Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Great match, joint match of the night for me.

Rock looked amazing, took bumps really well and didn't look out of place. Tomorrow will be fun.

Random Q and perhaps no one will know.

When you buy tickets to WrestleMania to they come as a pair (night 1 and 2)? Can't imagine how gutted I would be if I only had tickets to night 1.

I imagine there's an option to buy either individual or both.

Interesting match placement.

Think they got most of the "meh" matches out the way tonight bar the pride/Kross match, and was certainly hoping for more from jey/Jimmy.

Overall a good night 1, I expect better tomorrow night.

Very rough start to that main event. May have made better viewing with a more enthusiastic crowd responding to the staredowns and all that, but it was very poor.
Fair play to them, they recovered well and the last 10/15 were great.

Separately, as someone who only tunes in to a handful of main events and doesn't watch weekly TV shows, I have to imagine the love for Sami Zayn must be down to some strong story building. It certainly can't be his in ring performance, I think he's brutal.

Slow start but it really picked up and the last 10/15 was great. Really surprised by a) how much The Rock did and b) how great he looked doing it.

Overall really good night 1. The first two and the last two matches delivered and the stuff in between was mostly entertaining, if forgettable.

Yeah agree with this. Main event was great and a good preview for tomorrow
Rock v Cody has to happen down the line. Imagining rock with solo (who's never been assigned by roman himself) kicks out Roman. Rock can remain heel to face Cody. Roman costs Rock which leads to rock v Roman next year.

Rock looked Fantastic.

Night 2 looks better. Iyo/Bayley, seth/drew, Cody/roman especially.
Hoping for an Endgame feel to that main event with shit loads of interference, and chaos

Really enjoyed that. I know it’s Mania but WWE are masters of making everything a spectacle it felt huge. The Rocks entrance was just ridiculously awesome.

Just imagine if The Rock and Roman are beating down Cody tomorrow night and Austin’s music drops with the glass shattering….fecking goosebumps make it happen!

This is the kind of insane stuff I want to see. Shit load of interference from whoever bloodline has wronged whether it's cena, or throw in Austin to nullify the rock, heck have a twist with Seth being pissed off about losing two mania matches and have him turn on Cody, and just make it a complete overbooked madness

Seth is quite popular so I won't turn him. Eitherway we have had enough of seth turning face to heel. But apart from that, yes, today will be a chaotic night.

Production wise it seemed the show was littered with mistakes. Hopefully a lot smoother tonight.

Even if Perry is just eating a sandwich minding his own business and Punk comes up from behind and donkey punches him, no one is going to care.

If Khan/AEW felt like there was anything in the footage it would have been shown straight away and/or it would have been passed onto the Police.

Man it was way better than anything under Dunn... the f bomb muting aside, which how the hell are you supposed to align that perfectly anyway, didn't notice much myself?

Off the top of my head there was the new catch republic titantron being wrong, multiple instances of crew being in shot when they definitely werent supposed to be, the audio slip up you mentioned, the audio in general (that lil Wayne bit was rough). Also the rocks entrance standing in the middle of the bull flames, the top part wouldn't stay lit.

Nothing really massive but a few things that you wouldn't normally associate with wwe, the production is normally flawless. Probably why it sticks out to me more.

It was ok. Expected more too but also expected a superkick spam so that happened
I’ve said about that for years now

Dunno why WWE keep letting it happen. Ruins the idea of the super kick and it is the only move they ever do

Think AEW and the Indies are more at fault for the spamming of the super kick.

Will not necessarily argue, because I agree, but it's nothing new. Before the superkick was the DDT, before that, a simple bodyslam etc.

Was funny seeing the pedigree spot in the main event, wonder if that’ll be the next finisher that becomes just a move

I found that strange. Would have gone harder if Cody did his own finisher rather than Seth’s. It also looked funny because Cody could hardly lift Rock’s arms

I'm really only a casual fan at this point and read up on events here and on Reddit etc but I just don't see "it" in Cody Rhodes.

He's pretty good in the ring but I don't really think he has the charisma to be "the guy", and I get the impression that he's trying too hard and I find him a bit boring tbh.

A bit "Vanilla" with "Sprinkles" and l felt the other guys in the ring outshone him last night.

Obviously I'm missing out on something as a significant portion of the fanbase want him to win the championship to "finish his story" but not all stories have a happy ending and I don't really get why his deserves one.

I enjoyed the main event tag match last night but it doesn't make sense at all from a storytelling point of view. In that match you saw The Rock tell the referee that he's allowed to do whatever the hell he wants and he will fire him if he doesn't let him. Therefore regardless of the 'bloodline' stipulation, tonight's main event would be in effect a no disqualification match for Reigns anyway. In fact, the bloodline rules seems to be of a bigger benefit to Cody who is now allowed to get outside help and do whatever he wants as well. I still enjoyed it all, but them selling the importance of last night's main event went over my head and I just appreciated it as a spectacle rather than a match that also had huge ramifications.

Would love to know the thought process in releasing the apparent video footage of Punk/Perry/Khan on Wednesday night.

If it's the actual video, okay but why now?

If it's the bucks taking the piss, okay but why?

What does AEW gain in either scenario? I sincerely hope it's more than just a bump in viewership because that's rough if that's the point.

I’m getting this feeling that Roman might retain tonight.
Absolutely no chance, Cody ain’t losing two nights in a row.

I do have a little sneaky suspicion that they might do Rock v Cody as soon as the next PPV though! What a first defence that would be.

Enjoyed night one. Didn’t expect Gunther to drop the belt before the show began but kinda changed my mind that Sami might actually do it as seemed like that moment with his wife, kid, personal trainer Chad & best mate KO before he made his entrance kinda gave an incline that this was gonna be his night. The main event didn’t fail to disappoint either. End result made the most sense and The Rock is still so good in-ring.

Looking forward to night 2. Did alright on my Mania night 1 predictions and bagged some nice dosh from the Bookies. Mania night 2 predictions:
  • Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits vs. Final Testament - Could got either way but backing Lashley & the street profits to win.
  • LA Knight vs. AJ Styles - Hope LA Knight wins. The guy deserves a good push.
  • Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens - I’m hoping Randy wins but expecting that WWE are going to keep Logan as champion until Summerslam which is going to be held in his home state.
  • Iyo Sky vs. Bayley - Bayley seems to be the red hot bookies favourite for this but I’m thinking Iyo wins but then drops the belt to Jade Cargill at the next ppv.
  • Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre - I really want Drew to win as he’s been such a good, likeable heel. But reckon Punk is going to get involved in some way and cost Drew. Rollins will win & Priest will cash in a “heist of the century” on the man that last done it at Mania.
  • Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes - Hoping and kinda expecting to see Cody finish his story but I’m more interested in how it plays out and the execution of it. There are just so many potential possibilities for how this one goes. Does Rock turn on Roman? Is there some sort of “Avengers End Game” style interference to come to the aid of Cody when he’s getting absolutely pummelled by the Bloodline potentially headed by Stone Cold & John Cena? That’s the more intriguing part for me rather than the actual match which Cody has to win otherwise you are just copying & pasting last years main event end result.

Credited with forming AEW (along with 26 other guys). Uses his father's name whenever people start to realise he's a bit meh. When that doesn't work, he brings his shit first stint with the WWE as motivation.

He's basically a motivational speaker that can perform in the ring a bit.

Does anyone else feel that the crowd was a bit shit? I read that it's always the case with a crowd that big but I'm watching a wrestlemania after 15 years so not sure about that.
