You got bale fair and square but since then you have tried and failed to sign any big players you targeted is all I am saying. Not to mention you have become a bit of a cheapskate in recent year trying to get players to not sign contracts or trying to have them scupper better deals to get the same player on cheap. We didn't. The players we pursued aggressively we got(James, Kroos, Theo and Ceballos who we beat barcelona to). The players we didn't pursue aggressively -or not aggressively enough- we didn't. We're not any different from any other big club except we have that bit of extra glamour, but when the chips are down most players won't pick our glamour over a better offer from another big club

Courtois will not leave, even if he wants the move. Kepa and Navas are enough for Real. They need the funds for an offensive overhaul, not for another keeper.

I thought we dithered a lot for bale (dithering moyes). I felt had we got Jose then aND were after him fron June we might have had a good chance of landing him. But levy was reluctant to sell bale to other english club so bale to Madrid was always going to happen.
Yeah I read the article, obviously no one knows what truly will happen me included, but I can tell you after his recent interview I would be very surprised. He really spoke about how happy he is at Chelsea and about who will sign first out of him or eden etc.

Yeah you could be right, but if Courtois doesn't sign a new contract, Madrid will likely make a move. It was a similar scenario when de Gea ran down his contract to his final year in 2015 and almost singed for them. Worst part is that Madrid will try lowballing Chelsea due to the contract situation. Also, Hazard will only have 2 years left on his contract come the summer, so either he signs a new contract soon or you may have to sell in the summer to get a decent transfer fee, before his value starts dropping.
Yeah I do genuinely believe they will both sign. But I agree if Chelsea have an indication that neither are looking to sign and are running there contracts down then they need to go this summer really.

My guess is they will take the guy who is easier to get and cheaper, i.e. Courtois. I dont know if de Gea would push for a move like Courtois would.

Real want De Gea, like I said in the Salah thread to play for Real or Barca you have to be more than just a good player you need to have the marketing potential as well and for Real the biggest club in Spain signing the Spanish number one obviously makes more headlines than signing Courtois
I actually hold it against Courtois for being away from his young children already, I know a footballers life is a lot of time away from home anyway but to live in another country is a huge sacrifice

With Chelsea spiralling and beginning to look a bit like a club in crisis I can see Real going after Courtois AND Hazard and I think they’d both happily join too.
That wasn't my point, my point was surely any parent would find it impossible to live in another country to their children? Whether or not he speaks about it in the press or not is an entirely different matter

I don't think she's his wife and they split up before the second kid was born, I'm guessing they got together when he played for Atelti.
According to Wikipedia he had a Spanish girlfriend whilst playing in Madrid and they had two kids together before breaking up in 2017.
Personally I think he's mad for having two kids by the age of 25.
