Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

One year on since the original Pipebomb, where does it rank in terms of the best promos for everyone then? Still up there with the very best for me, if not the best. A magnificent work.

In terms of that "worked-shoot" style of promo, that's certainly up there as one of my favourites, along with the one Joey Styles cut on RAW and Paul Heyman cut on Vince during the Invasion stuff. (which I both watched this week in honour of Mr. Punk)

Smackdown MITB entrants:

Damien Sandow, Christian, Santino Marella, Notalordanymore Tensai, Tyson Kidd.

Only five there, so perhaps one more entrant? Delighted to see Tyson Kidd in there though, he's a superb wrestler.

Well, by my maths Randy's ban is as good as over, as with Rey, so maybe one in each of the MitB matches?

Maybe one of Ziggler or ADR into the Smackdown match with those two into the Raw one?

It's interesting, and very telling of just how shallow the roster is, they can't really afford to throw Sin Cara into another MitB match, he's just too much of a liability still. They really need to start promoting the talent, it's very telling that Ricardo Rodriguez, one of the better talents, is a fecking "personal ring announcer".

I believe Orton's reign is set to end on the 23rd July? That's what I've read elsewhere, anyway.

Maybe Barrett in the Smackdown MITB, Mysterio and one of Ziggler/Alberto into the RAW MITB? I imagine whoever out of those two doesn't make it will be facing Sheamus for the title at the PPV.

Barrett is recording a film at the moment I think?

I may have been wrong on Randy, Rey is definitely due back at any point, Ziggler has never had the Raw belt, which means he can't be in that match, no?

Maybe someone like Drew will be thrown into the Smackdown match, or Cody would be a thought. Either way with those already named it says it all for lack of talent. Maybe Swagger also?

I thought the RAW one was open to any former World Champion regardless of brand. Although everyone in it so far has held both world titles, so that doesn't help at all.

Vickie came out and announced the stipulation during RAW that only those who have held the WWE championship could enter the RAW mitb match. So even though all 4 so far have won both titles anyone who has only won the WWE one could still end up in the mix. Knowing the WWE it wouldn't surprise me if they add someone beforehand or on the night of the event as a surprise entrant.

My problem with Alberto is that his gimmick wasn't ever one that could remain interesting unless it evolved. He debuted as a guy that winked at people, had a ring announcer, and spoke about his destiny. He's still a guy that winks at people, has a ring announcer, and speaks about his destiny. You could probably swap audio of his old promos in place of his new promos, with the opponent's name changed, and I wouldn't notice.

It's a shame, because I enjoy watching him in the ring, but I have absolutely no reason to care about what he's doing.

A good suggestion I remember reading (not sure if it was here or elsewhere) is that Del Rio should buy the MitB briefcase. Because as it stands, all he's doing with his money is buying expensive cars, well so fecking what?

What I don't get is this, there's supposed to be a contract in that suitcase, a contract isn't valid until signed, why not have another competitor, maybe someone not even in the match, twat whoever is celebrating and then sign the contract themselves?

I know that realism has to be suspended for wrestling, but doing that adds a whole heap of potential storylines, no?

That's the kind of thing Russo et al would love, but wwe decided to piss all of the best writers off.

John Cena was so much better back then.

The super Cena character is stale as feck.

That would be great and would kind of remind me of the HHH vs Stone Cold being suspended of they physically collided angle when HHH was shown to be the mastermind behind running over stone cold. The whole "I never signed it" thing

Can't wait for his debut. The E better not feck this up.

He's got a couple of great long matches with Punk and Seth Rollins (amongst others) too which are fairly easy to find on youtube, so he can definitely go in the ring. And I won't even mention his indie matches because I don't think the E will ever be that extreme. Dude bleeds more than Trips when he starts blading.

If what I think just happened, happened, it was brilliant.

Was Punk just booed for not watching AJ's match? That girl is over so much it's untrue. She's magnificent, decent in the ring, non-too shabby to look at and one hell of an actor.

I really want her to team with Dolph after this is done, would be just the push he needs.

I really hate when they have two big men in a singles match. Kane and Big Show are way too slow to make anything look even slightly realistic, makes for a terrible performance

Did anyone else appreciate the fact that the first match on a show where Teddy Long returned to GM duties was.... a tag-team match (playa)?! Complete with the bunching together of people who don't have all that much to do with each other...

It seems like since Jericho's come back from the flag suspension he's brought some of the old-school Jericho stuff back: the cocky pin, the catchephrases, "COME ON BAAYBAY!" etc. I love it.
