I’ve said since his main roster debut (not doubting his history in Japan) that Nakamura isn’t working, he doesn’t suit WWE at all, I don’t get him.

He’s lost so many matches that there’s zero mystique surrounding him, obviously because of the launguage barrier he’s wank on the mic and his all round style just doesn’t wash, he comes across as slow and boring i don’t see his supposed ‘strong style’.

Even after his heel turn (which is gonna crash and burn btw) those weird little baby kicks he was doing to Styles was just strange, kicked him 400 times with the power of a 10 year old girl.

I expect him to be gone from the company by end of next year.

Also - Did Brock do to Reigns what he did to Orton? Or was that fake blood? It looked pretty real to me and surely he shouldn't be doing that to one wrestler, let alone two?
I was wondering this at first but I’m pretty sure it was real. I’ve seen blood packs used many times over the years and you can usually tell. The colour and blood flow was very accurate.

I think Brock was getting frustrated with the boring match and ‘awful’ chants and snapped.

Apart from his obvious lack of mic skills his move-set is really, really boring. It’s pretty much just him kicking the shit out of things while flashing his strangely red teeth. I could have sworn he had way more range when I used to watch his matches in Japan.

Don’t really watch WWE but watched last night as I had a day off today anyway. I do try to follow here and there though (largely on here!) Used to be a massive fan up to like 2004.

My take mirrors most. The women’s Smackdown match should have been second to last. Had way more importance than AJ vs Nakamura, Braun and the Raw women’s match. It would have made a strong finish having this.

I also think they missed a trick not making the two Japanese wrestlers winning the title, but fair does.

Nakamura - to me who doesn’t really know much about him. I’ve seen him twice now, and I just think he looks disabled. The weird shit he does with his fingers, his facial expression, just looks very weird and not elite at all.

The match you all wanted with AJ Styles should have been with Seth Rollins I think. Seth Rollins clearly is a fantastic wrestler and they needed that match to be a long lasting quality match. A match that could rival Austin vs HBK back in my day.

Also the main event should have been Brock vs Braun. Powerhouse vs powerhouse. Reigns is a very good wrestler but he’s failed vs Brock far too many times, so should have just been on the IC card or something.

Also think although Daniel Bryan was great, they wasted him with this story. Should have given him a great singles match. Maybe because he was called for so soon before wrestlemania. I don’t know. Maybe given him a match vs Cena and done Undertaker vs Brock if they fancied another part time champion.

You know it was my fault that I expected that much from the match card. I expected a TakeOver kind of thing and I got a Vince McMahon's shitty version instead. It was my fault all along. Feck you Vince.

TakeOver was FANTASTIC though. So glad that I watched it live. Hunter is just amazing at booking matches.

Started off great but those last two hours tapered off badly.

Thought the main event was pretty meh until the blood, at which point it became shit. They did they not fecking learn from summerslam? At least this one looked like it didn't give Reigns a concussion. I was thinking throughout at least Lesnar won't have the title and he and his dull matches will become less relevant to the show so that would be some consolation, and then he goes and wins. Such a bad ending, but still not as stupid as ending Asuka's streak.

As a whole show I thought Mania was very good best since 30 maybe. But I will agree with a lot of people in here the final hour or so was strange and dragged. Even though the AJ/Nakamura match was technically very good the tired crowd hurt it, Nia/Alexa match was worst match of the night all I could think of was Sasha/Bayley dumped for this. I know most wont like i but I liked the Braun moment and the main even was just weird. The ending was actually shocking but the match just didn’t work.

They have to do something about the 6/7th hour. Either split Mania over 2 nights or do something. Every year since 30 when it hits that last 2 hours the crowd are too tired to do anything and it hurts the show.

I agree with the long running time grievances; it was just too much.

Maybe they should try turning it into a Wrestlemania Weekend? Stage it like a music festival with multiple rings and a big headliner each night.

Definitely on board with that. Makes far too much sense for Vince to do though

Without being a hardcore follower, my thoughts on the event:

IC Match - Really good. One of the best matches. All three competitors really did bring it.
Charlotte vs. Asuka - Excellent match, should have been higher on the card. Surprised Carmella didn't cash in... what's she waiting for?
U.S. Fatal 4 Way - Why the feck did Jinder win? No one wants this guy as champ. Rusev looked great and had a great pop. Should have been the winner.
Mixed Tag Match - Was much better than I thought, though it should been shorter. Steph countering an arm bar was a joke.
SD Tag Match - Wanted the Uso's to win but at least they didn't eat the pin and looking forward to them fighting the Bludgeon Brothers.
Cena vs. Undertaker - What was the point? Squash match.
Bryan & Shane vs. Zayn and KO - Was decent but felt like a missed opportunity. Needed Shane to backstab Bryan.
Jax vs. Bliss - Wasn't invested at all.
AJ vs. Nakamura - This was the reason I watched the event and it was quite the let down. Maybe my expectations were too high but it is not working for Nakamura. If you can't have an A grade fight with Styles then something is wrong. Even Jinder had a good match with Styles. JINDER... let that sink in.
Braun vs. The Bar - Way to make your tag team division a joke...
Brock vs. RR - 5 F5's? Roman clearly on some Belfort level drugs!

Ive only watched some 55 minute highlight show and there is a move Charlotte does off the top rope with Asuka but she basically back flips from having a shin balancing on the rope she athletically is just incredible.

Saw bits of the Rousey match and although not perfect looks like she can go. Some of her transitions are way beyond most in that division from what I saw and I don’t know if anyone has noticed this as well and it might have something to do with their backgrounds but Ronda and Sonya Deville Just seem to move with more intensity and purpose than the others.

A match featuring Stephanie was more entertaining and will get more internet kudos, rightly, than the purists dream match of AJ/Nakamura. Crazy.

Anyone notice Broc’s teeth....wtf.
They were gross. Toothbrush and paste, Brock. Not that expensive.

Things that I liked:
Matt winning the Andre Battle Royal
The triple threat
Charlotte vs. Asuka
Kurt & Ronda vs. The H's (especially Triple H selling like a damn hero for Ronda)
AJ vs. Shinsuke

Things that I did not like;
Jinder Mahal
Undertaker vs. Cena (as a standalone match, I'm willing to rejudge it as part of an overall story if it carries on)
Braun Strowman & Nicholas
Brock Lesnar vs. Reigns

First PPV I've watched in years after just getting back in to it in the last few weeks. Thought it was all great except for Cena/Taker and Lesnar/Reigns.

Those Undertaker 'connections' were hilarious. Cena was already on the ground before Undertaker lifted up the big boot. His entrance was great though, well it started off great. Dragged a bit. I was hoping it would be motorcycle and American Badass based, but I guess the Deadman thing was apt, as he's old as all hell. He looked in fine shape, but really slow.

Thought the in-ring mic's were way too loud. You could hear the wrestlers calling their next move to their opponent pretty clearly (especially in the mixed tag team match), though that might have been more down to the crowd which seemed a bit flat except for Daniel Bryan/Shane McMahon.

Daddy can have all the contacts you want, if the boss doesn't see your appeal (I'm fully with Vinnie and big Dunno on this) and on a huge contract for your level in a time when they're trying to cut costs, you're at risk.

Sasha and Charlotte have had a title rematch, with Sasha winning. Charlotte said goodbye after the match.

I suspect she isn't going to the main roster.

:boring:

She's on a big contract, she's terrible and they're cutting costs. Not a difficult equation to think she's in serious risk of being cut.

FFS @phelans shorts do you remember when you said this? Three years later, multiple title reigns, just broken Asuka's streak and is being built up by the company to go down as the greatest female in WWE history...:lol::lol:

And yes, I almost put a brick through my TV when she beat Asuka last night.

Apart from the main event.
I enjoyed all, although Nakamura vs AJ, could have been much better. Can't believe these two are the same who gave THAT Wrestle Kingdom match. Must be mostly because of lack of heel/face tandom. And is Nakamura injured or it is WWE, his kicks are no longer as stiff as they used to be.
His heel turn was a surprise, and I hope they pair him with someone who can speak.

Disappointed by Asuka losing, but that match was great. Charlotte is just ridiculous, I remember few years back people used to ridicule her, and today she is by far the most spectacular female wrestler in the rooster.

But overall a nice show, although Niomi winning was wank, feck her. Wanted Becky to win, but seems like she is not rated much by WWE, despite being the most over wrestler in smackdown.

Nia winning was a good result, and all happy for all the bullies kids around the world. But can my Goddess, have her title back?

IC title match was a good opener.
And Seth is a monster, feck Roman and feck Brock, he should be the universal champ, if Bruan is not given the title.

I dunno about others, but I loved Taker coming back and fexking Cena. And props to Cena, people used to call him Hulk Hogan and all that shit, but he is a gem of a person, and has come long way since burying Nexus.

Smack down tag title kinda disappointed, I was expecting a sensational match, but it felt bit underwhelming, given the talent at disposal.

Bryan winning was a feel good moment, and the pop he got was damn.
Match was nothing special but the hype Bryan generates, this match does not need to be great. Cannot wait for AJ vs Bryan, Bryan vs Seth, Bryan vs Balor, Bryan vs Joe, Byran vs Owens and so on.

Braun and kid was an other anti climax but I liked it. I cannot dislike anything involving Braun.

Oh and feck off Jinder, deck off US title.
Rusev getting buried despite being the most over non-main event player is injustice of the highest order.

And now coming to that meh main event. I get it they wanted a Austin like ovation for Reigns , but 5F5, or it was six. Thier Wm31 match was million times better(even without Seth cash in).

And for the most enjoyable match of the night. Ronda fecking get IN.
I dunno whether it is good or bad, but I loved Stephanie crying and getting her ass handed to her.
Ronda's doubter can now shut their cynical mouth.

Please please please tell me it wasn't just me who thought Nicholas was a girl until Braun asked him his name?

I thought he was a girl even after Braun asked for his name. I thought Braun messed up when he said "young man"

A whole segment about Braun wrongly assuming someone's gender.

The first few hours of it were really fun and then it all went downhill pretty fast to the inevitable shitfest that was Brock-Roman.

Rousey/Angle vs Steph/HHH was legitimately one of the most fun matches I've watched in a long time, thought it was perfectly judged.

Asuka vs Charlotte should've gone on longer and she shouldn't have tapped after the first figure eight but it was a great match otherwise.

I didn't like the whole fat shaming/bullying angle for Alexa vs Nia but aside from probably just being a squash match it was actually fairly well done and the Samoan Drop off the turnbuckle looked properly powerful when you consider the size difference and how small Alexa is in general.

AJ v Nakamura was subdued but hopefully it means we get to see them fight again, especially with the heel turn. They're both obviously brilliant wrestlers and can put on a great match if they're allowed to, just can't at WM with time constraints and it going on forever.

Owens and Zayn are absolutely perfect heels. Shame it was Shane putting himself over again but the coast to coast he did was brilliant. The pop and atmosphere when Bryan came out was mesmerising too.

Braun is brilliant and I had a laugh watching his match but it's a case of what the hell will they do now? Hopefully that kid is alright and he wasn't a make-a-wish kid so he can just enjoy his WrestleMania moment for his hopefully long life. Someone as big and devastating as Braun shouldn't work as a comedy character too but he's so good he can do it all.

Smackdown tag match was shite.

Battle Royals are always shite too. Especially didn't like Naomi winning but that's partly because she's a shit character and partly cause Becky is bloody wonderful <3

I think a big thing that is being overlooked and missed in the whole mess of the main event...

We should never forget that Brock Lesnar took his gloves off to hit Roman Reigns with his elbow. Truly baffling.

Phelan with the big scoops. I think I remember disagreeing with him strongly on that too so I feel smug. But I'm not gonna search my posts just in case.

Charlotte has it. I wanted Asuka to win but Charlotte is great so I'm not too upset about it.

She was/is the least liked, internet-wise, out of the four horsewomen but she's blitzed past Sasha, Bayley and Becky in terms of talent and star appeal over the last few years.

Nakamura/aj was a major letdown irrespective of the aftermath which was very well done. The match was approx 21 mins and it was shocking that the match never kicked on to the next gear instead they worked a very slow pace for almost 20 mins and when they actually raised pace the match was over. Disappointed with aj as he is one of the best in working the crowd. I can bet they will have a significantly better match at backlash and other ppvs

This and Rumble are the only wrestling I watch during an year. The 2 best matches for me was Ronda one and first women’s title match. Even AJs match was fine. Did not get the point of Brock and reigns match. Were they trying to have a Austin vs Hart moment? The 2 wrestlers pretty much just used 2 moves each the whole match and kicking out after so many finishers was just stupid.

Unless it's another wwe star who is scripted to take down Brock, yesterdays main event defied logic on every level.

It’s being reported that the kid paired with Braun is the son of one of the referees.

Supposedly Lesnar confronted a few wrestlers in the locker rooms after the match. Nothing is said to have kicked off, but it’s supposed to have got a bit heated.

Any source or links to this?

Who do we reckon for call-ups?

I think Cien will come up - probably to Smackdown. Hopefully he doesn't go through that "feud with Ziggler and lose all your momentum because Jesus Christ Ziggler is terrible" thing that all NXT guys seem to have to. Him losing the title on Takeover seemed more like a "let's get that off you so you're free to go up" move than anything else.

AOP to RAW. I think they've done about all they can on NXT, and the RAW tag division needs something after Braun has basically made a mockery of it. Also I think them hitting the Super Collider on Braun and Nicholas could be hilarious.

Those are the only two ones I'd say for sure. I think Ember could do with staying down on NXT for a bit longer yet. Maybe Gargano/Ciampa? Have them on separate brands though, then you can revisit the rivalry down the line. I know it'd be a bit weird after Gargano only just won a match to get himself back on NXT, but I feel like Takeover should be the end to that story for now, and I don't really know what else there is for him on there.

I don't really think much is needed in terms of call-ups right now, focus on the guys that are already there.

Earlier it was being reported that it was a heated exchange with the locker room, now it’s being reported it was with Vince. Some sites are saying that some wrestlers then confronted Lesnar after he allegedly threw the title belt at Vince and they thought it was out of order.

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/wrestl...tlemania-lesnar-may-have-gone-off-script/amp/

I guess we’ll hear more over the next few days.

Ah its probably to do with his elbows and busting Reigns open. Seemed about right there.

Still buzzard they didn't put Reigns over in Wrestlemania. If he goes over at another Ppv it's still a whimper.

Be funny if it was Jericho going after Brock again

Randy bleeding was planned, but it was a last second change if I recall and Jericho thought it was just Brock being a dick not knowing the full story so went after him.
I’d imagine Reigns bleeding is probably also a decision although wasn’t it one straight right that bust him open instead of consecutive elbows.

The A-Cup lesbians will appear on Smackdown I think (well they aren't A-cup anymore after recent enhancements).

It was just a bizarre booking. Everyone is expecting a Mysterio or Hogan surprise and we got that. It was just, odd.
It was very odd. I actually didn’t mind it but I bet there are a number of fecked off wrestlers who are wondering why they weren’t given their WrestleMania debut. They could have still got the kid to stand by the ring but it just seems a waste.

A day removed, I've eased up on the hatred for Asuka losing... Rusev losing on Rusev day? Unforgivable.

I called it.

Reigns to take the title in Saudi Arabia. ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’ my ass what a load of shite.

Vince selling by out big time to the Saudi’s he’s undermining his biggest show of the year to satisfy this fecking multi million dollar house show.
