Turn Batista heel, have him say "I came back in the Rumble, and they gave me Bryan's spot because they didn't want him headlining Wrestlemania. I won it, and now I'm going to face Orton at Wrestlemania, and whichever one of us wins, we're keeping the title amongst the Evolution family."

Then Bryan gets into EC somehow (for the title) and wins it, leading to Batista vs. Bryan at Wrestlemania, which Bryan wins.

This means that

1) Batista is heel. Heel Batista is best Batista
2) Bryan is in the Wrestlemania main event, where he belongs
3) Orton is not.

Now watch as WWE do precisely none of those things.

Can't have heel Batista when he's going to be promoting a Marvel film. Bad for business :(

or turn Orton face either, lets face it, no matter if WWE try to amend their mistakes at EC, Bryan will be held down by Batista in the ring, hes too old and cant move

I'm getting the feeling that Mick is displeased.

Batista is shit. The end to that PPV was fecking awful.

Reings is also shit, he can't wrestle or cut a promo, if they do go ahead and push him out of the gate it's going to be great watching everyone realize how shit he is.

The only ways WWE can redeem themselves are:
1)Bryan ends the streak
2)Bryan wins WWE title at 'mania
but there are rumours of Sheamus v Bryan which means he will continue to get buried whilst HHH's buddies keep getting pushed. My guess is that they are hoping to eventually kill his momentum like they did with Punk in 2011. Batista is no Rocky or Austin. He is not a big enough star that they can build Wrestlemania around him. The only people who should have won the rumble are one of Bryan Punk or Reigns. There are also rumours of Batista mocking the Yes chants and flipping the crowd when he was walking out.

Reigns is far from bad, The only way to save this situation now is to bring back money in the bank at mania, have Bryan win it and cash it in at the end of mania.

"I don't think Rey could have gotten more boos if he had admitted to killing Eddie Guerrero and making it look like a suicide. #RoyalRumble"

The WWE have to know what they are doing here. I refuse to believe that they don't. Vince would put the strap on the royal baby if someone told him it would draw. For all the talk of HHH doing amazing things for WWE behind the scenes then they must know what they're doing with Bryan. Nothing that is happening to him is hurting him it's only getting him more over. From here he can either end the streak since Taker has requested to work with him, or he can be inserted into Mania in a triple threat etc.

The only thing is I can't see him ending the streak if the Sting rumours are true and Sting is Takers last match next year etc.

I also feel bad for the superstars last night boo'd for an hour for something that wasn't their fault while they tried to do their job. Everyone pre RR predicts Batista will win RR, Batista wins RR and everyone explodes in angry fashion.

I knew the crowd would be chanting Bryan at the end. WWE need to stop trying to hand pick manufacture and then force that person down our throats. They should listen to the crowd, but if they did that they'd have Bryan, Ziggler et al as top stars, and due to their build Vince would never allow it.

3/10

From what I've read it seems like the crowd REALLY let their opinions known at the end  I hope Vince has an actual strategy here with Bryan, he can't be as blind/stubborn as it appears he is being... oh wait, yes it is Vince McMahon - there's every chance he's just ridiculously out of touch :o

Seems Daniel and Brie have both tweeted stuff on the situation, which they must have been cleared to do by Vince so there must be a programme in place from here. Right?

Well that was bullshit.

Apart from "You can't time it because THEY stole your watch"... which was the clear highlight.

Imagine if you will ... just imagine, how bat-shit mental that place would have gone when a) Bryan ran out at 30 and b) he won the thing... it would have been incredible.

Instead, they pinned him clean (which I'm fine with - as I thought he would look strong later) and thats that.

Also - I got 2 in the pool...

Can anyone beat

Winner: Batista :(

Name one surprise entrant (can't be on the active roster i.e Sheamus, and not Jake the Snake):Nash lol. (Couldnt read and put Sheamus initially doh)

who got 5?

Is he though? What's good about him exactly? He's not a good solo wrestler and he doesn't cut good promos. He's a good looking man, but who gives a shit about that?
I used to like you Silva

I like his promos, or at least what I've seen of them. They're not fancy, but there's a "I don't need to say much, I'll just kill you later" feel to them.

Although I'll need to see him speaking at length, and in a back and forth conversation before I judge him further.

That's not really his promo gimmick though, he just happens to be in a faction with Ambrose which he can use to hide his lack of talent there. And all his little lines are delivered in a horrible monotonous voice.

He's missing about 3-4 years of experience to be at the level he's on the verge of being pushed towards.

I'm holding out for Mania. If it happens at Mania I'll congratulate the WWE. The IWC want Bryan to win the strap at every single PPV of the year and they all threaten to stop watching WWE every time it doesn't happen. If they do it at the one that counts, then I'll be happy.

I half agree with Silva, in that he's missing experience in order to be the guy. Calls for him to win the Rumble last night were frankly laughable. The winner main events Mania and as much as Reigns is ready to hang with the big boys, he isn't ready to main event Mania end of. There's no way on Earth he should have won the Rumble over Batista who as much as people may not like him, has the star power to main event Mania. Reigns had one hell of a showing last night breaking Kane's record and looking like a beast. He'll be more than happy with last night.

I disagree on his promos or ability though. IMO he's better than Ambrose. He brings power and intensity and his spear is awesome. I'm not sold on Ambrose's ability which seems to basically be speak like a weird unhinged mental person.

Are the WWE that this is Wrestlemania they're booking?? Batista vs. Orton? no one cares... Cena vs. Wyatt? Well I mean it's fine for a normal PPV... but Wrestlemania? Really? Cena should be in a big big match, and Wyatt doesn't scream big... Sheamus vs. Bryan? Again? No one wants to see Bryan in a 10 minute mid-card match...

Which leaves the only two matches with some interest, which is Punk vs. HHH and Lesnar vs. Taker... with the latter being way way bigger and better than the former.

I can't see it happening... to them, Batista vs. Orton clearly makes sense. I just can't see Byan vs. Batista being a "big match" ... the only way I can see it is if they go triple threat, which could work I guess.

Actually, at this point, I think they may have to.

But Bryan may be facing Taker at WM and if he does that and ends the streak (I'm sure I read somewhere that Taker said there was one specific up and coming guy a few years ago that he wanted to end the streak and he's reportedly asked Vince specifically to face Bryan this year) then I'm sure he'd rather that over the WWE title. He can win the title at any time but being the one to end the streak would be massive.

I can't see Lesnar vs Taker. Taker can't take that kind of a beat down, look at what he did to Show last night with the chair. You can't have Lesnar booked like that one minute, and then pandering about next minute because of Takers limitations. Plus Lesnar has inserted himself in as the number 1 contender so I can't see him being tied up with Taker at WM when he could be in the title picture with Batista. Just because Orton is the champion now, doesn't mean he will be by Mania.

Bryan could face the streak leaving a Brock/Batista main event.
Sting could face the streak if rumours about his contract being up in 7 days are true, he's 54 now and has said he wants to face Taker and have at least 1 WM before he retires.
Bryan could be put into a triple threat as the ultimate underdog vs a heel Batista and a heel Lesnar at Mania if the above is true (Lesnar beating Orton at EC for example), or for example if Cena goes after the streak. Imagine the pay off if they put the babyface Bryan against 2 giant 'Vince' heels and he wins on the grandest stage?

It could go anywhere yet. At the end of the day, Vince built a billion $ business. He knows how it works. If all he did was shove down our throats what we didn't want, then he wouldn't make the money he does. I'm convinced there is some kind of plan in place.

Mysterio being entrant number 30 was fecking retarded and ridiculous. It was the most ridiculous thing last night apart from Batista winning the thing. Well, that and the crowd booing for long periods because Bryan was not in the Rumble match. Cry me a fecking river.

Not happening. It's been pretty much confirmed that Sheamus will turn heel and face Bryan at Wrestlemania and Takes will face Lesnar.

According to dirtsheets it is, which is pretty much the opposite of confirmed. What is confirmed is that Vince changes things on the fly and the road to WM is a hectic time with plans changing constantly on the fly.

Really not sure how Wyatt and Cena will work. I'm a Wyatt fan, and have no issues with what Cena can do in the ring, but this feels like a mis-match in styles.

well, Batista won the thing and that's what all the reports were saying all along. I read a similar report of 5 matches pretty much already set in stone for the show:

Orton vs Batista
Lesnar vs Taker
Cena vs Wyatt
Bryan vs Sheamus
Punk vs HHH

and judging by last night, they're happening.

It didn't take a genius to work out that Batista was going to win the Rumble though. I really hope they don't go with Lesnar vs Taker. He can't handle it. Or they have to book Lesnar the opposite of how he was booked last night. Have him booked as a monster in the title picture only for him to inexplicably leave the title picture to go after Taker and not look like a monster anymore.

I agree, Batista winning it was not surprising even without the reports.
The fans want to see Bryan winning the title soon but I guess they'll have to wait some more time for that to happen. Maybe he'll face the winner of the title match after Wrestlemania after defeating Sheamus and gaining even more momentum (if that's actually possible).

The thing that bugs me is Taker eventually defeating Lesnar at Mania. I mean, how the feck are they going to make it even slightly believable?

On a side note, it was great seeing my compatriot Aleksandar Rusev enter the Rumble with a great theme as well (even though they made him look like a caveman).

Lads, should we come up with a spoilers policy for the thread?

Dirtsheet speculation in spoilers? Smackdown results in spoilers? Your own guesswork not in spoilers...?

Yeah, I'm sorry. Will spoiler the dirthsheet's prediction for the matches at Wrestlemania.

If Orton/Batista goes on last at Mania... aren't they a bit worried that the live crowd will shit all over it?

Seeing the Mick Foley and Daniel Bryan tweets since the rumble leads me to believe this is more of a work, and the storyline will continue, but then who knows? I don't even think creative know where this is going. A Batista - Orton match is of no interest to most people. If they thought the crowd were bad last night wait until 70000 people shit all over that.

Elimination Chamber is in 4 weeks, so how do you predict the main event will look? Surely they have to have the wwe title on the line in the chamber.
