Ticket info thread - 2008/09: Touting will not be tolerated

I'm on my way to the UK for xmas, and I'm wondering what the chances of getting a ticket to the Stoke game (away) are like. As far as I can tell the away tickets are always snapped up, right?? First away game I am attempting, so any info would be helpful regarding that. Thanks

Not much chance to be honest - unless you are willing to pay through the nose outside the ground - you would have a better chance of going to Utd v Boro at home if you are still around

I think there is more chance of Bin Laden being found before christmas and the Lib Dems getting in at the next general election.

^

I've got a ticket for Blackburn Face £26 Stretford End Lower open to offers & a ticket for Aalborg face £35 Stretford End Tier 2 will take £25 - dont have specifc entrance no/seat no until Monday though, paper tickets I can drop off (if you live in Manchester).

I haven't received my two tickets for Aalborg yet. They were ordered the 19th. Should I be worried? (Same goes for Sunderland, ordered some time later.)

Worst case scenario is that if they dont turn up at all then you need to ring the ticket office, explain the situation and pick them up there on the day of the match - so no need to worry

Thanks for the info, but will be in the UK from the 15th till the 27th so I will only be there for the Stoke game. I may attempt to get in with the home fans, but I suppose that's really asking to spend New Years Eve in intensive care.

If anyone has got a spare ticket for the Stoke game, please let me know!!!

Alright. Luckily I got them today, so I'm fine. Thanks anyway.

anyone else having a problem applying online for the Chelsea (H) game...everytime I log on and click 'Apply' it keeps saying:

'Unfortunately you are not eligible to apply for tickets on this event at this time'

... I have One United membership, have been to games this season. It's really pissing me off now!.

Is anyone here in the position to get me 1 or even better 2 tickets for southampton v utd fa cup , might be a swap for a decent home ticket in it for you.

Just had a Priceline.co.uk bid accepted for the 4* Crowne Plaza at Manchester Airport on Saturday night (that's £48 + £13.50 fees), so if anyone is looking for hotels that's what to aim for. Rack Rate is curently showing £129 on the hotel website

Most hotels around M/cr are fully booked

There are a few sites on the net selling United tickets. I know it's paying over the odds for them but I'm wondering whether they are trust worthy. Anyone know anything about these???
This one claims away tickets for the stoke game, which is the only game I'll be able to attend while I'm over in England. Do I trust them??

Do not pay 135 quid for Stoke away.

Probably not trustworthy anyway.

Bastards.

cnuts.

I've never been to an away game, and it's the only United game I'm able to attend while in the UK. I know its steep, and due to my holiday budget, very restrictive, but I am tempted.

If there's anything less dodgy, I'd be glad to know. Would buying a ticket outside the ground in the home fans be something to consider??

Need a pair of tickets for the Aalborg game. I've tried the general sale but somehow it's sold out!

I need it for a friend who's coming to Manchester next wednesday and it would be his first time to Old Trafford. Would be highly appreciated if anyone can help me with it. Cheers. :)

The club have/had them on general sale, ring the ticket office and you can buy them

4 spares for Aalborg. 2 together in Stretty Tier 2 (£35 each) and 2 together in North Tier 1 (£20 each as they're technically concessions).

Ta.

Ralphie.

I have a friend who has got a hold of 2 season tickets for the Middlesbrough match at Old Trafford. She got them from a season ticket holder, obviously.

Quick question though,... She is worried. She won't be asked to prove that she is the actual season ticket holder or anything? I presume people give away their tickets all their time when they don't go to a match.

Can someone explain to me how Viatouttout works?

I know what it is and that, but if i were to put a ticket on there, do I then send my ticket direct to the person who's bought it?, or would I send it to the ticket office, who will then send it on?

And how does it work for season ticket holders, given they have a swipe card? Obviously, you can't send the card off, as you may never see it again.

Just wondring because I'm thinking of getting a few season tickets next year and selling 1 on, on a game by game basis to my United supporting mates, but if we can't go to the odd game I'm going to have to pass them over, if not on here than Viagogo

good question, i'm thinking of doing the same next year as i can sell my season ticket for each game but my supporters club still charge me the £35 coach fare for lack of a bum on a seat for the trip.
Anybody ?

Viagogo send out paper tickets.

Really?

Not heard this theory before...

Saw an incident with a guy with young kid in tow, who had (it appears) bought said tickets on VGG. On arrival they found those seats occupied by people who also claimed valid tickets. The tickets carried by the purchasers were obviously for the seats in dispute because the stewards went back to those seated there to check on their situation.

The pair 'in possesson' seemed to have STs. Following this I heard a couple of conversations indicating that it seemed likely the ST holders (or friends) were occupying seats that had also been sold on VGG. The indications were that this was not necessarily unknown.

I did see the 'purchasers' in the area at half-time so they had been found seating somewhere.
