Ticket info thread - 2008/09: Touting will not be tolerated

2 x Milan Away:

I am interested in a swap, two Milan for two Carling Cup Final or two for Liverpool at home, paper tickets if possible. Obviously I would cover the difference if there was a price difference.

Anyone interested then drop me a PM.

Question:

If I were to go to Manchester and hope to get one off a tout for one of the massive games against the Dippers or Inter, would I be likely to get one off a tout and if so how much would clashes like this be likely to be milked for?

Why not just come up for another game?!

Never been to see United against Liverpool, let alone seen a season where Liverpool have been contenders :P

And getting tix for games in the Champions League won't become a likelier affair as the season progresses, no?

Also, I'll not be in England after this season, this is just a handy opportunity in all sorts of ways, tout or no.

Fair enough... best bet is to hang around a pub asking for spares, leave it as late as your willing to risk it.

;)

I know where to find them, I just have no idea about availability and price for a game like this.

It is difficult to guess at how much touts will be charging. I would guess at around £120+ for Inter depending on demand and around £150-£200 for Liverpool.

I agree with manxmanc tho, hang around the pubs near the ground and see if anyone has a spare. If you have to go to a tout then leave it till kick off or 5mins after, you will then cut the cost of a ticket from a tout.

Do this for the Inter game and then if you don't get in, go back to the pub and watch it there. You will then be wiser when it comes to to Liverpool game and will know exactly what to do!!

Good luck.

Inter is about to go on sale on viagogo.

Set up a membership for £20 then you will be able to get a ticket in whichever stand you want.

You will end up paying £60+ for a ticket but it's better than using a tout, just about!

Sold out in 1 min!

I was waiting for it as well. Had it open on 5 different windows and still didn't get 1. Gutted.

How hard is it to get tickets on viagogo, i tried and it just went.

varies massively from match to match - for Everton last Saturday there were still tickets available - more Inter ones may well get posted now that it is open for trading - you just have to keep checking

By the way. If you apply for any PL home tickets as a One United member, how are those tickets distributed ? Totally randomly or through some sort of "loyalty pot" system ?

My advice for the big games, when naturally demand is very high, is to wait until the last 2-3 days before trying to get a ticket on Viagogo.

There is always a late rush of tickets available to buy and by that stage a lot of the maniacs who sit there for hours pressing F5 will already have got what they want.

For example I got a ticket for the Barcelona game last season, the day before the game, with only an hour or so remaining to buy the tickets.

I was quite pleased with myself I must admit. ;)

ps. Obviously if you have to make travel arrangements this strategy probably isn't for you.

I did that with the west ham match a couple of years ago when we lifted the trophy.

Only problem being I had to sit in the North stand infront of the corporate boxes - great view for the celebrations though.

Aye but you've just got to take what you can get for the biggies.

Having said that I got Stretty Tier 2 for the Barcelona game. :D

It always amazes me that people are willing to sit for hours on Viagogo and pay outrageously over the odds for matches (such as Inter) where there are dozens of face-value spares going on other forums.

I'm only a member on this forum.

And I doubt anyone would sell it to a random who just joined the forum.

*Shrugs* Suit yourself. Bottom line is that there are a lot of people who want to shift tickets, they don't care who gets them.

I have an account on RI but haven't posted with it. Might start posting on there.

well if anyone has any tickets are face value or viagogo price for inter milan, i would take them no problem.

out of interest which other forums are most popular for shifting tickets?

I'm not advertising other forums on here, would be unfair. But think forums that are more popular with matchgoing fans and you'll be on the right lines.

sorry my bad, my mistake.

Will give you good news i just got one from Viagogo.

Now the bad news, my mate am suppose to go with might not be able to make it and as its an evening game i wont be able to catch a train back.

This is just not fair.

How far away you live?

You usually can get a train early enough to get you home...

Am from Coventry. Do you know anyone from Coventry who will be going to the game LOL. There might be trains but dont want to have to leave early or anything.

There's a train that leaves Manchester Piccadilly at 22.07 on March 11 that gets into Coventry at 00.13.

As long as there isn't extra-time you should be able to see the whole game and get to the train in time. Make sure that you run like a madman to either tram stop after the game mind.
