Times: Wayne Rooney - Man Utd lack character, heart and emotion

Sounds overly simplistic but tbf, Rooney obviously still cares passionately, and like many has watched with incredulity as Ole, Woodward and the Glazers have systematically nearly destroyed the club.

To be fair all top flight footballers, especially ones with his profile, get jobs because of their name. He's already rejected a chance to interview at Everton once before.

Manchester United are different, he knows that if he's to have any chance of managing them he will have to earn the chance from his work at a top flight club at a very good level.
Well that is true, Carrick didn't exactly go up the ranks.

He will have to manage another PL team and do well with them I suspect. Also we are never getting rid of Ten Hag for him anyway, it would need to be a situation where we need a new manager and there are no top managers available. Might even need an Ole situation.

He has apparently been visiting Carrington in recent weeks, going as far as turning up in Utd gear.

Baffled why people are shocked that one of our best players ever, who is currently a manager at the moment has amibitions to make it to the top in his new game, the same way he did as a player.

If anything id be more surprised if this wasn't the case. Doesn't matter what he says, he can only prove himself first as a manager, and if he does the big jobs will come calling.

From all our past players that where here during the Fergie days, Rooney is becoming one of the few that acctually seems to have his head screwed on right. Who would had thought such a thing 5 years ago.

Only because he's not bound by SS/BBC/Amazon Prime scripts.

He always spoke highly of Van Gaal and I could see him learning a lot from Ten Hag if he chose to go back to work with him as part of the staff a bit.

In his interview with Talksport he said he didn't know Eric but has heard good things from Fletcher and McClaren.

Lacking character, heart and emotion. Sounds like the last 5 years of his United career.
