Just glad the Scousers didn't get him
Not joining Liverpool then. I think Liverpool must be waiting for Mbappe or Sancho.
Who needs Werner when we've got Ighalo on loan?
Hahaha, so much for believing in Tammy Abraham and "youth"
By the same logic same goes for Greenwood if/when you sign Sancho. That sailed out the window fairly quick.
Pretty much guarentees Sancho as ours imo
Did he?? Well I’ll shut up thenA donkey?
He scored over 50 goals over 2 seasons on loan in the championship, as a teenager.

Greenwoods been mainly playing on the wing right? Especially in the league.Yeah Sancho is definitely a striker.
But we signed Ighalo on a loan to give Greenwood time to develop. Greenwood isnt even a wideman and he'll take over Ighalos duties when he leaves. Then he is after Martial's spot.By the same logic same goes for Greenwood if/when you sign Sancho.
Mount has played every game this season bar a league cup game Vs Grimsby. According to club connected journo's we've abandoned pursuing Hakim due to James's emergence and have been more open to listening to offered for Jorginho since Gilmour has come in.Giroud resigned and Chelsea only play with one center forward. Werner can play as a left or right forward, but Chelsea also has a lot of existing and incoming players for wide positions on the forward line. Werner isn't going to be transferred and paid to rotate, he's being paid to lock down a position that directly involves Abraham.
It's nice that Chelsea have finally started to incorporate their academy players within their first team set up if not starting XI, but Mount and Abraham, two of their early season purple patch kids, now have the youth narrative out the window. Pulisic isn't their youth player and with Ziyech and potentially Werner coming it. Is RLC going to be able to stay fit and compete with Kovacic, Barkley, CHO, Mount, etc.? Looks like Chelsea have one or two too many players who should seriously consider leaving to get more playing time and solidify their place in the young and competitive England senior team.

Obviously you guys are in the position of strength and VVD and Allison for Coutinho (effectively) was well worth it. A CL and PL to come. And your squad is in pretty decent shape.Yeah and we also paid a lot for Alisson & Van Dijk. Some of that was on agent fees as well. They were worth it obviously but it's having a negative impact on our budget now. We signed no one last summer and I wouldn't be surprised if did little in this window as well.
I do think our squad is in decent shape for the next couple of years though. We'll lose Lallana and probably Milner soon, possibly Lovren too. Our best players still have a good number of years in them though.
Chelsea have done really well to get his deal over the line. They managed to get Ziyech for chump change and also add Werner whose top quality. I'm glad he isn't going to Liverpool but Chelsea have definitely done well despite the transfer window not even being open. United board being shit and useless as usual. The Sancho saga will drag on till we find the vaccine for Covid-19.

In all seriousness, Klopp clearly wanted him and he wanted to join Liverpool so its a huge disappointment that he's going to Chelsea.
From a United perspective I wouldn't want him to join one of your challengers for fourth place though? This could push Chelsea in to title contenders next season.

I'd imagine most of us are confident enough in our own squad not to have to worry about what other clubs are doing, especially if we sign Sancho. In all seriousness, Klopp clearly wanted him and he wanted to join Liverpool so its a huge disappointment that he's going to Chelsea.

Yeah I don't disagree that standing still can leave you left behind, and you're right about next season I think. It wouldn't surprise me if Chelsea especially end up in better shape and pushing higher up the table. They normally have year or two off then push for the title again.Obviously you guys are in the position of strength and VVD and Allison for Coutinho (effectively) was well worth it. But objectively, I'd be a little concerned if something significant isn't done this transfer window. The level you've been at for 24 months is fantastic, but how long can it carry on? City had 2 seasons at a phenomenal level and dropped off. Mentally, how long can a team keep that up? It's definitely one of Klopp's strengths, as it was Fergies. But Sir Alex said himself, you have to keep strengthening, tweaking the squad and it's best to do that from a position of strength.
My bet is the league evens out a bit next season. Hardly groundbreaking that I'm saying a team doesn't run away with it next year, I know. But with a slightly more even league, and seemingly Chelsea and United (hopefully) significantly strengthening, next season could be great.
Or City ramp it up again.
Ziyech and Werner are top established players. Expecting some silky football and goals from them next season. So top three sealed next season then.
Who gets that fourth spot? Leicester? Spurs? Arsenal? Wolves? Utd? My money is on Leicester as long as Rodgers does not buy anyone (i.e. his committee do the buying alone).

He's a stark contrast to the actual decent Liverpool fans in this thread. What a rubbish baiting post.

Yep that’s my thinking. We sign Sancho it’ll be a simple case of us being in charge of our destiny to have a great season, doesn’t matter about those around us.
Based on how squads are currently looking I'd say Liverpool and City are the favorites for the title next season, with United & Chelsea as outsiders but I'd expect both to be in next seasons top four at least. I do think Leicester will be up there too. I'm not convinced Arsenal or Spurs will be anywhere near for now. Some people seem to forget we strengthen massively with Bruno in January at a fantastic price. He's also hit the ground running and looks every bit built for the PL.
It's great praising Chelsea but United's business has been brilliant lately in my opinion and has set us up nicely for the next season and beyond.
