Thomas Tuchel | Gone to & from Bayern (In Summer)

I'm not arguing he's a good guy or anything (I mean, look at him here)

But if the question is what is the source of the wealth being used to finance Newcastle, the answer is simple: oil.

What is the source of the wealth used to finance Chelsea by Roman? Proceeds from wealth derived from assets violently/illegally acquired by Roman for cheap through personal connections in the chaos that was post-Soviet Russia created in part by shock therapy advised by the West who were more concerned about Russia being capitalist than Russia being democratic

What is the source of the wealth used to finance City and PSG? Oil.

See the difference?
How did the Saudi's acquire their power and then the rights to the oil? I doubt it was Jed Clampet style.

In fact, how did any royal family acquire their position?

I agree there is a difference. The oil money from Saudi Arabia is however used to fund sportswashing. Roman's Chelsea adventure also has that sportswashing side to a lesser extend. We publically mostly see him as a nice guy, which is probably not how he got his wealth. However he is way more separated from the state than the Saudi investment case, though quite influenced in what he can use his wealth on. If he used it on anti-putin business it'd be confiscated/his life would probably be in danger, as with earlier killed monigarchs who spoke against Putin.

Allegedly Roman also has just sold significant shares in the russian Steel industry, which also is used quite a lot for building russian military. So his actions is not just dated to back then.

The source of the wealth used to finance Chelsea was also oil. This is just not a good or fair comparison at all.

I honestly can't tell if the post was meant to be ironic. If so, I'm sorry.

if not, what da heck.

Why do so many people think he'll leave now? Keep seeing it, but unsure why. I don't see Chelsea turning into that much of a mess that he'll jump ship anytime soon.

.
Wait in your anger are you confessing to being Roman Abramhovic attacking Tuchel for not criticizing your purchasing of the club?

Also why would you be gunning for the 7 figure guys and not all? What's your threshold? If someone is on 999,999 its fine but 1,000,000 is not fine? Its ok to take dirty money below a certain threshold? What's the threshold?

You got me. Unlike the UK government who are going to let him sell all his assets and walk away. Disgraceful.

On your second point, no, I don't have a problem with working-class people taking any job they can in retail or in Amazon warehouses. I don't they have the luxury of being in a position to take a stance. That's not the case with players and the manager at Chelsea. I have no problem with the people selling burgers at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, if there's a bad take to be had, you know once racist cnut who will snatch it:

Anyway, I'm sure this isn't the thread for this.

He is right to be pis*ed at all the politics questions he is getting right now… wtf, he is just a football coach, and one on the distant side of non-football controversy, as a public persona. I mean, Howe at Newcastle just got one question on the day he was presented… after that, they all moved on.

He has won trophies and important games -

But I've got to say I've found him a bit of a bland manager - he doesn't wow me all that much.

Howe is a media darling. They will never say anything bad about him or to him. Honestly the Saudi stories would have continued had they put a foreign manager in charge.

Just heard what he said about the fans chanting Romans name during the match.

My estimation for him has gone up.

When Tuchel leaves, I hope United would make a concerted effort to bring him here. He looks to have one foot out the door already.

He literally stated the total opposite days ago.

Will he now leave at the end of the season? I would love to have Tuchel at United !

If he quit Chelsea now or in the next couple of months I’m sure he’ll immediately become one of the 3 favourites to get it

Be interesting to see if he’s hung out to dry by the Chelsea executives

If I were him, I wouldnt do interviews. Unfair to throw him to the wolves without a senior person being there

Need to hear from Bruce Buck or someone on the director level. Can't just be having Tuchel answering all the question as the ONLY media facing employee at the club. They need to protect him now.

He won't leave the club. Thats a given.

Unless they go into administration or something anyway, which won't happen.

He's personally very happy at the club, but we just don't know what lurking around the corner, so I would say nothing is off the table at the moment.

Should be no.1 choice if he becomes available. Just not convinced he'd want the United job. He'll probably have the run at loads of other clubs and the job required here isn't that attractive right now.
Guess PSG will be looking for a new manager soon.

I dont think anything dreaded can be lurking now surely? As in, it can be dreadful once new owner's come and it is realized they may be shite but by then Tuchel will already be into the season

We should be ruthless here and start making noises towards him.

When Abramhovic took over, Chelsea were ruthless in how they went after our targets (Essien, Mikel, Robben, Hazard etc) so we should repay the favour.

Tell him he can bring Rudiger, Kante and Havertz with him as well.

Said it before, this man could very well be available come the end of the season and I think United would be all over him over poch/ETH.

A given? I very much don’t think so!

If this situation doesn’t get resolved he’ll be gone
Sanction means theyl just be sold quicker. If they get shite owners then the effect on Tuchel wont filter before the new season. He will experience his frustrations but stickt to the job until its untenable which I think takes him to next season.

He hated Leonardo to no end. And it was mutual. But he stuck around for ages till he was sacked. Similar case with Dortmund, it was toxic for a while before he called it quits.

So you think RA will be happy to walk away from this with absolutely nothing?! Skeptic about that to say the least.

I don't know. A month ago my biggest worry was whether we could get sucked into a top 4 battle. Now the entire future of the club is up in the air.

You're right that he likely won't walk before the end of the season and by then we'll know whether the club has been sold or the sanctions have been extended further.

He can sell the club if he can absolutely prove that he won't receive ANY proceeds from the sale

I think if this goes on into May you will start having trouble with players and staff.
