To win: FA cup or EL?

Wait, have you just not been following football in the last week or you're just not aware of what "The Treble" is?
Christ. That's my bad. I'd completely forgotten Sunday even happened.

Take away 50 top red points from myself and 5 Red Cafe likes. I'll also wear an all cream suit for our next FA Cup game in honour of their 1996 cup final outfit as punishment.

EL if i had to pick. The FA Cup is interesting this season though as any of the EPL teams left would be thinking they have a good chance of winning it. City are probably favorites but they are not what they were over the last few years.

EL. Better for the long term health of the club and it would be oddly satisfying go from League Cup > FA Cup > Europa League in successive seasons.

(All while tumbling down the table)

EL, but who would realistically be our toughest opponent in the EL if we were to go all the way?

Sadly this is a financial choice

the FA cup offers a nice memory and nowt else

EL. We desperately need the money associated with Champions League football.

I'm a lot more up for the FA cup now that 4 of the big 6 are out. I know Villa/Newcastle are better than us but I'd still back us to win in a one off game in Wembley. Our players have the pedigree and the experience in cup finals/semi finals.

Just need to get past Fulham and hope we don't get a stinker of a draw for the quarter final. Burnley at home or something please.

Both. No need to choose. Rotate on the league. Only playing for pride and critics now. There is an above average odd that both can be won.

I dont see it in Lazio, losing steam since 6-0 to Inter (where steamrolled by Braga).

Real very hard at home, but not as strong as last year.

(Spurs can win mate)

Bilbao very cohesive and hard working, capable of a good result anywhere.

Frankfurt fast and technical, but a bit in really rough patch since december.

Porto crawling back with new coach, and 3/4/3 now (great 2nd half against Sporting).

Fenerbahce in a good streak, results and playing wise, Mourinho will always compete hard.

Man Utd, Porto, Bilbao and Frankfurt for the semis.

FA Cup - Would mean that Liverpool/City etc don't win it... and I'd also probaly rather we were in the ELthen CL next season - we're not ready for CL football.

The cash for CL football would be good though I suppose.

What ? What kind of mentality is that. Whether we get thrashed 5 -0 every game its CL any time of the day. This is can't be a serious thread. Its easy EL to get CL football

Do people not think winning the Europa League is also a really exciting thing?

Maybe I'm alone in it but winning a European competition just feels big to me even if it's the second rung.

I reckon I'd probably start to lose interest at the conference league but I'd be delighted with the Europa League.

A European cup is definitely more interesting than a domestic cup for me

CL > PL > Europa league > FA Cup > League cup

nah of course its exciting. It's not quite on the same level for me as beating City at Wembley will always be better than a team like Ajax where there's less history but it's great to win any trophy

the difference is one gets you in CL and the other EL - it could mean an extra player or two in this rebuild

Practically speaking. Europa. Can't underestimate what the CL revenue will do for our ability to strengthen in the summer.
It's guaratanteed additional income, the more you make the more you can spend - ok it's slightly more complicated than that but that's the basic premise of it
