Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

That was the worst part. I bet the best match was Daniel Bryan Vs. Sheamus and that wasnt recorded

That doesnt mean it wasnt better than those shitty matches

Touche.

That said I don't think the Taker match was terrible. It was forced into one highlight after another but it was still probably better than the other matches. The tag matches were pointless and the championship matches were fairly predictable.

The Taker - Triple H match was just a spotfest with a terrible ending and even worse post-ending section

While I agree with you, I do think a lot of people were at least entertained by it even if we weren't. A lot of mixed reviews on Twitter right now for the whole event so even though we seem to be in consensus about it being a fairly awful show, looks like there's some people out there that at least thought it was decent and a select few that thought it was great.

I suppose it doesn't hurt that everyone who wanted to see The Rock take out Cena got their wish at the end.

Edit: I think the best way I can describe the show is that it was like a four hour version of Raw or Smackdown, but not the kind of show I'd like to put on for even a PPV event and certainly not for the biggest show of the year.

Edit II: Everyone who had to stay up late for that has an extra right to be more disappointed about that than everyone else.

uh so, what did The Rock actually do?

Talked the talk to open the show.

Did a small backstage piece, which was a bit cringeworthy.

The main event got counted out as a draw, cam storming in saying that he was never going to let the main event play out like that, and that it "Doesn't matter" what the GM thinks, and layeth the smack down on the guy with the Miz.

Match carried on with no DQ's, noless than five seconds later Cena gets rockbottomed by the Rock, and then pinned by the Miz.

Underwhelming and disappointing main event.

Aw man, that sucks.

That's all the script writers could come up with!!

There was a huge amount of potential, but I was underwhelmed by the Main Event.

The Undertaker vs HHH was the best of the night for me. The 8 man tag match was laughable really.

I think they've set up a longer return for the Rock though (i've not seen anything to confirm this), but the Rock getting involved as he did sets up a feud with Cena, potentially for a battle for #1 Contender, but we'll see.

I'd be very surprised if the Rock didn't feature at least for the foreseeable future.

The next Raw could be interesting, but I said I was only dipping back in to WWE to see the Rock's return leading up to Wrestlemania, so i won't be watching how it pans out of course.

I watched most of it as I was having my usual Sunday night bout of insomnia, but feck me, it never used to be nearly this unimaginative.

I know I've grown up (arguably) since I used to watch WWF, but it used to be funny and at least in parts unpredictable. Every match was just so bland. No build ups, no drama, no unexpected twists. What's the point in having a four hour long show of pretend fighting if you're not going to script in anything interesting? It was just bizarre.

Michael Cole stood out a mile as being the most interesting and amusing thing about the whole fiasco, which says enough in itself.

I stopped watching after the Taker/HHH match as it was so out of character with what would have happened 10-15 years ago (and not in a good way) it just made me angry. Ifthat was done properly, they'd have destroyed half the arena, HHH's face would have been covered in blood, Shawn Michaels would have come out and kicked one of them in the face, and no way either would leave on the world's most pathetic looking stretcher. Even JR seemed too embarassed to call it properly.

No way PG ratings can explain away this level of terribleness. Vince has clearly sacked all the writers and replaced them with some kind of generic computer program. Literally, at one point a computer decided the outcome of a match. Why has this been allowed to happen?

Nail on head.

Vince can get away with consistently putting out lacklustre stuff these days, since he doesn't have any real competition like back in the day when he was competing against WCW.

I remember watching a friend's recorded tape of Wrestlemania years ago when I was into it. It was...in Texas? And Stone Cold teamed up with Vince and beat The Rock? Also there was a man in a chicken suit at some point?

Wrestling eh?

Or George McBest.

Can't believe you lot are ignoring the most famous United player ever, Sir Bobby McCharlton.

Or former player and manager, Wilf McMcGuinness.

Shut up, I was tired. :(

So much so, in fact, that the only doubt I had in my mind was not whether there should be a "Mc" in front of Crerand, but whether it was "McCrerand" or "MacCrerand."

I blame The Undertaker for this entirely.

One thing I must add to this thread is that WWE signed Mistico at the end of Jan. If you dont know who he is, he's the biggest name in Mexican wrestling today and very entertaining

hopefully we see more of la mistica in the wwe than we've seen of Daniel Bryan's cattle mutilation - apparently thats not good enough for wwe programming

Just made his debut and did a shockmaster, how embarrassing

Well it seems Rock will be around for another year till WM28. Bet it won't happen

Rock won't be on till then. He'll disappear for a while and probably return a few weeks before Wrestlemania 28.

The Rock to face Cena at Wrestlemania XXVIII apparently

The Rock has lost his edge IMO. He looks as if he's trying too hard these days and always seems to be out of breath. I suppose he's feeling his way back in, but, for example, when he's speaking he sort of comes out of character, smiles for a bit then jumps back in, a bit like corpsing. He had a lot more tenacity in the past (as can be seen from the guest referee clip). Also at the beginning of Wrestlemania: the People's Water???? Reaching much??

I don't want to go so far as to say that he's becoming a mockery of himself but from what I've recently seen of him, it's spoiling the memory of what he once was. He hasn't been involved in proper action either, just small scuffles now and again.

Overall I'm disappointed at this year's Wrestlemania, I thought a lot more could have happened and The Rock didn't really 'host' it as I was expecting him to.

It'll be interesting to see how they build this match for a year, especially considering that Rock is going to go off to film movies in the meantime.

The last hour was a car crash

Triple H/Undertaker should have been the last match to finish the show off in style.

Really doesnt matter that he caught the ropes as long as he got over. The thing is that they showed the mini trampoline as he was running down, I think they were trying to hide it by the ring so it looked like he dived all 9 feet or whatever unaided.

Nevermind though, he went straight in and dominated the U.S champ. This is what I mean about the promos and buildup signifying that he'll come straight in high up the pecking order.

Daniel Bryan has been jobbing to Seamus every couple of weeks for the past year, and Mistico is able to come right in and clean him out.

Bloody hell, this video is very disturbing.

I hope Scott Hall gets all the help in the world, he looks seriously messed up in this video :(

Wow, thats terrible! He's always been a bit of a mess though with drug and alcohol addiction.

Is it bad that I laughed at the ridiculously slow motion spin punch thing?

Announcing a wrestlemania match a year in advance eh? Will be interesting how they keep up the tension for a year.

And feck me scott hall is a mess. Supposedly hall and shawn micheals are/were close friends? Does anyone reckon they still talk with micheals being a born again christian and hall clearly an addict?

I've read that "the click" (Triple H, Michaels, Hall, Nash) were reunited at Michaels induction to the hall of fame the day before Wrestlemania. I've no idea if all the members were there, but if so then thats your answer

Hall did not go due to his addiction issues.

It was those you mentioned and Sean Waltmann who were there on his induction. Footage on youtube. Can't see Micheals having any issues with Hall over his problems mind you as Waltman has had his issues with drugs and he was warmly received at the induction.

Hall was already out of it when he had his TNA run last year. The funny part was that Hall was so out of shape, X-Pac was the only one of the tag team still able to do anything in the ring... And TNA overcompensated. Because Hall was useless X-Pac was taking on two recent world title contenders and knocking them on their asses. So they had him looking like a star. Then it turns out Pac is the one TNA have to let go of for always turning up late and, ya know, being Pac. So they made him look good then got rid of him and were left with the dead weight.

The Click......first I've seen it referred to like that -_-

TNA was amazing with everyone randomly coming back early last year, it was so bad it was actually compelling viewing. Trainwreck wrestlers are awesome to watch....it's one crazy ass business.
