Thibaut Courtois | Performances

Is that a real quote? Holy shit. Really uncool to question the manager publicly.

Technically he's very much a donkey.

He's physically a beast which makes up for it but he's awful with the ball at his feet and his movement is terrible as well.

Its fantastic inside the box. He’s a poacher not a link player so think he gets judged harshly.

He seems to have a mouth the size of a building.
Not the first time he's trying shite like this.

Not his first time talking out. Or insubordination. He attempted to fight Marc Wilmots for the NT once.

This won’t end well for Chelsea. It’ll probably end with Conte out at the end of the season, but it would be a setback to Abromivich’s goal of curbing player power.

Hopefully it makes it hard to hold onto Hazard and Courtois. If they lost Courtois to Madrid, we’ll party here like we won a cup.

These talented Belgium players seem to have very complex characters: KDB, Hazard, Courtois, Lukaku, Benteke,...
In what world is Hazard a complex character? Every single interview and Chelsea video with him featured i get nothing other than the impression that he is a humble guy of very good character. Courtois i can see it, but Hazard? I'd love to know how you or anyone who thinks that came to that conclusion.

It comes mainly from the way he acted in France when he was teasing his move on social media.
He used to come off a bit dic*ish but he has improved and is almost likeable nowadays.

Barcelona 3:0 Chelsea
Playing himself out of contention for Real

Someone tell Real this is completely out of character from Courtois.

A couple of my mates were saying he should have been further off his line for Dembele's goal? They're both absolutely smashed so they're probably talking bollocks but did anyone else think so?

Never noticed it before but his legs are SOOOO wide open, Messi kept shooting at them it can't be a coincidence.

He's great when the balls in the air, but on the floor he's almost too big. Needs to adopt the closed gate position like De Gea.

I hope Real Madrid aren't swayed by this game. Otherwise de Gea will be back on the radar.

Why do you think Dave is off the radar? Probably because we demand too much money and are willing to give him a huge pay raise. That's not going to change.

Woeful game. Players are defined by their performances in big games, not a good look for him.

Hazard to a lower level should take some fire as well. Willian outplayed him in both legs.

Can't believe he's still being compared to de Gea. That's like comparing Cech to Buffon. A class apart.

A few years ago he looked potentially better but he clearly hasn't developed at all since his Atletí days. Not sure how anyone can put him ahead of Oblak or Ederson.

He really did look like Joe Hart tonight which should worry us because Real Madrid might go back to targeting DDG. :(

That title

Oblak is probably being overestimated as well along with every defender that has played for Atlético under Simeone. The system and team effort make them all look slightly better than they are, much like Mourinho's tactics makes our defenders look better than they are.

I think that the ideal height for a goalkeeper is around 6’3 or 6’4. Neuer, DDG and Buffon are all in this region. Once you get around 6’6 a goalies ability to get down quickly for low driven shots is seriously reduced.

He was poor for the first goal but the third finish was fantastic from Messi. Can't blame Courtious for that.

I got laughed out of the park for suggesting Madrid shouldn’t sign him because Navas is as good. His general cuntiness for wanting out is probably playing a part, but he’s really not in that elite bracket of ‘keepers, anyway.

Third goal was very good placement and hit with good power but first one he was very poor.

He's lucky a goal between the legs doesn't count for 2 like we used to do it in school

He is lucku if he isn't pregnant after penetrating through his legs twice in the same night.
