Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

The whole Cody angle is based on this assumption they were building his defeat at Mania last year to him winning it this year, even though if that ever was the plan it made no sense and they've done an awful job of building it. It's always seemed like they were waiting on The Rock as its the only way Roman losing the title wouldnt seem like it was dumb not to do 2 years sooner. Cody's story doesn't have to specifically be this year or with Reigns.

Do think it's weird they bring back Punk, who supposedly had a gripe with being shafted from WM main eventing by The Rock, just to sideshow him to The Rock main eventing WM

I thought this as well but now that they have WM over two days and two titles, it will likely be that he will main event on the first day.

True. There's no way any match involving the rock isn't overshadowing any other supposed main event though.

Maybe Punk was briefed on it before he signed up so was aware.

They've obviously at the very least been hoping the rock would fight Roman as its the only reason keeping the title on him last year made any sense.

To this date no one touches Rock on the mic. The way he plays with crowd is top notch.

Hearing rumors about rock roman being in chamber. Would be meh for me. Rock roman has to be in Mania. Cody's story can wait.

Triple threat or Romans on Double Duty.

Or it is at the elimination chamber. Feel like gone are the days where your biggest main events had to be in their respective countries/continents. Money talks.

Just booked off mania weekend and it dawned on me how much I enjoy it being a 2 day event. Make a whole weekend of it starting on Friday all the way through to Monday, it's great.

Anyone know why New Japan didn't fancy it for wrestle kingdom this year?

Tbf not sure it's even what Khan is getting at as he just spouts gibberish, but the whole angle of Mahal using the fact he speaks Punjabi and isn't white to get heat from the crowd and portray himself as anti USA, was completely pathetic. Maybe wouldn't have been out of place in about 1996 but WWE shouldn't be stooping to that level of crap.

Especially not when it was a set up for The Rock so wasn't even needed to get a reaction anyway.

Yeah it was daft. The crowd didn't even really boo it either as, you know, it's not the 1990's anymore

I think they realised how backwards it was though as they completely dropped that aspect/approach this week

Tony having another Twitter meltdown

He makes it so easy to hate AEW

It shouldn't need them to realise it tbh. Also they built that day 1 Raw up like it was going to be epic, so I actually watched it properly for once, and it was completely tedious and boring. The Rock was the only remotely interesting part.

I do wish AEW hadn't lost its way somewhat or that Khan wasn't such a weirdo, because I'd happily take AEW at its best over anything WWE are serving up currently. Also when AEW were putting on good shows and doing well it seemed to kick WWE up the backside a bit.

Hoping the rumble will kick some of the Mania build into gear. Although unless there's a Swerve coning they've done the same as last year making it 100% obvious who will win the rumble

I’m not watching any wrestling but Jinder hasnt been around for a year right? Hes a returning, former champion who talked his way into a title match from the clip I’ve just seen.
Why is Tony gate keeping another company’s title picture?

He has been in NXT a few times I believe but haven’t seen him on WWE programming for a while. He does have history with Seth back to their days at NXT.

Managed to convince myself that jinder beating Seth is best for business.

You could have jinder beat Seth for the title, rematch at the rumble in which CM Punk costs Seth the match.

Night one mania opening match Drew Vs Jinder, there's actually a story to be told there does not need to main event.

Main event, Seth vs Punk.

I know this isn't gonna happen but I'm aboard the jinder train, choo choo, and it's all because of Tony.

Khan should concentrate on AEW being an alternative/something different to WWE instead of getting hung up as if he's trying to take WWE on. He's never going to win that battle. He wouldn't have won it even when AEW had Punk and were putting on really good shows and PPVs consistently.

Also AEW has about 100 different titles. Everyone has one. Like its boxing. At one point the double tag team champions weren't the tag team champions. So maybe sort that out before criticising another brand over what they do with their title challengers.

He's a weirdo.

No more drinking on week nights.

A twattish little billionaire nepo-baby.

Shame Punk didn't actually lamp him one.

I laughed way too hard at this.

As for World's End, it was fine, definitely nothing to shout about compared to the usual AEW PPVs, nice to see Joe win the title though.

As for WWE, it's really on fire at the moment. Rock vs Roman build for mania, Punk building feuds with all sorts, the rumble looked sewn up but is now genuinely unpredictable, it really is great stuff.

Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler) in TNA will be useful for them, the guy can perform his ass off. Will be good for the younger talent there and hopefully some more strategic acquisitions can help them further.

You are forgetting the legend that is R Truth. One of the best things in WWE at the moment.

My Brits, did anyone know NXT is now live on the network? Was watching a classic rumble then saw it and was confused af!

Haha, but I think I only watch main PLE live now. So rumble and mania will be next. Rest is all on delay

Also rtruth is a GOAT. Putting him with JD has been a good move because JD were doing the same thing over and over. Reckon truth could help make Priest the breakaway face.

Cody/punk face off next week should be interesting.
Also drew being correct but a villain is great.

Okada leaving New Japan.

Be very interesting to see where he ends up.

WWE is defo an option now with Vince out. I'd like to see him in a wwe environment, and how he would fare.
Hope he goes to WWE, just for mania. This year's would be the most stacked mania of all time.

Yeah WWE is definitely an option now - under Vince I don't think there would have been much of a chance.

Can see him having a Cody style Mania debut vs. someone like Zayn, Owens or Drew.

Was thinking exactly the same but with Nakamura or AJ.

His best friends in the States are the Young Bucks so i think he'll end up in AEW which would be a mistake imo but i can see that happening more than WWE
Even if that were true I don't think it plays any part in where he decides to go next.

Mania time (or raw after) is a good time to debut him with the make up of the crowds they generally have and those being smarter.
He should face off v Gunter though not sure how many other people would like that

WWE on the whole has done a good job with a lot of the characters and making fans care about them. The faces are the strongest theyve had in ages. Business is hottest for WWE for a long time and doing a lot of these international tours has been a great move.
