the amount of Skill Power that you get on your gear.

  • So even when you have less Skill Power on your gear when you log in on Friday, don't panic, you may be able to unlock a lot of mods that you could before.

  • With these changes skill builds should become a lot more viable.
Weapon Mods changes
  • As of now, the Weapon Mods always had a positive or negative aspect on them.

  • But that meant, what was designed as a reward for missions and activities could also have a very negative effect on your build

  • That is why all the Weapon Mods have been rewamped:

  • All weapon mods got new values, new positives, more in line what they would do in real life

  • They also have lower values – since they don’t have their drawbacks anymore.

  • The only time there are negatives now on the Weapon Mods is when there are multiple mods – like magazines – one of them will have higher positive values, but also some negative values.

  • For every slot, there is a mod for every type of stat that has no negative values.

  • Now you can choose the mods you want to use and that should also be more fun.
Other Changes
  • Sharpshooter Signature Weapon has a faster lock – on, so if you had the feeling that you often missed the shot with the signature weapon, this should be addressed.

  • LVOA-C, the Lightweight M4, the Shotgun AA12, LMG MG5 got a buff
Patch Notes
  • They will be extensive, currently we have no exact date when they drop.

Am glad that they are changing the weapon mods - there is an inherent annoyance at equipping a mod that has a negative value. I don't mind on the magazines - choosing between reload speed, size of mag etc is fine. But adding stability at the expense of accuracy feels like a negative experience!

It felt like a bit of a non-starter in the endgame anyway for me. I just couldn't nail big damage with it and the rate of fire of the AR and SMG made them better for taking down enemies quickly.

Don’t like the fact they have hard nerfed the amount of specialist ammo it is ridiculous, now when doing missions/ strongholds only getting between 0-2 ammo for my grenade launcher

Grand. What gear score are you? Should partner up for some bounties an the like.

Who if anyone are the PC players here? My mobo died so I got setback but hit lvl 30 tonight so need my hand holding in the DZ

How are you finding it compared to D1?
Enjoying it, hit gear score 500 so everything has slowed down somewhat.

Matchmaking seems utterly random, times can’t find anyone an other times it’s fine.
