THIRD NPOWER TEST, OLD TRAFFORD: ENGLAND v WEST INDIES

Strauss
Cook
Vaughan
Pietersen
Collingwood
Bell
Prior
Plunkett
Sidebottom
Harmison
Panesar

Has a good look to it. The middle order is quite strong.

Strauss out cheaply again.

England 24-1

Vaughan's out for 41. Half-decent knock I suppose. Currently 128-2

Pietersen out. 132-3. Caught Bravo Bowled Collymore who gets his 2nd wicket.

Ok now its up to Cooky and Colly!

Fourth Wicket. Alistair Cook out for 60. Good catch by Bravo again. Darren Sammy gets his first Text wicket. 132-4.

Windies will mess up there batting again on this quite quick and bouncy wicket.

Got myself a rather fantastic deal, popped down at tea and got a ticket for the rest of the day off a tout for a fiver. The managed to put some 120 runs on for the loss of 2 lower order wickets, daft shot from Prior off the shortest ball I've ever seen. Windies might even be putting a fight up this yimr

I have no idea what I was trying to say at the end of that sentence yesterday, yimr??!!

Fine start to the day for England so far, made the 350 target and then some, and allowed Harmi's took a peach of a wicket despite bowling it all over the shop previously

Might try and see if I can't watch the final session again for a similar negliable price...

Harmison's is a Jeckyll and Hyde performance. Unplayable one minute, atrocious the next.

65-2 at the moment. England giving away loads of extras

Dammit can't make it to OT later, expecting someone at the flat :(

My mood improved by Harmisons second decent ball of his entire spell taking his second wicket...

I believe Harmison and Plunkett are doing a bloody good job of making this a contest at the moment

 Definitely. Got to say though that the pitch is made for Harmison, he should be performing much better. Someone needs to have a word.

Devon Smith out, Panesar gets his first wicket. 157-4. Panesar's 50th test wicket.

Sidebottom has another wicket. Ramdin 224-6. Chanderpaul is the main man; if he sticks around they'll get to 300

Darren Sammy is out now as well. Panesar had him caught on slip by Colly. 225-7

A collapse is happening. Panesar has Jerome Taylor caught. 225-8

England innings starts; Strauss already out. Fidel Edwards has him edged. Come on Vaughany!

Five penalty runs for hitting the helmet, first time I've ever seen it happen

That's generally quite rare, only ever seen happened once when Alec Stewart was the one who's helmet got hit when he was keeping wicket.

Theres been a whole load of extras in this test match.

Close of play. England are 34-1. The lead is 175.

England should win this even if all out for 150. Shame for Strauss he got a good one early in his innings. I wouldnt drop him, he's proved he's a quality player.

Yeah that was strange, never seen it happen live before. But seen it happen in a county game before and a one day internetional between India (?) and someone else.
England are in a good position and should win easily

England 1st Innings:

Bell 97
Cook 60
Extras 47

Windies 1st Innings:

Chanderpaul 50
Extras 42

England 2nd Innings:

Cook 12*
Extras 12*

Extras has been in the top three scorers of each innings. Which I think sums up some of the quality of cricket that's been on show. Especially considering attacks giving away over 100 extras in the match have also taken 21 wickets

Sad to watch in some ways, Windies have basically become a laughing stock. It's a good job their schedule didn't put them up against Bangladesh any time soon...

Their fielding is shocking to say the least. These are professional players who can't carry out the basics of the sport, it must be embarrassing for the coaches to say the least. England are walking away with this one and i'm sure Cook and perhaps Pieterson will get close to centuries.
England 136 - 2, 277 ahead

Windies dont look any closer to getting a wicket. Pietersen and Cook should be disappointed if they don't get a century each. 174-2 currently/
