Third Test. England Vs India

Bell...Prior....Strauss...noone of these should even make the squad let alone the team....

India don't choose to enforce the follow-on.

Jaffer's already gone. Shit umpire decision. cnuts.

I really don't get why we didn't enforce the follow on.

As I post this, Karthick's out.

Two down, I'll laugh my tits off if India are all out for 100 and England produce something Australian and win this test now... follow on was the only sensible thing to do. Still should win, but unneccessary pissing around is this

It will be funny to see the English crawl out of the woodwork after sniffing a chance of salvaging something from the game. They will be dissapointed again.

Oh look here is Brad now.

Crawl? I've been here all match you prat! (Footy meant I watched nearly sod all of our innings yesterday, make no aplogies for that)

Sounds like you're a little tense! Worried? :smirk:

There's no disadvantage of enforcing the follow on. Really stupid decision. I remember we didn't enforce the follow on against Australia once and they managed to draw the game. Knowing India, we can easily bottle this and even let England win it.

What the feck is Dravid doing? He's batting like a retard. Seriously somebody make Ganguly captain again.

I think maybe he may have wanted to rest his bowler's especially the oldie Kumble who has so far been involved a great deal mainly due to his test century. Allowing the bowlers to rest now and batting for a quick 200+ would leave England needing 500+ in the final innings to win. This would be hard as the bowlers would be fresh and Kumble had some turn before and would get more out of the pitch in the last innings. At least in his method the series is won as by the end of the innings whatever they end up getting, they have batted England out of the game.

He should have made them follow on though, the idiot.

Approaching 400 runs ahead with today and tomorrow left to play...

Dravid's decision was made to protect a 1-0 lead. The right decision would have been to go for 2-0.

And it's raining. This is plain stupid. Declare now, England will never score 400. Dravid isn't even scoring, he's going for a fecking draw.

Interesting decison not to follow on actually...I can see where he's coming from...but only if they put up a target in excess of 450 or so...as improbable as possible.England then have to make 450 in about 540 balls and they have the choice of either going down with a fight or conceding the match and drawing it

Don't see them winning this at all.

Dravid made the right decision you utter spastics.

His bowlers are tired.

You see, our strike bowler is 36 and he's knocked the stuffing out of your lot and he needed a rest.

WICKET: Ganguly c Strauss b Collingwood 57 (Ind 76-4)
Ganguly has a swish outside off-peg and Strauss pouches his 50th catch in Test cricket. Smashing innings that from Ganguly, ended in slightly soft fashion. The imperious VVS Laxman is the next man in, and he'll have to score a few runs because his skipper is virtually shotless. He's off the mark with a leg glance for one.

WICKET: Dravid c Strauss b Collingwood 12 (Ind 88-5)
Laxman reaches and eases Collingwood into the covers for one before Dravid's torturous innings is brought to an end, Colly getting one to wobble off the seam and Strauss taking another regulation catch at first slip. Dhoni marches into the fray and a billion Indian women cross their legs.

TEA - INDIA 121-5

WICKET: Dhoni c Prior b Tremlett 36 (Ind 158-6)
Magnificent effort from Anderson, diving full-stretch to his right at mid-off, but the ball dribbles out of his hand on hitting the turf. Dhoni's little cameo is soon brought to an end, however, the wicket-keeper attempting to cut a Tremlett bumper and Prior snaffling the catch.

Rahul Dravid finally called an end to India's second innings with his side 180-6, setting England a target of 500.

I can't help but feel a tad more ambition (Have to admit I haven't seen the game today so far, will change after tea) could have England up at 300 now, with a chance of a smash and grab still in the offing. Fair play if we hold out for a draw in this game, but we are still essentially holding out for defeat. It's like say Bolton going to Chelsea, falling a goal behind, and continuing to defend all game to hold on for that scoreline - well it beats losing 4-0 eh? Daft, I'd rather show ambition and lose 2-0
