Great return from Ziggler. Such a shame they'll just yet again not act on it properly.

Rollins is still fantastic and whoever it was in here who said he's shit at promos has gone completely nuts. Shit booking and he still does great to mark a lot of it work. Fantastic heel, such a shame a lot have turned on him.

Worst case scenario is both Cena and Undertaker going over at Summerslam. Best case scenario is Rollins and Lesnar going over. I'm not confident what so ever of the best case scenario happening even if everything on Raw points to it.

Predictions?

I'm going with Lesnar, Cena, New Day, Sheamus, Team PCB (what a fecking shit name btw, what's wrong with Submission Sorority?), Ryback, Rusev, Wyatt's and Neville to win.

what's wrong with Submission Sorority?

Google has that name linked to porn content or something like that. Doesn't fit the PG rating anymore.

The Tag Team divison is so bad.

Why? It's been fantastic. PTP and ND are good and Lucha/Los Matadores are outside peeking in. For a division that only had Uso's and a ad hoc partnership of Kidd/Cesaro to carry to load, this is now filled with talents. Creative has been doing a great job of ensuring everyone gets equally wasted. With no character development to PTP, it is a well talented unit that is let down by booking...sounds familiar, huh?

On a totally unrelated note, is this the best heel promo ever?

It was good.

My question is: Why did that Montreal crowd under-react to Bret's music hitting? They were already loudly booing HBK, and while they did pop at Bret's music, it wasn't quite on the scale you'd expect with it potentially being their hero's WWE "homecoming" after like 8 years? I expected them to go mental.

Unless there were already internet rumors at that time.

Yeah but there is no direction. For summerslam they just threw all 4 tag teams together with 0 build up.
I agree. And they do it a lot too. Every PPV seems to just be 4 or 5 tag teams in a really confusing match. Poor booking from WWE and shows a need for competition. I laughed when WCW went down, but they were brilliant for WWE.

TBF, theyve been having matches and four teams makes sense since Matadores have a pinfall victory over PTP, New Day have a pinfall victory over PTP as well and Lucha have a win over the other two.

Anyway, Tough Enough final next week. Looks like for both men and women it will be the best in terms of overall package vs the two fan favourites (despite them being not good enough).

The Los Matadores have been portrayed as jobbers for the past 3-4 months always constantly losing to promote other tag team divisions and now we are expexted to look at them as contenders. No doubt, their talent level is great but the buildup makes no sense. Also, how come we never see anyone cut promos in the TT division? Their is no direction or incentive behind the TT division at all and that needs to be sorted because their is too much talent there for it not to work.

Ryback needs defeat both the Miz and the Big Show quicky and rapidly and actually give him a decent wrestler to feud with. The intercontinental Championship has seriously lacked relevancy for a long time. The last time I got hyped up about it was when Shelton Benjamin had it. Kevin Owens would be a perfect feud for him imo.

TE has been okay. When Josh wins, I think he would fit a monster persona. Both Amanda and Sara Lee suck ass though. GiGi was the one who easily should have won it.

I must have missed them because I don't really get the drive between these two tag teams.

Yeah these two have been at each other ever since New Day won the title. PTP came back on the scene and went straight for them. They have had a few promos and fallouts during recent PPV events.

I'll be honest, I've only started watching this because of Amell, but I'll admit it makes for some fun television, and kinda worth my time watching every week. Just seems a bit hard to keep track of all the different groups/people having different feuds with each other. I guess that watching it consistently makes it more understandable?

sometimes yes, sometimes no. Need to not look for logic a lot of the times.

Yup and I am so pissed. There is so much talent there but as always it is being wasted! Whichever Creative guys are handling them needs to be fired. It is so irritating that there is no development between any of these guys.

Sasha Banks is just so fecking great! A very talented, sexy heel. I would watch a Charlotte vs Banks feud every day of the week if they were to make it happen. Finally great to see talent in the divas division rather than watching the same disapointing Bella Twins.(Although I will say that Brie Bella has been improving)

Agreed @gormless Loved that team. Although Bram was better until he got busted / fired, but even still, that entrance music was so much better (fresher) than the LOD ripoff that gets buried by commentators.

yes, yes, and yes ...my favourite promo ever...''whose daddy , Montreal?''...the thing is that the crowd genuinely hated him for the screwjob and anti- canada antics years before...so he just played into that...that pop for the bret hart? And then sudden realization that they had been duped...priceless heel work

this summerslam has been marketed like a wrestlemania....so spoiler, cena wind and matches flairs record

I'd be very shocked if Cena didn't win. Makes the whole Rollins reign look like an utter joke though which is disappointing.

Nothing needs to happen to make it look like an utter joke, it has been an utter joke. He's terrible in the cowardly heel role IMO and not credible at all. He should have had the similar role to when he was NXT champion which he can pull off well and it would have been a better reign.

Yeah these two have been at each other ever since New Day won the title. PTP came back on the scene and went straight for them. They have had a few promos and fallouts during recent PPV events.
It doesn't feel like it means anything, though. The New Day have amazing chemistry together but the rest of the tag teams don't. This is what's missing - the notion of a "team". Most of these tag teams may as well be two singles wrestlers teaming up on-and-off. The talent is there, but the "teams" aren't.

When you look at tag teams, you think of the likes of the Dudley Boyz and DX - very memorable teams, with great chemistry, charisma and teamwork. Only The New Day are going in that direction. The others are largely-forgettable as a team, albeit good fun to watch.

It's partly down to creative not being able to make these feuds mean anything. Right now the only feud is around the tag team title but that's one storyline for 4-5 teams. The singles division has multiple feuds going on - the tag team division could use a similar direction. Pairing together a few lower-card singles wrestlers could help bulk up storylines. But I think part of it comes down to the wrestlers themselves - The New Day aside, there's very little charisma in the tag team division. The New Day's success is down to their own initiative and chemistry.

I think that the WWE have noticed this and that's why they are really trying to promote actual tag teams now. I definitely agree that there have been far too many forced teams in recent times but I think all 4 teams in the Fatal 4 Way at SummerSlam are different because they are actual tag teams and work together as proper tag teams. Ironically New Day are a forced team, and it seems the WWE got lucky because they work so well together.

'Best' in the sense of the crowd reaction and the spectacle of watching it - yes I would agree, or at least it's up there.

'Best' in terms of performance, and the heel working up the crowd by knowing what gets under their skin - maybe not. At this point in time Michaels got that heat in Canada simply by being Michaels. The things he was saying were also fairly simplistic.
