Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Brings me to another question.

Do they keep the stuff like championships and money in the bank at home or is it at the WWE locker room? Can they keep it once they lose? I guess not.

Also does the belt really have Gold? Highly doubt that as well.
I think the TV belt has gold, but they have house show belts too. They carry the shit with them everywhere, if they win the belt its their responsibility. They might get a replica after they lose it to mark the achievement.

Makes sense. Wonder what happens if some thief decides to steal it!

They always get to keep the belt, or a copy of it, the Rock has all his championships in a display case.

Yeah has to be replicas. Else it would cost too much. Maybe some originals are also kept such as John Cenas spinning belt.

I'd imagine the very specific ones, would be kept by the wrestler, like Stone Cold's Smoking Skull belt, or the Rocks Brahma Bull one, as it'd be daft for other wrestlers to carry them about.

Notice the current main belt has replaceable parts in it's side panels, so they can customise the belts without changing the whole belt. Rock had little bull heads, Cena probably has something stupid, IIRC Sheamus tweeted a pic of shamrock panels for it.

Was watching some Youtube clips the other day from the WWF around 2000ish, struck me just how severaly lacking there are of any real characters in the WWE today. More family friendly these days, but back then pretty much every single one of them had a personality and were intriguing to watch, whether it were in ring segments, backstage or in a match, the likes of Kane, Undertaker, Mankind, Rock, Stone Cold, Chris Jericho, HHH, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, DX etc, and the McMahon's were all involved. It's an absoloute snooze fest currently, the three hour time slot was one of the worst decision in a very long line of bad decisions they've made over the past 10 years.

I think the advances in technology have ruined it too. The crowds back then went to the arena and had no idea what was going to happen next. Nowadays the wrestling community seems more concerned with who's getting pushed/burried and know exactly where the 'storylines' are going thanks to the Internet. I started re-recording RAW a couple years back when The Rock returned, and I still do it, except I fast forwards about 170 minutes of the show and watch 15 minutes tops. Smackdown went down the pan to, does anything even happen on that anymore?

I would put the Red Devils logo on the sides if I won!

Actually, some might disagree with me, but I think the roster is coming back to it's previous strength after some dry years. Rollins and Ambrose are amazing personalities. Two that would even do well in that line up that you listed. Roman Reigns has the look but I'm yet to be completely sold on him but he's still a lot of fun to watch. The Wyat family is pretty interesting even though I wish WWE could incorporate them in better Fueds (this one with Jericho can be a good one I feel). Bray Wyat gives a very late 90's feel. He is untouchable on the mic.

I feel like there might be a feud between Reigns and Cena. Both of them are being booked like superman right now and a Feud between these two would be awesome to watch because of the unpredictability and varying styles.

And finally, the injured superstars such as Danial Bryan (best in the ring since Benoit possibly) and Bad news Barret are great to watch (did anyone see Barret Versus Ziggler? amazing)

But as always my only hope is that WWE either stops the clear "bad guy" versus "good guy" or at least give the "bad guys" some legitimacy. They've done the latter with Rollins, Bad News Barret, the authority and Randy Orton to some extent. i.e, they can win matches clean and some of them even have some support. They started that with Cesaro as well but not sure what's happening right now.

Basically, Dean Ambrose is the next big thing.

Didn't know he got in trouble for it?
Yeah, apparently they have to get permissions for all the registered trademarks, brands and shit, and didn't have them as it wasn't a UK Raw, where they plan on wearing football shirts.

From what I've read, it seems like he was just wearing it backstage, and his music hit too early. So he ran out without changing.

Ah right, suppose he wouldn't have taken it off on the way because they banned him from showing his tattoos (hence the "power ranger" outfit).

That Sting commercial was awesome. WWE's production is so amazing. Makes you wonder what a 33 year old Sting would have done in his prime.

Rollins injured. Hopefully it's nothing serious, but he was holding his knee and I'm not overly optimistic about the situation. His injury is probably why the ending looked improvised and mediocre.

Hope he's not out to long. Ambrose and Rollins is the best thing WWE has going at the moment and promises to be the best match at Battleground and Summerslam as I am sure they would be having at least two PPV matches. If Rollins and Bryan are out that leaves WWE short of two of their best in ring performers.

I thought Raw was really boring tonight unlike last week but I like the card for Battleground so can live with it. Much better than an average B PPV card. With the exception of Big E vs Cesaro, I like the look of all the matches and the Battle Royal should be fun.

Read an article about it once. Basically they are constantly creating new belts. The newest, and therefore highest quality belt is the TV belt which the champion is given in Gorilla position (just behind the curtain) before going out to the ring. The lower quality belt is the champs belt and responsibly to carry around to appearances.
I imagine it's same for money in the bank briefcase as it would be a disaster if they holder lost it or something or airport lost luggage day of a cash in.
Generally there is another belt kept in storage by the company which can be used whenever one of the other two needs to be refurbished

Rollins is fine.

Lana was the MVP of this episode, my god she had that crowd in the palm of her hand.

Dolph somehow managed to look like a dweeb when he was leaving with both Summer Lay. That's some skill that.

Also, Paige appears to have learnt how to talk all of a sudden, she was great on commentary.

It probably helped not having someone repeatedly say "Um actually"

Well, turns out that Rollins is fine. He sold that well. The ending to the match was mediocre though and had me think that he was injured.

Was pretty shocked myself. I was about to tell myself "there she is again" but she was actually normal and a bit entertaining on the mic/commentary for a change.

Also, I usually couldn't give a damn about the divas (even when the great trish was there) but I love watching AJ. She must be good if I'm interested in a Divas match. Can keep the division alive.

Otherwise, I liked the raw. People say it sucked but I thought it was decent. Just what I'd expect from a RAW.

Some negatives

- The Lana segment was good but the whole 'USA' thing is a bit corny I think. Besides Russia U.S is so old. What makes up for it is Russev is actually really athletic and great to watch

- Wyat needs to change it up. He's amazing on the microphone but... this episode wasn't that special for him.

I may or may not be downloading the Goldberg DVD. Don't judge me, he was my first ever favourite wrestler <_<.

Also, I wasn't that impressed with Lana. I mean, she did fine, but surely that gimmick must be the easiest thing in the world to do?

So you've got the legs to pull that gimmick off have you?

Especially when your real voice is very... Yokelly.

Everyone... all of you, posting in this thread, should listen to this Podcast - reviewing a 2000 episode of WCW Nitro.

http://fightnetwork.com/news/48966:review-a-wai-wcw-monday-nitro-july-31st-2000/

That is how things used to be....

Aye, I watched that Nitro last night. Longest 90 minutes of my life, even longer than Rome. So awful.

In fairness, WCW was only like that for six months under Russo. WCW was always the wrestling show in the 90's despite having some bad times when under some bad corporate management.

Oh it's not a comment on WCW on a whole... just mainly about how bad/crazy/mind-boggling 2 hours of wrestling television can actually be.

Oh, I'll admit that's impressive (she actually seems quite a good actor, having seen bits of her work elsewhere). Just that the whole "anti-American" thing seems to be the easiest way to get heat in the world. Most crowds you can just go out there and basically say "America's a bit shit really, go my country!" and get a reaction.

So you've got the legs to pull that gimmick off have you?

m8, Stacy Kiebler saw my legs once and retired from wrestling out of sheer jealousy.

Can you hypothetically PM me a link?

Maybe.

(yes).

Thank you kindly, good sir. Now I can report it to the proper authorities. :)

Summerslam vid has been leaked. No surprise but makes sense.

What intrigues me is the result of the main event and how it goes forward?

Brock will hold the title until WM I think. Reigns will win the Rumble. Not sure where that leaves Rollins and the briefcase though.
